Missing In The Heart

Missing In The Heart
Chapters 19.Unsatiated

In the morning at 08:00 in London, in the middle of an important meeting in progress, Mahavir looks so agitated. His two eyes were unceasingly glancing towards the watch in his left hand. I hope time goes by quickly.

Stuart, the assistant, has repeatedly coded his bosses not to leave important meetings with Alister Corporation colleagues from various Asian and European countries.

Ever since she got the news that Rachel had locked herself in the room crying all night, her thoughts had gone awry, her heart was not even calm to be able to last any longer in her current place. Many times he called his wife but there was never an answer from there. Suppose he had the power of teleportation, of course he would disappear at that time and immediately embraced his wife's body and provided comfort to the woman he loved so much.

Without needing to correct himself, Mahavir realized that he was actually the one who had unsheathed the sword and wounded the woman. Everything was completely out of his estimation. It felt like he had immersed himself into the Thames River not far from his current location.

As soon as the meeting ended, Mahavir immediately ran away and left the meeting room. Leave Stuart to take care of all the remaining work.

Soon Mahavir was on the runway of Alister's family's private jet. Not waiting long for the private jet to take off, flying at high speed splitting the blue clouds.

At the same time, at 15:00 at Pak Wijaya's residence. Rachel just woke up from her sleep. Last night for him to cry so much that he blurted out all his regrets and just fell asleep this morning.

Rachel blinked her eyes, trying to clarify her vision. Both of his eyes looked swollen to make his eyeball look smaller, his breathing was still wheezing with his nose still flushed.

His hand groped into the nightstand beside the bed and grabbed his phone, seeing his there were a hundred more missed calls from Mahavir. Rachel called back but no note was heard.

Rachel got up staggered to open the room door and stepped out, but the dizziness in her head made her yawl and almost fell down. Bryan's sister who happened to come out of his room saw a limp-looking Rachel directly approach him and sweep him back to bed.

"This brother why the hell? Just make people bother." Grumbling Bryan while patting the pillow and putting it on the bed, Rachel followed Bryan's direction who positioned her body half-sitting against the pillow.

"So weak because you haven't eaten, wait here, don't lock the door again! Remember don't lock the door!!" Bryan's orders then move out of Rachel's room.

Bryan steps into the kitchen, commanding Bik Sumi to prepare food for Rachel. Then walk to Ms. Amitha's room.

"Mom, Rachel's sister is awake. He looks so fucked up." Bryan told his mommy who was on the phone, then he walked back to the kitchen.

"Ohh, said Bryan just now that he's awake, don't worry!" Ny Amitha spoke to her husband on the phone. Today the Prof. Wijaya Langdon was leading a seminar at a renowned Faculty in the capital. On the sidelines of his break he had time to call his wife to find out the news of his daughter. After disconnecting her phone, Ms. Amitha rushed to Rachel's room.

"Darling, are you okay?" Mrs Amitha asked Rachel shortly after sitting on the bedside.

Rachel just nodded slowly. Not long after, Bryan came in with a tray of food.

Bryan was seen frowning his forehead and snorting a little, annoyed at his only brother. Yesterday all day he went round and round looking for him until night. But even so Bryan still paid more attention to the woman who considered his ice block.

Ms. Amitha feeds the limp-looking Rachel. After eating a few spoons, Rachel fell asleep again.

"Your brother's asleep, don't make a fuss." Ms. Amitha's message whispered a little to Bryan who was sitting on her cell phone on Rachel's bedroom couch.

"I'll stay here with him, lest he wake up and lock the door again." Bryan threw his body on the couch and continued playing games on his phone.

"Yes, then you go with your sister first! Mommy wants to go see Catering and other preparations for tomorrow, later Mommy is picked up with daddy. So you don't wander anywhere! " Ny Amitha's orders were only answered by a nod by Bryan.

In the afternoon Rachel woke up with a feeling that was already mengingan. He saw Bryan who was sleeping holding his cellphone in his chest on the sofa near his bed. Rachel got up from her sleep slowly and went into the bathroom. Not long after she came out with a better appearance, her face had polished thin makeup even though it still looked slightly swollen in her eyes.

At 18:00, Bryan woke up and realized that his brother was not in the room. Bryan walked through the room on the second floor but did not find Rachel, then he went downstairs and only saw Bik Santi and Bik Sumi who were preparing dinner.

"So see Rachel's sister?" Ask Bryan.

"So non Rachel came out Bryan! Bik Santi had prevented him from going out but Bryan knew for himself how non-Rachel." Answer Bik Sumi.

"Why not wake me up?" Bryan scratched his head that was not itchy.

"So Bibik went to Bryan's room, but Bryan's mas wasn't there, we thought Bryan's mas wasn't home." Answer Bik Santi and Bik Sumi together.

"I fell asleep in Rachel's room."

Bik Santi and Bik Sumi looked at each other in wonder.

"Why can't Bryan not realize non-Rachel's gone??"

That's the thought of Bik Santi and Bik Sumi.

Bryan ran a small comb to the yard of the house and garage, Mahavir's white Porsche was no longer parked. Bryan ruffled his hair irritated that it was unthinkable for him to hide his brother-in-law's car keys.

"It was about 5pm in Bryan." Answer bik Santi.

"Damn!!! What other hassles did you give me, brother...! brother Vir come quickly, I am already unable to take care of your wife!!!" bryan swung his feet lazily towards his room, then took a shower and got ready to go back around looking for his troublesome brother.

