The Land Of Thorns

The Land Of Thorns
Night length part 5

“For the goddess of protection! You surprised me Edgar.”

Edgar's appearance with a bounce like flying towards him made Ludi surprised to see it.

“Can't you directly target those who hold us there Ludi!”

“Stupid! ... I can't shoot them well without heights. Do you want me to shoot my own friend!”

Ludi reflexively headed Edgar with his head. What Ludi did made Edgar speechless, and at the same time Ludi also saw Edgar seemed to look so serious with his words that seemed to forget that there was no way a single missed shot would hurt his own friend.

Edgar seemed not to think of Ludi heading his head even though Ludi's header made him feel pain, but Edgar seemed to think of something else.

‘Truely too, it would be too risky if it reduces our number.’

What Edgar thought while still silent, Edgar previously only thought what was said sounded natural nothing was wrong, no matter what, but after hearing what Ludi said made him think there was a point given their meager numbers and without a second thought Edgar immediately pulled Ludi to follow him.

“Let those who shoot, use this hitter help me corner those who come out of the warehouse!”

Edgar said as he ran and took the bat from the bandit he had previously crushed.

“What really happened on the south side of Ludi?”

Edgar, who was still running, seemed confused to see Ludi because he did not understand why their attack was known to the bandits.

They both threw punches and slashes at the bandits who were unaware that they were both behind him.

“Our part is not so lucky, we attacked when the supervisor at post 3 was changing guard turn!”

Obviously Ludi answered Edgar's question while throwing a punch on the face of the bandits who ran over him

The attacks on both sides left the bandits at a disadvantage since they had previously intended to ambush from behind the group that was fighting in the gap of the road, but the situation was so reversed.

The keg!

“Damn what my attack didn't make him feel anything?”

The voice that sounded when Ludi tried to throw a punch at the head of the bandit who was wearing iron armor, his punch only made the bandit a little surprised because he heard the sound so loud behind his head protection.

But Ludi who saw his attack made the bandits become surprised to hear the resulting sound, which was, making him hit continuously without stopping until the bandit looked dizzy and smoothly made him faint as Silvi shot a strong gust of wind towards his face.

After they finished off the bandits who had come out of the warehouse without any residue, they quickly ran towards the group that was still fighting in the gap of the road leading to the entrance. The fight in this crack seemed so fierce, the bandits seemed to still hold back without knowing that their ambush troops had been wiped out.

The bandits that were on top of the wall seemed to be still hiding, shooting arrows at them did not cause such an impactful effect, either, but at least it overwhelmed them unable to counterattack or attack the group that was below them.

“We have to change plans! It will be difficult to penetrate through the front door!”

Shouted Edgar when he got behind the group that attacked the road gap, Edgar who saw the fight here seemed to take a long time which feared would cause other problems.

“What are you planning young man!”

‘What this uncle monster!’

That's what Edgar thought when he saw Uncle the tavern owner so easily beat a bandit whose body was as big as his.

“We are outnumbered, but this gap can help us hold them, I think we should go through the back door.”

“Good, we will follow your plans again young man! I hope you hold them well, I know that you love your lives more, but if you leave this place don't expect you to see the sun tomorrow.”

Shouted the shop owner's uncle seemed to be talking to the other mercenaries, his words made them seem excited and also trembling in fear, seeing them like that made Edgar and Silvi seem confused.

The shop owner's uncle came out of the group line that was in the gap, he planned to follow Edgar through the back door in question.

“Let the others here to keep the bandits busy, it'll be free if they find out that we ambushed them! … What are you waiting for?”

Said the store owner's uncle again, reassuring that only a small group needed to ambush the bandit headquarters from the back door, making sure that it only needed a small group to ambush the bandit headquarters from the back door, He suddenly pulls Ludi and signals Edgar and Silvi to follow them.

The four of them ran towards the building that Ludi found as the secret entrance of the bandit headquarters, they saw a different building from the other buildings. This building seems to have no windows at all even though it looks like a house.

The store owner's uncle immediately forced open the door of the building, smashed the door with an axe he brought, they entered the building and found a room that had a ladder leading underground.

“I didn't expect to go underground! I think this building is straight through to their headquarters, I think my arrows are useless here.”

“No one knows it Ludi, but if this is the only way in we are forced to pass this place anyway what is the use of the hitter you held from earlier?”

Said the shop owner's uncle when he saw Ludi who seemed surprised not to think that this secret road made them have to browse the basement that looks narrow and dark makes Ludi feel uncomfortable seeing the place.

“Will there be another trap in here? What do you think, young man?”

Asked the shop owner's uncle who saw Edgar looking silently at the stairs leading down.

“I don't know about it uncle ... Silvi, is there any magic that can detect traps or such?

Edgar throws the question which makes Silvi notice the motion of Edgar's lips to find out what he said.

‘I don't know that kind of magic, but if this room is narrow enough I think I can give you an idea of what's inside with the magic I'm using.”

Silvi said in Edgar's mind as she touched him, what they both did made the shop owner's Uncle feel like waiting not understanding.

“What do they do Ludi?”

“I think they're talking.”

“How can it?”

“The story is long Uncle, but the point is he's a witch!”

Ludi's words briefly answered the curiosity of the shop owner Uncle who still did not understand what Ludi said about the witch.
