The Im Not Main Character
Secret Eyes Alda (Alda Illustration)

Dungeons had a distinctive moist aroma and carried a terrifying feeling. It was a place created and maintained with great magic energy to preserve monsters as well as Beasts.

Arcturus is currently exploring it with Lifana who uses his greatest form today.

In a short time the little snake was already almost the size of an adult python. On this trip, he ate a small beast of a mouse.

“Papa I don't want to eat raw monsters anymore! This is not good for my digestion!”

Even Beasts can be picky as well. Arcturus had no idea how he was doing, cooking monsters was also not an option. Processing is not easy and will take a lot of time.

“It sure feels that bad?”

“I don't understand either. All I felt was like swallowing cold water but leaving a bad taste.”

It was a difficult parable to understand but Arcturus had a lot of knowledge. He has a pretty good hypothesis.

“Maybe you didn't actually have to eat that corpse. Putting aside monsters, usually Beasts have a Core in their bodies.”

In the Beast's body there is a crystal containing the essence of mana and the power of the Beast. Usually people would hunt Beasts to obtain those crystals. Either for sale or as a weapon.

“I'm sure you can feel something different from the Beast's body. Sometimes there are Beasts whose crystals can be seen from the outside, there are even hidden within his body.”

The stronger the Beast, the rarer and higher its existence the crystal would provide great benefits. For this reason, Lifana's identity must be kept secret.

Even if people did not expect to make a contract with him, they would still expect his Core.

“Then whatever I have is in the body, papa?”

Arcturus nodded, “You certainly have one. Don't you feel anything strange in your body?”

Lifana should have known naturally if Arcturus was fishing for him. Just like Spica who lured Lifana to shrink his body.

“Yes I feel it!”

“Then take good care of it. You can't hand it over to anyone including me. Core is the ultimate supporter of your strength and life.”

They continued walking around the Dungeon until they finally met a small Beast with a fox shape.

The beast had a quick movement and started attacking, but Lifana swiftly came forward and bit his neck. His movements grew faster and smarter as he met the monsters.

“I feel something in his head, papa!”

Natural genius is very easy to learn something. Arcturus just smiled and watched Lifana in action.

“Use your strength to retrieve his Core.”

Lifana observed the fox for some time before her eyes let out light and she opened her mouth.

A bluish smoke shot out from his mouth, enveloping the fox's body for some time before disappearing.

“I did it, papa! It turns out this is easier than swallowing it!”

Arcturus did not notice any difference from the body of the fox that had been killed. To prove it Arcturus tried to dissect it and look for the fox's Core.

“... you are great. The core really succeeds you absorb completely!”

That's an amazing achievement. Not only Core, even the fox had no blood at all when Arcturus dissected it.

The Beast Blood had Mana content. It's amazing that Lifana is able to absorb it so much that it's left unnoticed.

Perhaps the requirement for him to be able to do that was that his opponent had already been killed first.

“It's like a game. Let's make your level rise rapidly, Lifana!”

“Yes, papa!”

Elsewhere, the main protagonist Arcturus deployed towards the Tengu Empire was facing difficulties.

The first difficulty was about Blodwyn making him a puppet to use some embarrassing clothing. He even had to find himself learning things he might not need to know.

Then the other difficulty was the situation before him.

“It seems to be true what Young Master Arcturus said. It is not easy to enter the Ellior Forest.”

Ellior Forest consists of dozens of meters tall trees that seem to barricade the forest. Inside was a thin white mist and something like a magic barrier.

Blodwyn muttered and smiled wryly as he saw the many moving tree branches preventing them from entering the forest.

“Go while I speak carefully to you.”

A hoarse and old-impressed voice said from within the forest.

Alda narrowed his eyes and saw something moving out from within the forest. It was a gigantic tree monster that looked terrifying.

‘She is strong, very strong.’

There was no doubt that the monster was not easy to deal with. Even Alda sensed that the monster had a strange power that he did not know about.

“It ... The forest guard, Elderwood! She's a fairy-!”

Blodwyn was astonished by the existence of such a huge elf. Elderwood is an existence that usually appears in fairy tales.

“Wahai Guardian, please allow us to enter the forest. We want to meet the Fairy Queen and talk about something important!”

Blodwyn tried to negotiate, he remembered Arcturus' words not to try to break through. But even though they did not, the forest began to attack them every time they visited.

“A stubborn man. My answer remains the same, I won't let anyone in. Go and never approach the forest!”

Elderwood stomped his feet. Soon the roots of the trees began to move threateningly.

Seeing that Alda pulled out his sword and prepared to attack. Although Arcturus forbade him, Alda did not think it would be wrong for him to fight to protect himself.

“Why are you so harshly forbidding us from entering the forest?” Blodwyn seemed to give up negotiating. Hence, he needed the reason behind Elderwood banning him.

“We don't like humans destroying forests. Even if Her Majesty let you go for mutualism, I still don't like you. Many of my brothers you killed to build houses and various other things.”

Humans are a race that corrupts the world for their convenience. Even though Blodwyn understood that, but the Fairy Queen should be wiser than this.

“In addition, the woman is dangerous. I won't let you in and make a mess!” Elderwood pointed right at Alda.

Blodwyn looked at Alda confusedly and curiously. He knew Alda might be very strong, but even he wouldn't do anything reckless.

“He only protects himself because you attack! We won't ruin anything so please.”

Elderwood simply spat and mocked Blodwyn's statement.

“What is not destructive when he has a power that is able to intimidate life? This forest has many little fairies. His whereabouts will be a nightmare!”

Blodwyn glanced at Alda and his gaze met her. Blodwyn seemed to be asking for confirmation of Elderwood's words.

“Maybe he's talking about my left eye.” Alda spoke calmly as he looked at Elderwood and Blodwyn alternately.

“What's with your left eye? Isn't that hurt and can't see anymore or something?”

Blodwyn was sure about it so never questioned it. But the truth seems to have strayed from his imagination.

“See, right? Although it's just a relic from Altera the dragon bastard. But there must be some terrible power.

“What? Dragon?!” Blodwyn was surprised to hear it and saw Alda.

Hearing Elderwood's words, Alda was stunned and started to step forward.

“... You know my father, right?”

Alda continued to step forward and seemed intent on entering the forest even if he had to forcefully break through.

“I've warned you, don't go any further or I'll subdue you.

Hearing that Alda only smiled and the first time since so long he revealed his left eye to the world. Golden eyes that looked like reptiles and were quite terrifying.

Alda then took a swing to fight.

“Do you have it?”

Elderwood was stunned when he saw eyes that were shining in golden color. As if he had seen a mirage, the presence of a monstrous dragon enveloped this woman.

“Do you have the power to subdue me?”