A breeze blew away some of Rachel's hair strands to make her hair look a little messy. The sound of laughter of children chasing each other sounded screeching blaring, Even occasionally there are children who nudge his body when chasing.

That afternoon Rachel visits the Orphanage where Dirman grew up. It may be too late for her to know Dirman further, but Rachel's heart seems to be called to visit that place.

The Orphanage was not too big, but not too small. Enough to accommodate 100 Orphans. The building was semi-two stories tall and already looked bigger and cleaner than the last time he visited. Maybe because the home has been registered to the Foundation established by Pak Wijaya as a permanent recipient of financial assistance from donors.

Rachel is currently sitting on the bench in a small garden in the courtyard. He was still focused on looking through the contents of the photo album he was holding. Although it is a bit outdated but the appearance of old photos is still very clear.

"That's a picture of Dirman going to school the first day, that time he was very enthusiastic, he was running around and around asking mom to take pictures of him wearing school uniforms. Well, even though the uniform in the parlour was far from decent but she was determined to wear it." Mother Mirna said, the head of the Orphanage pointed to a photo featuring a child wearing a worn uniform with blue knee-length shorts that appeared to be sedentary on his squeaky body.

Rachel remembered. Dirman's appearance at that time stole the attention of one school, making himself a laughing stock and ridicule of the children of one school. Because of his circumstances so often he became a bully-an material.

Rachel slightly pulled the tip of her lips to reveal a thin smile on her face, but from the corner of her eyes was a clear crystal that almost fell.

Rachel flipped the album sheet, with another photo of Dirman holding a Rapt, with irregular wavy hair and a big smile showing her large, yellowish teeth.

Rachel turned her memory to remember the first time she saw Dirman. He was sure the first time he saw Dirman was not in school. Rachel squinted her eyes trying to recall more deeply. And...Well, at the crossroads of red lights. Rachel remembers vaguely, when there was a child who used to busking and selling candy in a car and he came down to treat his wounds. At that time, Dirman's eyes were looking at him closely.

"Ah that Dirman photo time can rank 10 in Pak Wijaya school." Ms. Mirna pointed to the photo earlier, casting a vague memory of Rachel.

"The Word even fasted for 3 days in a row because it could enter the top ten in the school which he said was like a palace. From the beginning he was very clever but he was a child who did not want to trouble people, every time there was assistance from the government to go to school, he said, he encouraged children smaller than him to register first. It was enough for him that he could read and count. But once Mr. Wijaya, Miss Rachel's father sent her to his big school he was very excited and did not reject her, he said his angel also attended school there. I don't know what angel that kid means." Said Ms. Mirna again explained with a sparkling face.

Rachel smiled bitterly again. Her eyes could not hold back her tears that almost fell. His chest felt tight again. Rachel quickly turned her face then blinked her eyes as if she was glimpsed by the wind.

"Oh yeah, since what age was Dirman in this parlour, Mom?" Rachel asked after she managed to stop the fall of her tears.

"She's been here since birth, her mother used to work and live here but died of illness, so she raised her with the other children. She's one of the proud children of the mother, she's very clever, brave and hardworking. According to the name given by his mother, Dirman Maha......" Miss Mirna's speech was interrupted because one of the children who was chasing had fallen and cried. Miss Mirna got up from her seat and carried the fallen child. "Miss Rachel had dinner here firstwell, we'd be very happy if Miss Rachel wanted to join us." Pinta Bu Mirna then walked into the building of the orphanage while carrying the child.

Rachel nodded thinly.

After the death of Ms Mirna he was still staring at the photos in his hands.

Her chest was still hot, she recalled how cruel her treatment to Dirman used to be just because she felt ashamed of being rivaled by a child far below her level, she felt jealous of him because he managed to grab the attention of her parents. Without Rachel realizing her tears fell down on the sheet of the photo album.

The day was getting dark, Rachel entered the Panti because of the invitation of Ms Mirna who was very expecting her to join dinner with the Orphaned children in her foster care.

In a rather large middle room, it appears that children are sitting lined up in long lines facing each other. In front of them are available cutlery with potluck side dishes. Before eating they chanted some prayers of gratitude for the food available to them.

Rachel's heart was filled once again. He remembered Mahavir's words the other day while at the diner.

"If you're hungry, you can't choose food. Besides I told you that I was raised in an orphanage!!"

He only realized the meaning of Mahavir's words. How valuable each form of food is. He himself felt embarrassed because he often felt disgusted by the food that may be expected by certain people.

After dinner with that. Rachel took a look inside the room where Dirman used to sleep, a room with an area of 3x2.5 meters. With 2 iron beds arranged on the left and right, and 2 plastic cabinets that have now been occupied by other children. Very contrasted with the appearance of the spacious room with a variety of luxurious furniture.

Mirna's mother said Dirman lived in the room until he was 18. Rachel imagined how such a narrow room could be occupied by 4 people.

Rachel had pretended to ask the whereabouts of Dirman at this time, but Miss Mirna just took a deep breath and smiled unwilling to give any answer.

Miss Mirna and Rachel had a long conversation until they forgot about time. At 09:00 p.m., Rachel left the Orphanage. He drove his white Porsche very slowly, going around the street that night aimlessly.

Bringing her thoughts along dissolved with her mood.
