The Land Of Thorns

The Land Of Thorns
Unexpected meeting part 3

When they returned to the tavern, the visitors were seen watching them return, but not with the cold gaze as when Edgar and Ludi walked in.

The gaze of visitors this time seemed to admire the beauty of Silvi who immediately became a prima donna in this tavern because nothing beats its charm, moreover, the men here seemed to be a crybaby that made them look like fools when they saw it.

‘They're right jerk!’

It was in the mind of Edgar and Ludi who looked sullen looking at the men - men who had previously stared coldly at them as they walked into this place, now it looked different when it saw Silvi who was with them.

It was so painful for Edgar that their gazes seemed unsuspecting to Silvi, so different when they looked at her.

The three of them sat in the same place with the whole food that was already cold because they had not touched them at all.

“So do you not want to introduce your woman to me?”

But Ludi said that while looking at Silvi who was sitting opposite to him while moving her eyebrows she teased. His gaze made Silvi feel at a loss as to how to answer him and made her repeatedly glance at Edgar like asking for help.

“His name is Silvi, and she's not my woman. We just met.”

Edgar answered with a flat face refuting the question of Ludi who repeatedly moved his eyebrows up and down looking still want to tease him, because he saw them alone in a small alley before.

“Now met but you guys are that close, come on, guys. Are you lying?”

“...”

Edgar just replied silently showing the same expression looking at Ludi.

“Haa! Looks like you are indeed an expert in making others familiar to you?”

Seeing such Edgar made Ludi understand that he was serious about answering him, although Ludi seemed disappointed to not be able to tease him anymore.

“Then what do you want to talk to me ... hear your tone, it seems so important?”

“Before that Ludi there is something I want to ask first..”.

Ludi looked at him so seriously feeling curious waiting for the question to come out of Edgar's mouth.

“What are you ... drunk?”

“No hoi! I'm still 70% aware ... is that all you want to ask?”

“Not, I'm just making sure.”

Edgar chuckles while joking at him because he thinks Ludi previously seemed to be under the influence of alcohol and would feel useless if he did not remember this conversation.

Edgar continued to speak but in a bigger voice than usual.

“...., do you feel disturbed by bandits lodged in this city?”

“Don't I have said before that they are always unsettling and so arrogant as to feel they have legal protection in this city.”

“Then, how about I offer a solution?”

Ludi who answered seemed a little upset because Edgar's joke had previously arrived - suddenly gave a glance to look into Edgar's eyes when he said he offered a solution.

“You are crazy Edgar, the soldier in charge of securing the city just turned a blind eye when they acted. Who are you?”

“No matter who supports them. Provided they do not know who attacked it is more than enough.”

Hearing that made Ludi seem to be thinking.

Edgar sees visitors to the surrounding tavern, most of them mercenaries are seen watching Edgar for hearing his talk. Edgar knew that they would definitely notice, exactly what he expected.

‘Why does he look creepy’

While Silvi looked clueless and astonished because seeing Edgar who was watching the surrounding visitors with a smile seemed to grin making Silvi long - long felt something uncomfortable seeing her like that.

“Interesting ... so what's your plan?”

Hearing Ludi's reply suddenly made Edgar stop looking at the surroundings with such a smile and refocus on him replied in a whisper this time.

“.., performing surprise attack on their headquarters.”

“But I told you before that we are not warriors, how can you convince others to get into your plans.”

“Of course I will give you an offer they cannot refuse and of course with the addition of a bread and wine.”

The answer is solid.

‘But why surprise attack never occurred to them?’

Edgar also understood that they really had a problem with bandits because they saw other visitors looking curious to notice the three of them whispering, like being interested in hearing what he was planning.

Seeing Silvi watching him from earlier made Edgar remember that he had not returned the money and made Edgar touch his hand to speak.

‘As long as it touches, it can make you hear not this way?’

‘Iya I can hear you, although this requires more power.’

‘Can you return my money now, I need it.’

‘It's in my bag. I'll get you a minute.’

‘Tasmu isn't that the big one? Where did you leave it?’

Hearing him made Edgar realize that before Silvi brought a bag so big that it looks abnormal and since then the bag looks not with him it also makes Edgar think that he hid the bag somewhere place of.

‘Why can it be so small once now?’

‘Did you forget I was a witch?’

But how surprised Edgar when he saw Silvi take the bag out from under his cloak, he saw a bag as big as a drink glass on the table and took out a bag of money which was the same size as the bag.

‘Magic correctly efficient.’

Seeing that only made Edgar turn his head in awe and swallow his own saliva as Silvi smiled at him.

“You said she wasn't your woman, but it looks like what I saw doesn't look like you said!”

Excited Ludi who arrived called Edgar because he saw the two of them look so close, with his eyes that consciously saw there was a bag of money and the bag was on the table, although he did not seem to see when the money bag was taken out of the bag.

“I'm talking to him.”

“Why did Silvi from earlier just stay quiet?”

“Actually he was struck by a curse that made the surrounding sounds disappear, so he could neither speak nor hear.”

“Curse? How is it possible?”

Edgar paused to turn his gaze back to see Silvi as if asking for her approval to tell her who Silvi really was.

‘Tell me it's okay, Fairy spirit told me that you believe it.’

‘Looks like Fairy Spirit knows more about me huh.’

‘Yes, even he asked me to believe in your plan even though I don't understand why he sounds sorry to me.’

Actually, Edgar had thought to tell Ludi, because Edgar knew that Ludi was not someone who likes to tell the secrets of others when in other lives, he said, but Edgar only made sure that Silvi agreed or not.

“What I'm saying right now is the truth and don't be surprised if I say she's a witch.”

“Ha! Witches really exist ... You're kidding right?”

“...”

Edgar answered him in silence again and was seen watching him with a serious expression nodding his head slowly.

“This is interesting Edgar, it seems like people like you will always pull something unexpected. I'm following your plan!”

“Good, by the way - what I said about Silvi please keep it a secret for now because Silvi will be an important factor in this plan.”

“I understand that .. because he's a witch right!”

“Actually not that, but just look at it later!”

Edgar shook his head as he answered Ludi, followed by himself rising from his seat and taking his money bag planning to start his plan to make this tavern visitor his ally.

Brakk!

The voice came from the entrance of the tavern where a person with a fierce face walked so arrogantly with the two people behind him following, Edgar felt familiar with that face.

‘Three stupid bandits, what kind of luck is this.’

Edgar immediately quickly - quickly sat back in his chair and put on the hood of his robe covering his face, what he did made the two of them notice so astonished moreover he seemed to look back smirking.

It was just that this time he smiled like that while looking at Silvi, which made Silvi goosebumps and cold sweat feel something unpleasant when Edgar saw her like that.
