"Good morning, Doc." Kana greets Arif who is enjoying his morning coffee while reading the patient file he brought home.
Kana's weak-sounding voice made Arif inevitably glance at Kana, and pay attention to the woman's movements. Something's weird about him. Unlike the Curut he had known in the space of these few days. The cut that Arif knows is a cute, cheerful and active Scream like a toddler who is active again. But this morning, he looked sad, unkempt, no strange behavior, no questions asked. There aren't.
Kana tends to avoid Arif's eyes, he immediately takes some of his cleaning equipment, broom, washcloth, liquid to clean the dust and his friends, but replies or asks Arif, why Arif saw it, why Arif, why Arif has not left for work, whether Arif has breakfast, and other unimportant questions.
Arif cleared his throat, trying to provoke Kana's attention. But Kana seemed to be silent.
What's wrong with her? Why so lethargic?
"Kana," In the end Arif started the interaction this morning with Kana.
"Yes, Doc?" kana replied in a lethargic tone. Really weird.
"You..." Actually Arif really wanted to ask if Kana was okay, but the prestige swallowed his concern. "Why did you leave me to someone else yesterday? What if I get eaten by someone else? What if I'm poisoned with someone else?"
"Sorry, Doc." It was all that came out of Kana's mouth while bowing her head.
Arif frowned. The usual cut will surely desperately explain the reason why he left the lunch of Arif on someone else. But, Curut who this time in front of him, just lowered his head without defending himself at all.
"I don't like it most when talking to other people, who are invited to see me" said Arif fishing Kana to lift his face.
And succeed.
Kana raised her face.
For some reason, seeing Kana's puffy and swollen eyes scrunched up Arif's heart. Cana's beautiful eyes were lost and left only a deep sadness and bitterness.
"You... okay?" ask Arif at the end. He could not help but endure his worries. Just yesterday he was worried about Kana. And this morning, the woman came in a state of no energy.
"I... " Instead of continuing her sentence, Kana covered her face with both hands, then a crying sound was heard along with a soft shock to Kana's frail-looking shoulder.
"Hey..." Arif stood up, approaching Kana, his hand outstretched to pat Kana on the shoulder. "Why you?" arif asked, his voice turning soft and attentive.
"I'm sorry, Doc, I'm so crying this way" Kana said as she rubbed her face with her palm.
Kana's lentic eyelashes moved wet from those tears. Suddenly, Arif's desire to hug and calm Kana. But common sense restrains his strange desire.
"What makes you cry like this? Look, your eyes are swollen like a bee sting" said Arif trying to give a joke, but not funny at all, Mr. Doctor.
And instead of providing calm, Kana crouched down, hugged her knees and cried again. And the phenomenon made Arif confused and even misbehaved himself.
"Hey, what's the matter? Did something happen in the village?" guess Arif.
Kana nodded.
"On your family?"
Kana shakes. "My family is fine."
"Then? Why are you crying like this?"
"This must be a reprimand for me because I once bragged in front of the Doctor. I'm sorry, yes, Doc." said Kana Pilu and sounded very regretful.
Hearing that made Arif confused. "When have you been that way to me?"
"I once mocked the Doctor when the Doctor pretended to call his girlfriend in front of the ex-Doctor" Kana said as she wiped her snot with her shirt collar. "Trus I told the Doctor, I have a girlfriend in the village and we're getting married."
"Did something happen to your boyfriend? Is he sick? Or... accident?"
Arif sighed, anxious with Kana's half-added explanation while crying a mouthful. Impatiently, Arif finally made Kana stand up and pulled Kana to sit on the chair instead of crouching. Arif poured a glass of cold mineral water and gave Kana a box of tissue instead of smearing tears and snot with his miserable clothes.
"Take it easy, then tell me what's going on" Arif said very seriously but also very gently.
Kana pulled a piece of tissue while looking at Arif in disbelief, "Doctor want to hear me vent?"
"Yes." Yeah."
"Why?"
"Because... " Well, why would I listen to him vent? Why do I care about his business? "Because if you are upset like this, your work will fall apart. I don't want my apartment not to be as clean as usual because you haven't let go of your sadness." replied Arif on the grounds that he made a rock but quite reasonable for Kana.
Kana regulated her breathing, calming herself down so as to no longer cry like a fool. After that, he downed his mineral water, then with puffy eyes and a faint sound, Kana told the story of betrayal that Danu and her best friend had committed. With all the emotions that Kana showed in every word she said, Arif listened to her carefully and wholeheartedly.
While secretly enjoying the scent of his personal morphine that was emanating from Kana.
"You're masculine?" Arif raised both eyebrows in disbelief with the story told by Kana. "Where did that jerk see your masculine side?"
Kana shook her head in a doldrums.
"I'm masculine. The apartment security guard under the masculine. But you? From what side are you masculine?" Arif is almost emotional in expressing his opinion.
"If he says you're too independent, I can understand. But masculine? Holy jeez!"
Kana's shoulders ducking lethargic.
"Believe it, you must be thankful that God opened your way of breaking up. Than later you marry the same son of a bitch like that."
"When I'm with Mas Danu has been dating for a long time, three years! As long as we are okay. But it turns out he's my own best friend pricks me. It hurts so bad, Doc!"
"Yes, I know what it's like to be betrayed by the people you trust." Because I have also been in a position like you. Huft.
"What should I do, Doc? I can't go back to the village and hit them, right? But, I do not accept the design of kayak gini. But, I have nothing to repay them." Again, Kana's voice trembled, her eyes back in tears.
"Is it because my family's a tough guy, huh, Doc, that's why people hurt us? Insult us? Troubled us? We are also human. Difficult people or not, I am also a human who can be hurt, right, Doc?"
Arif is stunned by Kana's revelation. Kana's simple thoughts made the educated Doctor seem to often lose the vocabulary in her head.
"Yes, you're right. Rich, poor, should respect each other and humanize each other."
"What should I do, Doc? I did not dare to call my family. They must be the scorn of the people in the village." Kana came back crying while covering her face with both hands.
"Hey," Arif pulled Kana's hand very gently and rubbed Kana's wet cheek, staring into the puffy eyes that hid the beauty within. "I can help you."
"Doctor want to help me?" ask Kana to repeat. Looking back at the gaze in Arif.
Arif nodded.
"How's it going, Doc?"
