Part 16: Strong Women

Egnor and his father and aunty came out of the airport and wore his sunglasses because daylight in Honolulu was so hot. He didn't go straight home. He had to meet with Claudia at her lawyer's office. He also has to talk to Grace and Frank about Claudia's problem.

"Dad, you go home in this taxi with aunty. In a minute, Frank's gonna pick me up." Egnor said he stopped a taxi passing in front of the airport.

"All right, see you at home. Or are you gonna do something so you stay in your apartment?" John made sure before boarding the taxi that preceded by Anne.

"Yes Dad, I'll tell you if I go home or not." Egnor patted his father's back.

"Titip my regards to Claudia. Tell her, Viena sends her regards and she's invited to Viena's wedding later if it goes on!" John's message on the taxi.

"I know dad!" Egnor said briefly and helped his father board a taxi and closed the yellow car door. Her heart slightly shuddered at the name Claudia. She missed the woman so much considering hearing her voice that was full of panic yesterday.

He stared at the sunlight that was so stinging to his eyes even though he was already wearing sunglasses. What are you doing now, Clau? Egnor thought in his heart. Not long after Frank arrived to pick him up. Egnor climbed into the front seat and removed his sunglasses.

"How's Frank?" Ask Egnor to the point.

"Nicolas poses a new threat, sir." Frank replied, knowing what his master meant.

"What threat?"

"He showed a video of Mr. Jack Gie, Claudia's uncle, abusing a young girl. He wanted to show Claudia that Claudia would do whatever she wanted. If Claudia doesn't comply, she'll hand over the video to the authorities to sue Mr. Jack." Frank's words made Egnor take a sharp glance at the deputy director of his lawyer's office.

"Joe has paid off all of Mr. Jack's debts and interest but he seems to want to have Claudia. Just for your info, Nicolas is also a great class pimp in Honolulu. He's being protected by the man who told him to find a paid woman for him." Added Frank.

Egnor took a breath. The woman is in danger. He has to do something. But he cannot go wrong. He's not the only greatest man in Honolulu.

"For a while keep an eye on him. I hate running prostitution cases. There will be no end. Give the supervision to Claudia as well. I don't want anything to happen to him. Youunderstand?" That was what Egnor had commanded.

"Okay Sir!"

He can't be rash. He didn't want to deal with the people behind Nicolas. He's convinced that the guy might be one of his clients. As long as Nicolas hasn't done anything of the sort to Claudia he'll let her go first.

They arrive at the lawyer's office and Egnor heads straight to his study while Frank parks his car in the basement.

"Where's Claudia, Grace?" Egnor's question rushes in and sees Claudia not on his desk.

"He went back after getting the overtime money back then sir. I want to follow him but I want to meet you to tell you what I got after one day yesterday watching him Mr." Grace walked up from her seat and stood in front of her master's desk.

"Say Grace!"

"Yes, Claudia yesterday headed to the bank after she received a suspicious phone call Mr. He said from his friend, but I heard him calling uncle. I asked the manager and he sent money to a man named Jack Gie. Such was the account name that Claudia was aiming for." Grace reported in detail.

"Jack Gie?" Egnor narrowed his eyes. He remembered Frank saying the same name earlier. Jack is in a relationship with Claudia. Her thought.

"Yes, Jack Gie. Maybe she still has a relationship with Claudia considering Claudia's last name is also Gie, Mister?" Grace assured.

"He's Claudia's uncle." Answer Egnor briefly.

At that moment Frank entered the room. Egnor rubbed his face rough. He was quite frustrated to hear Claudia's mounting troubles and the woman didn't even say it in the slightest. He misses that woman very much.

"What's Grace?" Frank, who realizes the anger of his boss, asks his fiancee.

"Claudia sent money to a man named Jack Gie. Do you know?" Short story of Grace. Frank came to understand what was going through his master's mind.

