They again continued down the underground path, their current atmosphere seemed so awkward as Ludi who looked so lethargic and gloomy walked in front of them.
Edgar looks so grim as well as he walks in the back watching Ludi, as he only finds out that Ludi has lost a younger brother, he felt unable to say a word of condolence or words that could comfort him, an impolite thing he said discussed his family directly with Ludi when they were new to him.
But it seems that the owner of the tavern had known Ludi long enough, because Edgar felt they looked so close to Ludi who seemed to respect him, he realized that the two of them at least knew him well.
Edgar sped up his pace to walk beside the store owner's Uncle. He realized that Edgar was approaching next to him made him notice the face of Edgar who was watching him.
“What do you want to ask young man?”
Ask the store owner's uncle to him who realizes that Edgar seems to want to ask him something.
“I just want to know, before you said his sister Ludi suffered the fate of children earlier. What happened to him?”
“That was quite a long time ago, when I met him 6 years ago in the village of Yatan a village on the border of Nordem which is now the territory of the Kingdom of the Federation of Hord.”
“Hord Federation? Isn't that a fraction of the Kingdom of Nordem?”
“Ya, 8 years ago Nordem experienced a crisis that caused a civil war in his kingdom to form a new kingdom.”
Said the Uncle explained to him, Edgar recalled that he knew the two kingdoms even though it was quite strange to hear Nordem had a civil war conflict in this life, Nordem, which is in the northernmost part of Blume, is now in the 3 kingdoms directly adjacent to it. The Rosen Kingdom to the south, the Hord Federation to the east and Sonne to the southeast.
“Then what happened to his village now?”
“Because the civil war raging makes the kingdom unstable with evil where - where, the village where he lived in the ravine and on earth was scorched by a group of mountain bandits.”
The shop owner's uncle gave an unexpected answer to hear, he did not think that the event happened to him. But from hearing that made Edgar feel understood the reason Ludi in other lives always hunted the bandits.
“Simply, he had a bad thing in front of his eyes .. meaning you used to be a resident of Nordem Uncle?”
Edgar asked, curious about him, because he saw the store owner Uncle who looked like a Nordem resident in general,
“I don't know, rather 6 years ago I was saved by those two brothers. At that time they found me floating in the river, and I was living with his family, at that time I could not save anyone, until finally only we both survived and now settled in Rosten.”
The answer sounded so serious looking at Edgar. What he said sounded like the truth if he judged himself to be experiencing things that sounded impossible to most people.
“So you said that you don't remember anything, what about the last name or memory you had?”
“Nothing, Ludi only called me Uncle until now, so other people also called me by his name.”
Edgar was curious, he saw well - both the face of the store owner Uncle tried to remember - remember what exactly he had met this Uncle in his other life because he had been with Ludi for a long time.
But Edgar did not know the face of Uncle the owner of this shop, Edgar felt that there was a history that changed again like about the death and kidnapping of his two siblings.
Edgar's current feelings were so mixed up, though, he felt relieved to hear the past story of what happened to his friend but on the other hand he felt concerned about hearing the past story of the two of them who were not so good.
It was just that this time they were so shocked to see the little boy and the woman who filled every room behind bars along the underground street they saw.
“Please me!”
Shouted the woman from behind her iron bars who consciously saw Edgar and his group were walking about to pass through.
This woman's clothes looked thicker made from sheep fur, unlike residents who live in slum districts that usually wear other materials, either from cotton fleece or leather, which is put together into clothing. Although it looks dirty but saw it makes Edgar know that he is a regular resident who lives in the immigrant district or lives around the city plaza.
“Return from there, this will surprise you a little.”
Said the store owner's uncle asking the woman to retreat away from the bars she was holding. The shop owner's uncle again forcibly opened the locked padlock with an axe to free him.
“Thank you rescuer, I did not expect that someone would save us.”
The woman immediately ran to hug the tavern owner's Uncle who freed her she was hugging so tightly that she looked towards Edgar and Ludi, her face looking like asking the two of them to do something.
“Uncle please release the others as well, and can you tell us what happened miss?”
Edgar asked as he approached her to let go of her embrace from the shop owner's Uncle and continued to free the others along with Ludi who followed him. Edgar looked back at him curious, wanting to find out why they were inside here.
Edgar asked Silvi's bottle to give to the dehydrated woman with her dry lips just like the little boy they had met, the woman looked so thirsty that she made the bottle feel so light.
“They did something to us! I've been in this place for two weeks, once a day we'll be knocked unconscious by them and they do something I don't know what it is!”
The longer the woman tells her story, the more she screams hysterically, she has no idea what happened, but maybe her body still remembers the horrible thing that happened to make her that way.
“Quiet miss, calm down you are safe now. Means if I cross this road will I find the entrance to their base?”
“Iya, in that corner you will find the stairs up to the top.”
Edgar holding his shoulder tried to calm down while glancing towards the neck of the woman had the same scar as what he had seen from the little boy before.
“Are you aware of it also Silvi?”
Said Edgar seeing Silvi who was next to him also aware of the scar on the neck of the woman, Silvi replied to nod her head if she realized the scar she saw was the same.
“How about the fairy spirits do they know something?”
Edgar asked back at Silvi who was trying to think, the fairy spirits felt that they knew nothing about the scar, Silvi just shook her head answering Edgar's question.
“Edgar! catch the beast.”
Suddenly Edgar heard the uncle who owned the shop in the middle of the bar at him which made him turn to look at them. He saw something black flying so quickly drifting towards him that it made him reflexively take out a sword and slash at him, his slash made the flying black blob split in two and vanish just like that Edgar felt like slashing a shadow not feeling his sword hit something despite seeing the black gump clearly.
