After He's gone

After He's gone
thirty eight. Hope

Alana's father returns to Ananta's room after receiving approval from Alana. This news will be shocking, but ironic at the same time. Well, because we can't be happy over the death of others. But still, it's a good charity for the donor. His heart would beat longer by giving it to someone else. And for Ananta, this is a hope that seems impossible to happen. But in fact, hope happens. God must have loved Ananta with all his heart.

The doctor stood up nervously. Seeing Ananta's face he immediately did not know how to convey. He was afraid that there would be disappointment a second time. Because before the operation is complete, all failures have a high probability.

"Before I didn't want to put expectations as high as before, because again this is uncertain" he said, starting to bring news to Ananta and his parents.

"But we're getting potential donors with body conditions that are compatible with Ananta" he continued. As expected, they are not necessarily happy, because they have failed before. Although it was not said there must be disappointment in the depths of his heart. It was seen how Ananta's mother tried to smile at that almost empty hope. Ananta remained silent, not speaking. He looked towards Alana. Because like before, Alana must know everything.

Alana who was stared at by Ananta finally smiled sincerely before nodding slowly. Ananta knows this answer almost for sure if Alana has responded so.

"the family has agreed, and we can schedule the operation as soon as possible before the donor situation deteriorates more than now" Alana's father said in silence.

"Thank you so much doctor" Ananta said later, smiling sincerely. This time he did not call as om as usual. He wanted to honor the man who had done so much in his life.

"Hopefully you can soon live like all children your age Nanta" said Alana's father. He immediately resigned to return to take care of the files so that he could immediately schedule the operation. Before that he will still ask questions from Ananta's parents whether the two agreed to the procedure or not.

"this time, I hope everything goes well. You have fought a lot, you deserve it" Alana said. Ananta has been holding his hand since. It got tighter as soon as Alana's father came out of her nursery. He himself felt anxious, afraid to expect more.

"don't worry" Alana said with a deep look. He should be sure now. It could be that her positive thoughts and beliefs are the reason God gave her a good destiny.

Alana's father calls Ananta's parents to his room. Alana and Ananta were silent in the room.

Ananta looked at Alana with a sad look for quite a while, before he finally spoke.

"Na, I'm afraid" he said softly. It was very short but that sentence had already conveyed everything he felt now. Yes, he's afraid. The operation is not always successful even if done by a doctor. There is still a possibility that he will not wake up after. What if he leaves without her knowing? leaving everyone with even more painful grief. Thinking about it it felt like Ananta's heart was in remat firmly. The imaginary pain was felt even though his body was completely fine.

"You should always remember, I'm waiting for you to heal Ta" Alana replied briefly as well. He has delivered everything. Sometimes, long sentences of consolation would be outdone by a deep gaze that felt soothing deep within the heart.

Ananta nodded. She wanted to cry for a while, before her parents came back later. Alana just silently waited for Ananta who began to shed tears. He is happy, Ananta wants to show his fragile side in front of Alana. That means they share more wounds than ever before. It feels much more soothing than crying silently.

Ananta wiped his tears after crying for a long time. Alana had already wiped it earlier, but that was when her tears had not stopped flowing. Now he was gathering his strength again. Back to being a strong Ananta and always fine no matter what.

"if all is done, we can prepare for surgery in two days" said the mother responded to Alana's gaze which looked very curious. However, for this kind of thing, children like Ananta and Alana are usually not involved. When making final decisions adults will be in full control. But they can be calm, because the decision taken is definitely the best for everyone.

"the strong yes son" continued Ananta's mother who now stroked Ananta's back who had been sitting quietly without saying anything. Ananta just nodded slowly.

Ananta smiled broadly to say that he was okay.

After a long time Alana said goodbye to come out for a while, she was willing to disturb her father once again.

"Well," call Alana as soon as she gets to her father's all-white room.

"humms?" again, his father always looks busy whenever he comes to his office.

"Alana wants to ask" continued Alana asked for full attention. But his father can't now. There are many important things that need to be addressed immediately. There were many diagnoses and new patients waiting for him. Alana must have forgotten that her father was the primary doctor of internal medicine. He couldn't bother her at will.

"why dear" replied the father, although soft-pitched but his attention is still not diverted at all.

"Who will Ananta's surgeon be?" ask Alana. He wants to make sure Ananta gets the best handling, even though it is very unnecessary because his father has certainly done it first without being asked.

"there is, father's friend" replied Alana's father simply. She wasn't sure Alana knew her.

"whose name is well" asked Alana again not satisfied with the answer she got. He plans to find out a lot about the doctors who deal with Ananta on the internet, until he is sure he can leave the scary procedure to them calmly.

"The best doctor in the surgery division, you don't have to look for him on the internet, he's definitely very talented. The success rate of his surgery is more than 80 percent and he's experienced in heart transplants" explained the father at length though he wasn't sure Alana would believe.

Alana looks to be talking again so that her father is finally just her and listening.

"father is not worried about Ananta" asked Alana timidly. He knew the answer to how, but still he asked.

"Dad was worried, very worried. That's why I want to prepare everything perfectly as much as dad. So don't bother dad anymore, yeah. Let me work." replied Alana's father. Finally Alana nodded to herself and then decided to leave her father's room. He knew his father had tried hard, he was a little sorry for doubting his father before.
