VAMPIRE SITTER

VAMPIRE SITTER
02. A Real Dream

Hina walked back and forth in front of the stairs to wait for her father Yuki who never came. Initially Hina wanted to leave because she had to go back to accompany her father who was in the hospital. On the other hand, he could not bear to leave Yuki alone in this remote mansion in the middle of the forest.

How could he leave a child alone here?

"Hina," Yuki called out to start going down the stairs while rubbing her still sleepy eyes.

"Ah, are you awake? Does your dad always come home late at night? He has not returned yet" said Hina anxiously.

"Father may still be hunting," she replied making Hina turn her head in surprise.

"Hunting?" Whatdoes thatmean?

"He's back" Yuki said, before long the door opened.

Hina looked at the man while researching his appearance that looked more and more fresh like a bath. His body was wrapped in a brown coat that still stuck firmly without removing the impression of a tall and athletic Shunji Takeda.

"I didn't think you were still here" Shun said suddenly. He walked over to the nervous and slightly frightened Hina after recalling the strange dream earlier.

"Why did you let him?" tanyanya then glanced sharply at Yuki who was standing beside Hina. Her little hand just grabbed Hina.

"I can't leave Yuki alone here. Eat it I decided to wait until you came home," said Hina.

"Dearly enough. Looks like you won't be able to go home at midnight like this" he said, straightening up. "You can stay here. There's an empty room you can occupy."

"I'm sorry I've been troubling you" Hina said.

"It is precisely me who has troubled you because of that child," Shun added, passing up the stairs.

Hina did not understand Shun's expression just now that looked cold to Yuki. Yuki was also just speechless, unwilling to look at her father. Hina so wondered with the relationship that felt tenuous between the two.

"Hina, you can sleep with me if you're afraid," Yuki bargained up with an innocent look and she looked like she was still sleepy.

"I'm not afraid to sleep alone" Hina said as she led Yuki back to her room. At first glance Hina glanced towards the door of Shun's room that was slightly open until it suddenly closed as if she did not want to continue to be meticulous.

After putting Yuki to sleep, Hina chose to rest in the room that the child had shown before. The room was large and spacious, exceeding the rooms in his house were narrow and messy.

His body lay, staring at the ceiling decorated with images like people were at war. Hina still felt uneasy while in that place, even her eyes did not want to close at all.

Brakk!

Suddenly the window in the room opened shut hard as it was blown by the wind. Hina immediately approached and closed the window then realized something as her eyes looked out.

This window was the place where Hina felt that someone was watching her when she first came here.

Is that Shun?

"Ah, that's it." Hina no longer wants her mind full of suspicion that makes her heart and head uncomfortable.

As he turned around, suddenly Shun was already in front of his eyes. The man glanced down, looking at Hina with full arrogance. The blue Hazel seemed to be burning in the dim light of the room.

"Mr Shun, why are you... suddenly here?" hina asked with her chest pounding, suddenly feeling scared.

"You keep bothering me" he said.

"Don't you?"

As Hina was looking to the side to inhale her body odor from the shoulder, suddenly Shun's face approached Hina's neck without warning. Something like a sharp object suddenly felt stuck to the skin of the neck, as if to stab it.

...----------------...

Morning welcomed. The window of a room was still open, letting a fresh breeze from outside blow into the room.

"Am I resigning?" It's too creepy in here.

But in the middle of that thought, Hina was reminded of the money for the treatment of the father who has chronic kidney disease so it must be frequent dialysis even surgery. Hina needed a lot of money and it was this job that paid her so much as Hina's hope now.

Geck! Geck! Geck!

The door sounded knocking. Hina shuffled to approach the door and opened it.

"Hina, let's have breakfast" Yuki asked.

Hina was still in a daze, so Yuki clasped her hand which made Hina come to a realization.

"Ah, what's wrong?"

"Let's have breakfast," Yuki's the one who led Hina out.

"Yuki," called Hina before they went down the stairs. He crouched down in front of the boy to align high.

"Look at my neck. Are there bite marks... or something?" tanyanya while showing her neck to Yuki.

"Nothing" said Yuki.

"Really, right?" Why does that dream feel real?

Hina and Yuki also headed to the dining room. There was already presented a lot of food that made Hina gawk when she saw it.

Who cooked this much?

"Eat here before you go," Shun bargained as he placed a plate of extra food on the table.

Hina sat down carefully, feeling uneasy from having been treated with this kind of kindness by Shun.

They ate quietly, with no conversation between the three. Hina who had felt awkward trying to enjoy the delicious food there. He tried to speak in his own heart to relieve the real tension around them.

Before long, Shun put down his cutlery and drank. He glanced at Hina seriously before finally opening his voice.

"Let's make a deal" he said until Hina's activities stopped.

"Yes? Ah, is it a contract job?"

Shun nodded. "As long as you work as her nanny, you should be here from afternoon to night. So your return schedule is tomorrow morning."

"You mean... You're giving me a night schedule?"

"I have other options" said Shun, who was heard by Hina. "You can stay here. You can't go back and forth from here because my house is also quite far from the city. So which one will you choose?"

Hina started the dilemma. He thought of his father who had to be constantly looked at and accompanied. On the other hand, he could not spend a lot of money every day to order a taxi to deliver it to Shun's house which is quite far from the city.

"I'll give you until later in the afternoon. Now I can take you home because I happen to want to go to town to take care of something, too" he continued.

"Hina," called Yuki smiling with sparkling eyes. "You can stay here with me."

"Ah, that problem. I'm..." Hina's head started to think hard.

"Don't think about it too much now. Finish your breakfast."

"B-well, sir."
