Chapter 32's

"Doctor?" Kana was flabbergasted to see how Arif with a cold expression lifted Kana's body, carried her easily and led Kana out of the club.

Arif was silent a thousand languages even though Kana asked him to lower his body, until they were completely outside the building.

Without saying much, Arif told Kana to get into his car.

"Where are we going, Doc?" ask Kana wonder. "I still have to get back to work, Doc!"

But Arif was silent. He even started the car engine and drove away from the place just like that.

"Doctor! The doctor couldn't take me away! I will have to reprimand the boss if I go to work hours! Stop Doc! Doctor! Doctor Arif!"

"You won't be rebuked." replied Arif flatly. "Because you don't work there anymore."

"meaning? Wait, don't tell me I got fired for that?"

"You're not fired, but I'm asking your boss to no longer hire you there."

"What's? How could that be!"

"could. This proof can."

"But how is my salary? The rest of my contract?"

"Everything I've handled, you don't have to be dizzy."

"Well?!" Kana glares. "It can't be dong, Doc. That's my job, how can the Doctor be so the same as what has become my job!" Omel Cana's.

"Stop Doc! I have to go back there again." Kana asks, but does not respond by Arif. "Stop Doc, or I'll jump."

"Don't make a drama, Kana!" Said Arif, cold. "My teeth seem to be broken, and my gums seem to be bleeding because of it, so I ask you to recede and not much drama. We'll talk at home." Firm Arif.

An hour later, they reached Arif's apartment. The atmosphere was dim immediately brightly lit once Arif turned on the light switch. The condition of the apartment is not usually. Kana can see how Arif did not have time to fix his residence.

Arif went straight to the kitchen, took a glass of water with a mixture of salt for him to make gargles on the sink. Actually, Kana was itching to clean up the mess of the apartment. But he has to manahannya, there are more important things to discuss than cleaning the apartment.

"I paid you a fine and a penalty, so you don't have to go back to work there." Arif opened the conversation, because seeing it looks like Kana chose to close her mouth.

And Arif's statement was able to make the girl look at him with a clueless look.

"But why? Why did the doctor have to make me lose my job?"

"Someone hit you, and now I see for myself how you abused drunk people there. Then what should I do? Just shut up, will you? While your family knows I'm your future husband, what would your family say if I let my future wife work at the club as a cleaning service?"

Like someone pinched Cana's heart. Why is it, it feels sad to hear the reason Arif is solely because of his promise and their play in front of the Kana family?

"My family doesn't need to know where I work and what I do." replied Kana, turning her face away from Arif's face with wounds. If he did not turn his face away, he was afraid that he would take the medicine box and treat the wound, while he was now in a lashing mode.

Arif took a long breath. Regulate his emotions, control him so as not to come off and explode. He knows, Kana's self-limiting attitude begins because of Arif's own stupidity.

"Where," said Arif much more calmly. "I know I made a mistake, I scared you, I tainted your trust in me. I acknowledge my reckless stupidity that has been rash and offensive to you. But, there was not the slightest bit of my intention to hurt you. Instead, I want to be someone where you can feel safe and comfortable. Not feeling scared."

Kana was at a loss for words. He was eager to embrace Arif, to shed all his grief, tears and to tell him all the fears he had been craving all this time alone. But, the fact that Arif did all the good just because he thought about the words of his family, made Kana's heart break. He was tired, he wanted to lean.

"Do you think I'm just imaging?"

"Didn't it?"

"Do you think my request for you to marry me is just an image?"

"No, but it's a charade we agreed upon in front of my family."

Arif took a long breath. "Where..."

"Thank you Doctor for calling me. Tomorrow I will find a new job that will not damage the image of the Doctor. Excuse me for coming home now." Kana moved, turned around and was about to open the door, but Arif's long legs had brought her faster to reach the door and held it closed.

"Do you really think everything I do is just because of the imagery in front of your family?"

"Yes." Yeah."

"What never comes to your mind if I can do it because I want it. Because I really wanted to protect you. Because I want to take care of you. Because I'm in love with you."

Kana freezes. Losing her entire vocabulary in her brain, both her knees were limp but she had to endure to remain standing upright while Arif's gaze looked at her fixedly and deeply.

Silent.

There was only the sound of each heartbeat.

Jedug pauseg jedug!

"Doctor's joking!" Finally those two words escaped from Cana's lips. Refusing to believe, he did not want to dream too high, he was too afraid to fall from his dreams that were too high.

"Do I look like I'm joking?"

"But... Butwhy? I don't have anything, I'm not beautiful, I am..."

"You're perfect. To me, you're perfect." Gentle Arif. His big hand slowly grabbed Kana's hand, grasped it, squeezed it gently, sent a warm feeling and reassured Kana of feelings she could no longer ignore.

Warmth exploded between them, flowers blooming. Oh, for whatever sake, Kana really wants to believe Arif's sweet words. Really want him to believe that all the good that Arif did because he was in love, like what he said.

But, again the experience and fear in his heart made him trapped in a circle called the trust issue. Her ex-boyfriend also said something similar. She flattered Kana that she was the only woman she loved, the only woman who was perfect to be a wife. But what happens next, Danu wants to taste Kana's honor first before making it right, and when his goal is not achieved, betrayal ensues.

"Can I get a chance to prove my sincerity?"

Arif's heart slipped as soon as he felt Kana release her hand from Arif's grasp.

"Sorry." Just that one word came out of Kana's lips before leaving Arif with his erratic feelings.
