The Land Of Thorns

The Land Of Thorns
Rosten City part 3

‘Should ... This little alley right?’

Edgar had reached the alley that the merchant was referring to, this small alley looked even fainter than the small alley he had previously passed by and looked even more seedy and dirty, it looked even fainter, not expecting this alley to look like it was in a slum district.

He tried to enter the place although not quite sure where the blacksmith he was looking for was there, and he realized that the people behind him were the ones who had been following him ever since he exited the plaza area.

‘What do they want from me?’

There were 3 people who followed him, with the face of the big-bodied sangar even though there were 1 person whose body seemed smaller than the two of them.

Along this alley looks so quiet with many small alleys that branch each street like a labyrinth, and also the buildings here look closed like no one lives in this place.

‘...., such a good place to trap people ... only 2? Where's the other one?’

That's what Edgar thought when he saw this small alley, Edgar realized the disappeared man was in front of him and he was walking towards him. And he was clearly watching Edgar closely.

“Hoi a-son mu-da! Looks like, you got lost ... need help?’

‘I think more need your help. I better ignore them and walk through.’

The fierce man who was small in front of him seemed to call even though he looked stifled because Edgar was sure that this small man ran around a small alley to ambush him.

“Hoi! I ... talk to you! … Arrest him!

But because Edgar just ignored it made the small-bodied man look annoyed to pay attention while still adjusting his breath.

“So what do you want?”

“...”

“What the two of you did not bring drinks, your friend seems to need help.”

The two big men holding him seemed to be silently waiting for the small man who was still adjusting his breath, seeing that Edgar knew that the chairman was the small man, only that Edgar deliberately mocked him.

The small man looked back with a fierce face as his breathing returned to normal, Edgar felt he did not want to start a fight because it would only cause riots that might be heard by soldiers who would later cause problems for him.

‘What are they robbers?’

Not to mention that Edgar did not know what their purpose was if they were a man to arrest him Edgar felt that it was impossible that at this time the situation was so silent it seemed awkward, and if they were robbers maybe Edgar would give them peace money. Edgar felt the present was not good to make a problem if there was a more peaceful way.

“Send all your money!”

“Don't all! Just take a few from that money bag. I also need to eat.”

Edgar looked so calm that he made the 2 big people pay attention to him quite astonished while the small man seemed to be focusing on finding the money mat in question which he had not found.

“...., where is the money?”

“Ya, bagged the money.”

“Aren't you having gold coins? Where are you hiding?”

“Yes I hid it in that bag, is it as clear as it can not you li...”.

Edgar who had not noticed when the small man was looking for his money bag was so surprised to see for himself the money bag was not in place that he usually tied the belt near his sword.

“Cih, looks like the Trader is lying. He's just a crazy guy!”

Edgar was so surprised that he kept silent because it was the only money he had at this time without any other income, since he was always at home whereas he did not get any alimony from the castle not to mention he could not go out to start a business or anything to find another source of income. It makes Edgar like he was thinking remembering where he dropped it.

‘...., ah That girl who only touched me after from plaza.’

Edgar recalled that when he was holding the girl who fell with him not to mention the awkward feeling he felt while helping her.

“But this she sword looks good, it looks like it is expensive if it is sold.”

“Hoi! What you ... do!”

Edgar reflex kicked the small man before him as he was about to take his sword, which caused the small man to bounce back.

Edgar shows his pouting face feeling so annoyed with the girl he helped stole from him. Coupled with 3 stupid bandits who ruined the scene.

Tacks!

He heads a large man to his right who makes him release Edgar for enduring the pain in his nose. His free right hand made it easy to give a jab to the jaw of the big man on his left who made the big man also endure the pain.

“You guys are robbers like what not to carry a gun.”

“You are only lucky because we are off guard, there is no need to use weapons just to finish you!”

“Oh, do you mean to crackle? Not that it's even a cheap trick!”

The small man signaled the other two to attack, which made the two big men attack together.

Edgar ran up to the big man on his left back to do a jab towards his jaw, The man seemed to suspect that Edgar would do that and prepared to protect his face with both hands which was only an opportunity for Edgar to change the direction of his blow towards the man's big belly.

“Arghhh!”

The punch made him bow to make Edgar strangle him with his wrist and when another big man approached him, Edgar kicked him with a second use the big Man who choked him as a pedestal. The kick was strong enough to make it bounce into the wall of the building.

“This big guy is like a bull wants to butcher!’

The big man he strangled seemed to resist trying to break away and make Edgar take pains to hold his giggles and pull out his strength until the veins of his arms appeared to be visible until the big man fainted from difficulty breathing.

“Before I heard that you got information from Traders huh. So you guys conspired to do something bad like this. This city looks bad!”

“You know, you really make my day not so good!”

The small man did not answer but saw his behavior as if he was preparing to hit, making Edgar prepare if he at any time hit him.

‘Ha! That's it .. The deaf girl!’

Edgar saw the girl emerge from an alley running and hit the small man until they both bounced. The girl looked quick - quickly woke herself up and continued herself swiftly running away.

Edgar ignored the three of them who were still on the ground chasing after the girl who was running so fast down this small alley.

‘Didn't he run too fast for someone carrying a big bag!’