"Looks like he's the source of all this, sir. Do I need to investigate, sir?" Bargain Frank.

"Yes, investigate Frank quickly!" Egnor answered to his little pantry to take a glass of water.

"Okay Sir! Excuse me I'll call the lawyer's office in Oriental." Frank immediately followed his master's orders.

"Frank, wait!" Egnor turned around and headed to his desk again. Frank is still waiting for his master's orders.

"Trace Claudia's whereabouts now!" Egnor's orders combine his hands.

"Piuft, all my money's gone. Now I just expect my daily money and my food stock in the fridge. Good thing, Brother Egnor invited me to eat, hihi.. when did he come home? I miss him so much." Claudia muttered sitting in the waiting seat of the bus stop in front of the bank.

He wasn't waiting for the bus. He lamented his fate. She did not expect that her aunt would be sick after her death. He hasn't spoken to his aunt. If his uncle contacts him, he will ask his uncle to talk to his aunt.

He stood for a moment staring at the stinging afternoon sun. He had to walk to the lawyer's office. He hoped that Egnor had not returned even though he missed so much. Just facing Grace is easy. Claudia chuckles remembering it. He then explored his feet down the sidewalk and felt the sun but he felt a shadow behind him. The shadow of the shadow is like covering it from the sunlight that highlights its head. He turned his head and saw a man wearing a suit with his hands in his pockets.

"Nobody Egnor?" Call Claudia and turn her body to look at the man who is now settled in her heart.

"Hey!" Sapa Egnor smiled faintly.

"You've come home, brother? Why didn't you tell me?" Claudia asked narrowing her eyes.

"I just came home to the office and this way accidentally saw you walking in such an uncertain direction, what's wrong?" Egnor's answer is lying. Frank tracked Claudia down and informed her of her position to her master. Egnor takes his car to the bank and sees Claudia sitting at the front stop.

"It's okay, brother, I'm out of the bank. Saving." Claudia also lied. He bowed his head concealing his face, afraid that Egnor might feel the turmoil he felt.

"Saving?" Egnor glanced at his eyebrows.

"Yes, saving for the future." Claudia replied in a daze as her feet kicked a small stone rock near her feet.

"All right, then what are you walking for? You didn't get on the bus?" Egnor asked again intending to pry into ngorek, who knew Claudia was speaking involuntarily but it turned out that Claudia was thinking faster to answer well all the investigations of the shrewd lawyer.

"Eng, I just want to enjoy the road this way, considering you haven't come home yet, so I'm kind of slowing down hihi, I'm sorry sis.."

Don't you? Claudia replied very calmly while giving a joke to Egnor.

"Sound! Save but do not set aside a little money to ride the bus!" Decak Egnor quipped Claudia and stared at the big road. Egnor squinted his eyes due to the excessive sun.

Claudia fell silent. He felt guilty for always lying to Egnor. I don't know when he dared to tell me everything.

"It's noon. Have you had lunch?" Ask Egnor again and now to pay attention to the woman.

"Not yet!" Claudia replied but she closed her mouth like she had unconsciously said so.

"I mean already brother!" Claudia. Egnor would have been suspicious if he hadn't had lunch. Egnor shook his head and turned around.

~Justify? I can have lunch with Egnor, hihi!~ Claudia murmured in heart while chuckling softly.

They enter a rather exclusive oriental-style restaurant. Their dining room was like a simple yet elegant wooden room. This restaurant is designed for those who want privacy to enjoy its fine dining. Claudia was quite amazed down the corridor of the restaurant leading to the room room that Egnor wanted. A waiter showed me his room.

Egnor had already ordered some shusi, two bowls of udon and green tea because Claudia only answered anything when Egnor asked what he wanted to order.

"Sister, can't you eat in an ordinary place? It must be very expensive!" Claudia was amazed who still noticed the ornaments of the room that was light brown mixed with dark brown.

