Arcturus sipped tea quietly while watching the sun set. He had a good mood when he saw things on his desk.

“Pieces Golden Key. I've got one of three parts.”

Golden Key, in the novel The Rise of Hero In Chaostic World, is the key to unlocking the ancient vaults of wealthy nobles in the past.

“In the previous life this key was successfully owned by Black Parade. Unfortunately I do not have a long life to know the whereabouts of the safe.”

Neither the novel nor his previous life explains the existence of the safe. Although in his previous life the existence of the safe was almost revealed but unfortunately Arcturus needed to meet a fate called death.

“I already know the whereabouts of the other two parts. Well, no need to rush.”

At night, Shin invited her to dinner. The conversation was only with their little sister Spica. After all, Shin knew that Arcturus' relationship with Lyura and Evelyn was not good.

But on that quiet night suddenly a soldier broke in by breaking down the door. He seemed to be in a hurry running to this place.

“Do you not know whose name is manners?” asked Shin who furrowed his brows.

“Sorry but this lord is an emergency!”

Shin and Arcturus frowned ever deeper.

“What happened?” ask Shin.

The soldier looked pale and breathless, “Monster ... A group of monsters attacked the city!”

Arcturus widens his eyes, “What?”

The soldier did not heed and continued his report.

“Monster emerged from the forest and goblins suddenly appeared in the middle of the city!”

“How is it possible?!” Shin got up from his chair and left immediately. “Arc, you stay here. I'll check the situation!”

Arcturus stayed in his place. He did not understand the current situation. He knew sooner or later the East Port would suffer an attack but it shouldn't be this fast.

“What is this? Why are they attacking now?”

Goblins and monsters should not attack the East Port. Is it possible that because Arcturus took the key, the Goblin King was wrathful and acted?

“I have to do something.”

Arcturus recalled a theory on earth called the Butterfly effect. Small changes that have occurred in the past can change the situation in the future.

Perhaps the actions of Arcturus who took the key caused this attack.

“Young Master ..”

Mary walked behind Arcturus as she walked out.

“We'll help, Mary. Prepare to fight.”

Mary seemed to want to say something but held it in and immediately smiled small, “... Understood Young Master.”

He stared at the small back of Arcturus and quietly rejoiced in his heart.

‘Young Master is really an adult. If this was her former self then she would definitely escape.’

On the other hand Arcturus had endless worries. More than anyone, he knew very well how dangerous this attack was.

Naturally with Shin's ability to strategize he would be able to overcome it, but no one knew other than Arcturus the existence of more dangerous monsters.

‘I must prevent Goblin King from waking the monster.’

If that happens then a huge loss of East Port and loss of life will be inevitable.

“This is really messed up.”

Arcturus arrived at the highest place of the castle and witnessed the cityscape full of screaming and human chaos in this hellish screech.

Fire burns cities, monsters eat people. Men call women, women call men and people run for their lives.

Goblins appeared in the middle of the city, and monsters from the forest attacked the city walls.

“What should I do, Young Master?” ask Mary.

Arcturus was silent for a moment. Even though it is past its glory, Mary remains strong. Other than the Goblin King there might not be enough monsters in this city to harm him.

“We can't carelessly act. Meet brother Shin, tell me I sent you as reinforcements.”

He was unwilling to make Mary take unnecessary actions that would damage Shin's strategy indirectly.

“How about you, Young Master?” Mary's worried. “I can't leave your side.”

“Do not worry. I love myself and hate pain. Besides I know my limits, it is impossible for me to take illogical actions.”

Arcturus did not plan to sacrifice himself or anything because now was not the time to pretend to be a hero.

Let someone else take that role for him.

Mary could not believe it until Arcturus smiled boldly.

“I just want to make sure something.”

Arcturus to the forest. With his Ancient Determination, it was easy through monsters and the city's defensive walls. Of course he did it secretly so there were no witnesses.

Certainly one would wonder about why Arcturus could fly even though he had no special talent when it came to magic.

“Why are there so many of them? Is it possible that Goblin King is able to herd them to attack?”

Goblin King only has the ability to rule goblins and is not possible for other monsters.

“Most of those who attacked the city fortress were Orcs, monsters that resembled pigs. They couldn't possibly bow their heads to Goblin King.”

Orcs are famous for their lust, greed and insanity that do not bow before powerful beings despite it being Wyverns. It was impossible for them to be subdued by the Goblin King.

‘Orc is not stupid completely. There must be a trigger that makes them attack.’

