09. Make Changes

What the hell is he doing?

Hina flickered in confusion as Shun slowly pushed her to lean on the sofa as her lips worked hard sipping Hina. He did not expect that sticking out his tongue would make the man instantly devour it all out like this.

With all her might, Hina tried to push Shun's chest to let their kiss slip. His breathing rose and fell with a sharp look towards Shun who was still supporting him on the sofa.

"You said you sucked blood only in a dream" Hina protested.

"I told you your blood was different" he replied calmly. "Can we continue?"

Hina restrained Shun's chest so as not to bring their faces closer together again. "You're not sucking his blood. You just...just want to kiss me."

Shun fell silent.

Also true. Shun did not inhale the sweet scent of blood anymore because he had swallowed it a little. Her body came down from the sofa which made Hina breathe a sigh of relief even though her legs still felt trembling and limp.

"It's weird" Shun muttered in deep thought as he stood on Hina's back. "I can never suck human blood outside of their dreams. But just now, I felt thirsty for the first time in reality."

"Vampires are vampires" Hina's lips stood up. "I'm going to go. Don't ever do that again!"

Shun turned his head small, letting Hina run away from there. Panicked and full of fear, Hina climbed the stairs of the hallway and went to confine herself in her room. She covered her entire body with a blanket while on the bed.

"I almost died," Hina muttered recalling the incident earlier.

Not almost dead because of the blood sucked, but because of the kiss Shun who made his heart beat unbecoming until it felt like exploding.

Without Hina knowing, Yuki was standing at the door of her room without knocking. He heard Hina's inner voice from there, making him think and guess something.

"Dad," called Yuki as Shun walked over to get to the room.

Yuki turned towards Shun who was now stopping, trying to listen to what the boy was about to say.

"Don't bother Hina."

Shun let out a rough breath. "You're accusing me of recklessness. He's the one who bothers me."

"I will protect Hina from anyone, including Father," Yuki said with a determined look.

Shun saw that. Blue Hazel they both met with a very tense atmosphere.

"I don't care," Shun replied before finally actually leaving from there.

Yuki looked at the man's departure. Previously, he was happy to see Hina's future so full of love with Shun and herself. However, Yuki's heart said another. He wants to protect Hina, from anyone and any vampire, including Shun, who he knows has begun to suck human blood beyond their dreams.

Next day.

Hina walks to several places to look for Yuki who is nowhere including her room in the morning. He tried to find her with worry. Hina is afraid that Yuki is facing danger or even doing other dangerous things with her strength.

"YUKI!" hina shouted in front of the fountain.

Shun watched her from behind the window. He did not expect that Hina would be that golden if she lost Yuki despite knowing that Yuki was a vampire who would not easily die like a human.

"Dude!" call someone.

Hina turned around, staring in surprise at a brownish-haired man and a small running blue hazel approaching her cheerfully.

"Who are you?" tanya Hina tried to keep her distance.

"Yuki's. I'm Takeda Yuki. Why do you see me like that?"

"Yuki?" Hina blinked, observing the face of the man who was indeed similar to Yuki, but a more mature version of him.

"You're kidding! The Yuki I knew was a child and her-" Hina's sentence stopped seeing Yuki suddenly become a child again.

"You-you? Why did you change that?" ask Hina to panic.

Hina looked around, hoping that no one would see Yuki turn into an adult and now a child again.

"Yuki, since when have you been able to change like that?" tanya Hina whispered.

"From a long time ago" he replied plainly. "I can also get old. You wanna see?"

"No! Nah! Don't do it," prevent Hina from embracing Yuki to leave.

Now, the two of them were in Yuki's room. Hina tapped her feet against the floor restlessly while looking at Yuki who was playing around with the white rabbit on her bed.

"So all this time you can turn into an adult? You're not a kid?" tanya Hina started talking.

"I was a kid, Hina."

"But you were..." Hina groaned small in frustration. "I've been babysitting for someone even older than me. It's futile."

"You don't want to be with me anymore?" asked Yuki with a sad expression.

"Bu-not that."

Remembering Yuki growing up earlier made Hina remember her who always bathed Yuki without caring about it.

Ah, embarrassing.

"It's crazy!" hina's sigh ruffled her hair. "You vampires. I should have come to my senses and really left here."

"Hina, don't go. I still want to play with you," persuaded Yuki who walked over and then grasped Hina's hand using her small hand.

"I promise I won't turn big again. I was just trying to catch the rabbit faster."

"You promise?" tanya Hina made sure. "I'd find it strange that you suddenly turn into an adult like that."

"I promise!" reply Yuki smiled. "Come on Hina, we're playing outside again."

Hina let her hand be held by Yuki even though she now felt strange and stuck. Shun had even told the boy's true age, so Hina even felt bad to treat Yuki like a child again.

As they walked down the stairs, Shun confronted him. He bowed slightly observing Yuki closely.

"You want to show me your strength now?"

Yuki tightened her grip on Hina while slightly hiding behind her.

"Mr Shun, you scared him. Don't be like that to her anymore" forbid Hina.

Shun straightened his body with an eye bead that now turned to Hina. "You saw it, didn't you?"

Hina was silent, unwilling to answer.

"He can't just change. You know what he's doing so it can turn out like that?" shun continued trying to ignite curiosity and doubt in Hina.

"Human blood" he whispered in Hina's ear.

The grip on Yuki's hand loosened. Hina looked down at the child in disbelief and urged an explanation.

"You... You been...?"

Yuki lowered her head, squeezing a small side of her clothes. "I'm just trying and want to change into an adult in order to protect you, Hina. I'm sorry."

"But you promised not to suck human blood, Yuki. I'm not asking you to grow up to protect me" Hina said.

"As you said last night, Miss Hina. Vampires are vampires" Shun said.

Yuki pushed Shun's leg and then ran away from there quickly without Hina being able to catch up. The boy felt very sad, guilty, and hated himself.

"It seems that the child should be taught more manners to the parents," Shun's lips breathed a small sigh at Yuki's departure.