"It's better the money is for me so that I don't call anymore." Claudia muttered quietly and it turns out that Egnor heard it.

"Ehem, what did you say Clau?" Egnor cleared his throat in response to Claudia's murmur.

"Ah no brother! I was amazed by all the design of this restaurant. So privacy and elegant. Uh, why did you bring me here? You're not thinking like that, brother?" Suddenly Claudia looked at Egnor seductively but covered her chest with both hands.

"You want to?" Ask Egnor back to flirt.

"Don't you see in the corner there's a cctv?" Claudia glanced towards the cctv in the upper corner of the room.

"I can outsmart him, you want to try?"

"Here, this place is so narrow, brother, we will not be free to do it! Later in my apartment!" Claudia replied pulling down her eyebrows while responding to her love lawyer's temptation.

"Em, so sister how's Vienna doing? Have you given my regards to her?" Claudia asked propped up her chin and looked at Egnor.

"Yes, I've already delivered it. He also sends you a greeting." Egnor answered and looked at Claudia.

"What's up, brother? Why are you looking at me like that?" Claudia asked who felt Egnor's gaze hunting her.

"How are your Uncle and Aunt? Didn't you live with them yesterday? You didn't call her, did you?" Egnor asked back to make Claudia display a tense mimic and could not believe that Egnor asked this. Egnor purposely asked this hoping that Claudia would share her problems with him. However, it seems that Claudia has no intention to say it.

"Huh? My Uncle and Aunt? They, they're fine, brother!" Claudia replied somewhat. He then bowed his head and thought of his aunt who was currently sick. It was like he was telling Egnor why he was so restrained.

Along with that, Frank contacts Egnor.

"Yes?"

"Sir, Joe just found out, said the old woman who suggested Claudia work with you, Claudia's aunt is sick and in the hospital. One of our Oriental lawyer office workers I asked also said it's been almost a month since the bakery closed. He said the owner of the shop was ill. There's no mistaking it, it's Claudia's Aunt, sir. Mrs Siren Gie." Frank said there.

"Ehem!" Egnor cleared for a moment. She had not expected it to turn out that Claudia was hiding all the anxiety towards her aunt to her. He looked at Claudia who was still bowing her head and looked grim. Egnor really felt that this woman in front of him was incredibly strong.

"Continue investigating deeper now! Meet me at my apartment in an hour." That's all Egnor replies and closes the call. Soon their food arrived.

They ate in silence with the look of an unyielding Egnor looking at Claudia's sad and grim-looking face.

After they finished eating, when they came out of the room, Egnor took Claudia's hand out of the restaurant. Claudia's heart thumped feeling Egnor's hand that was able to scoop up all of her small hands. There was a bit of calmness in Claudia who thought about the cost of Siren hospital.

Egnor dropped Claudia off at the gate of his lawyer's office. Without saying anything, Egnor headed straight for his apartment. Claudia looked at Egnor's car away with a sore heart. He wanted to hold Egnor back and hugged and leaned on Egnor, but there seemed to be some important business that Egnor had to do, he thought. Finally, he returned to his study.

Arriving at the apartment, Egnor immediately burst in because he believed Frank was inside. Frank has the spare key to Egnor's apartment.

"What pain is he?" Egnor's question looked riled up.

"Endocarditis, infection of the lining of the heart." Answer Frank. Egnor remembers his late mother.

"Is it bad?"

"It looks like there's been a complication to the brain and damage to the kidneys, sir." Added Frank.

"Oh God!" Egnor holds his forehead. He was really traumatized by an illness that led to complications. And all this is being borne by the woman he loves.

"Look, you'll set up an account in Jonathan's name to pay for Mrs Siren's hospital treatment. Do it neatly, lest anyone find out that this is my command! And you need to see the doctor who handled him to give Aunt Claudia the best treatment, don't mention your name, there's only Jonathan's name, you understand?" Egnor's orders stared intently and firmly at Frank.
