12. Other Feelings

"Please promise me one thing, Shun. Take good care of Yuki. I love you both..."

That sentence keeps ringing in the mind. Both of Shun's eyes were still open even though it was already morning. He stood in front of the window of his room, watching Hina who was walking while being led by Yuki out.

"Love," Shun murmured as if asking something in his heart and mind.

During this time, Shun had never seen Yuki talk much or even smile. Shun ignored him a lot, even assuming that the child never existed in this world. But the late wife's request to look after Yuki makes Shun choose to hire a nanny rather than being taken care of by himself.

Look at this moment. Yuki who had always been moody, playing alone in the yard with his seedy balls, and running around himself hunting in the forest, was now like a happy and lively person after being accompanied by Hina.

His wife, Nakahara Sako, is currently in Hina's position. She should have been looking at Sako who she loved so much, not Hina.

"Ah, that's stupid!" shun growled at himself who began to dilemma.

"Hina, does your wound still hurt?" tanya Yuki looked up innocently while hugging her ball which started to deflate.

"No. This was already somewhat improved," Hina replied stroking her wrists wrapped in bandages.

"See. I've been practicing this while you're resting."

"What?"

Yuki throws the ball up and then he bounces with his head until the ball now bounces away from him. Yuki and Hina both turned to look at the ball rolling to the front of Shun's feet that was suddenly there.

Hina gawks at seeing Shun stomp on the ball so hard that it completely deflates and breaks down. He saw Yuki clenching a vengeful hand on Shun.

"The ball is useless!" shun exclaimed kicking him originally from the front.

"Hey, why are you so rude? That's Yuk--'s toy"

"Get in the car" said Shun, who turned to approach his parked car not far from there.

"What does that mean?" hina muttered not understanding.

"You too," Shun turned to look at Yuki. "Get in the car."

As a result, Hina and Yuki were in the car. The three of them remained silent throughout the journey. Hina felt awkward because Shun was focused on driving and Yuki just stayed in the back seat while looking away at the street outside.

"Where are you taking us?" hina asked a little doubtfully and suspiciously.

"Don't ask too many questions. You just come along," Shun replied indifferently.

Hina thaws slack. Even so, he continued to come until they finally stopped in front of a large children's toy store.

"What do you mean bring us here?" ask Hina when she just got out of the car.

"Can't you shut up? You're her nanny. Just do what is your job. I pay you a lot not to keep asking me."

"Why are you even scolding me? I'm just asking, sir. Can't you just answer that well?"

"Good God, I'm not angry. I'm just-" Shun's sentence came to a halt as his eyes glanced towards Yuki who started to enter the store with a happy smile.

"Company him. I'll wait in the car" Shun said, opening the door.

Hina immediately held Shun back until the car door closed again. "You're father. You should accompany her, too."

Forced, Shun joined Hina and Yuki who were busy looking and choosing various toys there. He just walked lazily following the two from behind. While Hina is busy discussing one by one the toys that Yuki can buy.

"Hina?"

The call made Hina turn her head to a man who walked over to her.

"Key-keiji?" Hina glanced at Yuki who suddenly clasped her hand.

"What are you doing here?" ask Hina curiously.

"I'm choosing a toy for Hisato" he replied.

Ah, Hina knows that Akibara Hisato is the younger sister of Keiji's current fiance, Akibara Rinako.

"You like war games?" keiji asked as he picked up a toy gun that lit up and sounded.

"You don't like it?" keiji asked somewhat disappointedly. "Hisato likes this."

Hina just smiled awkwardly at Keiji who had been trying to talk to Yuki.

"Ah, how about a toy car?" keiji's proposal ran small to another shelf containing wrapped toy cars and then back.

"This. You likey? It can go by itself using the remote."

Yuki picked up the toy without even letting out a sound. Even so, Keiji kept a friendly smile even as he stroked Yuki's hair.

"Want to see another toy? I have a lot of recommendations here. You must really like it" Keiji said.

Yuki gave a small nod, took Hina's hand back and left with Keiji who was holding Yuki's back next to her.

It made Shun who had been observing from behind feel strange. His feelings seemed disturbed, let alone imagining the three people were family.

The shadow suddenly transforms into her, Yuki, and Sako. Shun walked straight after them and...

"Have you found the toy?" shun asked while holding Hina's arm which was now turned around.

"Ah, looks like Yuki wants another toy. But he also wanted those cars," Hina replied. "Yuki, you want a ball too?"

Yuki nodded.

"If you have, let's go home" Shun asked.

Keiji who did not understand any of the circumstances began to ask, "Hina, this is your friend?"

Hina glanced towards Shun. "Ah, he's Yuki's father."

"Oh, so." Keiji extended a hand to Shun. "My name is Ishimoto Keiji."

"No Shunji," said Shun indifferently without wanting to return Keiji's hand.

"Let's go after you guys get the toys," Shun asked.

Hina left first when Keiji still had to find another toy for Hisato. The man was astonished by Shun's cold attitude as if he didn't want Hina to be there longer with Keiji.

The journey back is traversed with silence even tension. Despite buying a lot of toys, Yuki did not look happy at all. The atmosphere was so stiff that Hina felt like jumping away from the car.

"Stop right here!" exclaim Hina.

"Why should I stop?" shun asked glanced at him sharply.

"I want to take Yuki for a walk first. If you don't want to come, you can wait in the car."

"It's soon evening" said Shun, still driving.

"Say stop, Mr. Shun. I just want to do my job as a nanny to make your son comfortable and entertained" Hina said trying to comment on a friendly smile.

Shun pasrah's. They stopped at an amusement park that many people began to visit. Although he is a vampire, thankfully Shun is not like ordinary vampires who are tempted to suck human blood wherever they are.

Shun and Yuki are different vampires. They do not feel thirsty for blood, can even blend in with other humans without any problems.

"You wanna come?" ask Hina who broke Shun's daydream.

"What?"

"Riding a comedy of swivels. You wanna come?" point Hina at the rides in front of her that make Shun's forehead frown strangely.