Arcturus believes there are only two possibilities, namely, their nest is disturbed by someone or something that makes them afraid.

Of course the possibility of them being controlled by people is not zero, but in the novels and previous lives, such people would not exist in the early half of this world.

“Can the monster wake up? Shit, I can't stop them now!”

Although Arcturus hated to admit it, he realized that he was still very weak. He had not been able to face the monster.

“No I'll let!”

Arcturus drew his sword and darted swiftly towards the Goblin King. His sword was directed towards the head, but the Goblin King was not prone to danger.

He realized Arcturus and used his wooden mace full of nails to withstand the attack.

Arcturus quickly took out the blast stone and threw it at the Goblin King to keep his distance.

The Goblin King had some parts of his skin blistering.

“Groar!”

The Goblin King roared full of anger and jumped up. Although his body was fat and large, his rapid movements were unreasonable. In one jump he was already taller than Arcturus.

Arcturus quickly kicked up the air and gave off a gust of wind strong enough to blow away the Goblin King.

“Sial, I should have brought someone else with me.”

He did not have enough strength to deal with the Goblin King. It was not impossible for Arcturus to defeat him, it was just that it would be difficult for him alone.

‘First of all I need to keep it away from this stone.’

That huge rock was the key to waking the sleeping strong monster.

Although Arcturus had already planned to kill the monster, but now was not the time. He had not been able to do so now before obtaining another Ancient Determination.

The Goblin King lunged crazily as Arcturus continued to leap back and keep his distance with it.

Arcturus tried to deal wounds with swords, knives and Redstones but nothing could actually give fatal wounds.

Ancient Determination, Envy of Assassin was a power that made his body so light that it was able to move quickly. That power also helped him to blow himself away so that Arcturus could run in the air.

Not only that, Arcturus can eliminate his presence and some other things that are very special in the field of Assassin work.

However for a real fight like this right now, the Envy of Assassins did not help much other than to escape.

“Good she keeps chasing me—”

Not yet had Arcturus feel relieved, the Goblin King had stopped moving and sculpting.

Arcturus also stopped moving and quite breathless, he observed the monster before him acting strangely.

“What really happened ..”

It was too late to realize that it was unlike Goblin King in general. Arcturus had seen the Goblin King. Big and fat monster with green color.

But this one is different, the look of his eyes is sharp and the whole eye is dark red.

Arcturus' heart rate became strong after realizing the peculiarity.

“Cannot be!”

The Goblin King began to run but not towards Arcturus, but the opposite direction where the boulder was located.

Arcturus knew what was really going on now. The Goblin King was affected by something strange, something that Arcturus had not thought of.

“You bastard!”

The culprit is probably the same person as that damn group. The group that was in his previous life Arcturus desperately and painstakingly struggled just to eliminate him.

“Black Parade!”

Bastard Black Parade, a crazy organization that wreaks a lot of chaos.

The Goblin King obviously paid no heed and rushed to smash the boulder with his mace. At the first blow the stone just slightly shakes and cracks.

The second blow of the crack got bigger and spread throughout the rock.

“Shsttt!”

Arcturus could hear a terrifying hiss as the stone cracked along with the Goblin King roaring and delivering the final blow.

“Groar!”

The cudgel hit the rock and split it in half. Crushed. The rock was destroyed by it.

Arcturus silently looked up at the sky and bit his lips. The ground started to tremble and get stronger every second until the pebble stone jumped small.

“Ssssttt!”

The hissing sound grew stronger until finally the boulder flew up due to the impact from its base. A huge black shadow towered into the sky as if leaping to enjoy its freedom.

Arcturus was bluffing his teeth firmly as his entire body trembled violently.

The nightmare has arrived.

“Serpent ..”

The monster was fifteen meters long and as big as a house. Snake with jet black scales with golden reptilian eyes. There were four small golden balls on his head and one large golden ball in the center of his head, as if it were his crown.

Memories from his previous life reappear. The time when the monster appeared before him and ate Shin and hundreds of lives.

Thanks to that monster as well the organization he had raised painstakingly went through a crisis until he finally lost the strength to protect the Religian territory and this continent.

In the end the monster also had a huge contribution to killing one of the four main characters.

The snake immediately preyed on the Goblin King who just silently stared while looking at him. Soon the snake chewed, stuck out its tongue and moved slowly closer to Arcturus.

“The jerk who killed Brother Shin and Mad Dog—”

The calamity that had occurred in his previous life was in front of him. Did the nightmare happen a second time?

Arcturus and the snake stared at each other with a very close distance.
