The Escapades

The Escapades
Episode 38's

“How dare a human break through to the Lizardman clan territory!” one of them shouted furiously.

But Riander still looked calm. His hand quickly pulled his sword from its sheath and pointed it at Drake's neck. Drake once again flinched due to the cold aura of the thin sword.

“Let down your weapons and raise your hands,” he said calmly.

Drake could barely breathe properly as he felt a chill run out from the sword attached to his neck.

He held his breath as best he could and did not dare to move at all as his eyes stared naggingly at his clan to have them drop their weapons, he said, but they did not seem to understand at all and still maintained the position of besieging Riander and the others.

Drake cursed in his heart because of the stupid attitude of his race. He could die because of that!

Seeing no desire at all to lower his weapon, Paula advanced.

He did not say anything as he walked forward and swung his hand into the air which caused all of their pointy spears to fly and bounce towards the swamp then sink.

The inhabitants of the lizard human race were all astonished, the women and children started to fidget and there was fear in their eyes upon seeing that. Bella could feel it, the fear in their eyes contained more trauma.

Paula who also saw that, came forward to appease some of the Lizardman children but the men immediately confronted her and their vigilance became more and more heightened. They became aggressive but there was also a look of anxiety from their gazes.

“Drake! How dare you bring them here!”

A voice came from behind. A human figure of a lizard that was quite old with a wooden stick that helped him walk slowly towards them, and there was a lot of anger in his eyes as he looked at Drake and chopped.

“So your max will be better we who give up our lives---”

“Dead some much better than the annihilation of the entire race!” he said quickly cutting Drake's words.

Drake and his troops gasped and there was anger in their hearts. Even so, they knew that sacrificing a few lives was better than all of them. But still he did not accept!

Drake's face was filled with shock and also disappointment as he said coldly, “Areally? We fought desperately for the sake of guarding the clan territory but you guys still want us to sacrifice ourselves?”

He then stood firm and did not care anymore about the sword around his neck.

“I and my army turned out to be nothing more than a grain of dust in your eyes,” he said again with a flat face.

All of the troops he led were shocked when he saw the aura emanating from their leader. Drake is a laid-back type of leader and sometimes prefers to play around, but now he turns into a wounded dragon and his power multiplies.

   “That's your job!”

Drake smiled coldly as he heard it.

“Even a tiger does not prey on its own cubs.”

   “We are Lizarman not tiger.”

Her younger sister who was standing next to her father tried to stop their quarrel because there was a more important enemy now.

Riander doesn't have much patience now.

“Quite the bases, we just passed by and happened to be blocked them in the middle of the road.” Riander pulled back his sword and stuffed it into his container.

Then he continued, “I only have a few questions.”

The head of the Lizardman clan, Draco, narrowed his eyes at the sight of the humans in front of him then said, “Say.”

Riander sighed and sighed.

Dranxi, Drake's younger sister, started to look angry upon hearing this. He really wanted to beat them up, since when did they become guests?

They are uninvited guests! But he remained calm and remained standing beside the clan head.

Darco waved his hand as he told some of their women to prepare a banquet. Afterwards, Riander and his team were asked to enter one of the houses belonging to the clan to chat.

While they chatted, Drake and his troops immediately broke free from the rope that bound them and moved away from there. Drake became extremely wary as he looked at the wild gaze of Heaven who was constantly glancing at his armor.

That kid is crazy!

While Heaven and Hero were waiting outside to take a look, Riander and the others were inside the house. Riander smiled as he watched them actually prepare the banquet, there were many delicious meals and fruits on the table.

Before long, Heaven entered followed by Wira who also joined the others.

“I don't think you're going in,” Paula said upon seeing the two of them.

Heaven took his place and rubbed his hands together as he said, “There are many good foods, how could I refuse them.”

Without waiting, he immediately took one loaf of bread then bit it and there was meat inside.

Everyone especially Paula swallowed their saliva when she saw how the Fool ate without worrying about anything.

After all they were in the territory of the Lizardman race and were not even welcomed by the hosts. But Heaven did not seem to have any worries at all inside his head.

“We're not as bad as you guys imagined.” Dranxi came carrying water and a few cups on a tray.

“If you have no evil intentions then neither do we,” he said again while pouring water for them.

Heaven did not bother to listen and continued to chew his food and gulp down the water immediately as it choked.

“What do you want to ask?” ask Draco. There was no more anger, instead, he was being very friendly and warm.

Riander swallowed a piece of cake before she spoke.

“Sorry for the rudeness and disrespectful manner of us who suddenly came here.”

Draco was stunned, but then immediately laughed out loud until his white beard moved along.

He shook his head as he said, “No need to bother. We also did not behave well before.”

Riander nodded in understanding then said what had plagued his mind since earlier. He recounts the first time they set foot in the Poisonous Gas Swamp and how they were surrounded by Drake to reach the Lizardman clan settlement.

Draco listened and did not interrupt, he just nodded his head a few times and continued to listen.

After Riander raised some questions especially about the way they survived in dangerous areas without being affected by poisonous gas at all, he smiled.

“It all started from a great interracial war a few thousand years ago,” Draco said as he began to recall those terrible moments.

“At that time, the village where we live the Lizardman entered the battlefield area to cause the village to be destroyed. In addition to the enemy troops, the bandits also took advantage of the situation and began to attack the village.” Draco sighed before he continued.

“Many of the inhabitants died or became prisoners, at that time I was very small and knew nothing. The previous clan head, my grandfather, decided to make a migration under the coercion of circumstances. We ended up making a boat and went from there, until months later we got here. The first island we encountered after a long time in the high seas.

At first we intended to leave this place but suddenly a lot of residents fell ill until we finally realized this place is very rich in resources, especially herbal ingredients. After that we decided to settle in this swamp and our bodies slowly became immune to toxins.”
