Arcturus could only see eternal darkness. He still felt himself breathing, hearing his heartbeat, believing his body was floating in void space. And, hearing a voice in the midst of a very dark void.
•I killed many lives with my hands out of envy. I was a great no-man's Assassin back then.
•a time when a weak loser like you can't live like a human.
Assassin, a dirty profession that is willing to kill humans just for money. Not only in the Era of Gods, even in this era the profession was still a lot of enthusiasts.
Some become Assassins because they are forced, not a few who take the profession because of circumstances, and not infrequently people become murderers because they like murder.
But the owner of this Ancient Determination was different from the others. This madman kills only out of envy. Even the main character cursed the owner upon hearing his story.
•My life was quiet with no sound approaching because I was deaf.
The owner of the Ancient Determination was deaf during his lifetime. Arcturus knew very well this sad story of having read a novel when the main character passed down his determination.
The Envy of Assassins, a pathetic man who is deaf and always accompanied by loneliness.
•I'm blessed misfortune can't be heard and can't be felt by anyone.
•you may not understand. Can't understand.
Of course Arcturus did not understand his sentence. But he understands what it means. After all, he is an NPC who has read, seen and felt for himself the novel The Rise of Hero In Chaostic World.
•understand everything you don't understand through testing.
•found answers.
The darkness began to move and was replaced by a bright light. The scenery began to change and Arcturus was currently standing in front of a large temple.
The night sky with rain adds gloom and sweeps away sadness. Trees and plants rejoice over the living water, but thunderstorms are quite alarming.
“Finally started, Heir Exam.”
Ancient Determination, in order to obtain it there was a test that needed to be passed. Because Arcturus had read the novel and heard the story of this test from the main character, for him it was easy to get it.
Arcturus entered the temple. There were only pillars and rooms that were completely filled with emptiness. Yet he could hear someone's moans, and a few small footsteps.
At the end of the temple there is a large round room with a stone altar. At the altar Arcturus could see the whereabouts of a dying man, in ragged black robes and clothes.
He sat leaning back with his long jet-black sword. At his feet were three rabbits, two large ones and one small rabbit. The man had a dead look. Seeing such a gaze made Arcturus remember himself before coming to this world.
It was the gaze of a human who was desperate, plentiful in sorrow and yearning for death.
‘I understand what he feels just from looking into his eyes.’
This exam is easy to pass for this reason. Be it the Assassin, the main character or Arcturus has one thing in common.
Arcturus lowered his eyelids and immediately had the same gaze as the man.
Both of Arcturus' legs reached the man's vision and made him look up. He found a nice-looking man with black hair and rosy eyes who had no desire of life to see tomorrow.
“Ahh..”.
The man let out a small groan before closing his mouth again and looking at his rabbit. As the man closed his eyes, the little rabbit nearby started twitching.
“Who are you? That gaze I understood deeply,” the little bunny started talking. “I'm deaf and not sure I can speak properly. Need for me to borrow the senses of this little rabbit listener.”
On earth he had nothing, rather everything he had was snatched away. Arrived when he became Arcturus and had friends, lovers and family. But in the end it was taken again thanks to his mistakes.
“I don't want to lose more. Why me and not someone else? At least I want ... others also lose.”
Regressed this he wouldn't make the same mistake. No more tears should come out of loss or failure.
“If I were stronger. Why was I born without strength?”
This Arcturus was born in a family of Religious nobility but he was not blessed with any special abilities. Naturally he had the Mana to use magic yet no talent stood out.
“Really, the bastards who gained strength from birth are very unfair.”
That's his honest feeling. Arcturus was envious of people who gained great power instantly. He desperately needed such strength to change his terrifying destiny in the future.
“You are honest with envy to the strong. Yes, liver disease is a very annoying one.”
This Assassin had a deeper and greater envy when compared to anyone. He envies those who are born with everything he does not have.
Starting from hearing, property and family. This Assassin took everything from others. He chose to be a killer because of his envy of wanting others not to have what he had.
“Crince of heart, yes?” arcturus. “That's a catastrophe for those of us who have nothing.”
The killer began to smile happily, the world he was in began to fade and there was only white space.
Arcturus and the killer were still leaning on his sword. But this time the dead eye looked directly at Arcturus.
“Remember this, O people who have lived three lives. Envy is not the enemy. You are the one controlling your feelings, the owner will not be controlled.”
“What—” Arcturus is shocked because the killer knows that Arcturus has lived his third life. “How do you—”
But the killer didn't care about it and ignored it. For the first time a sincere smile was etched beautifully into her lonely lips.
“I'm sure you can do it, son of nature. Finish what your mom can't finish.”
The killer's figure began to fade. Arcturus subconsciously extended a hand towards him. He intended to convey the word, but the world had disappeared and brought him back.
Aware Arcturus found himself lying on the altar earlier.
“His test has ended.”
That was certain because if Arcturus failed the Ancient Determination examination, then he would die. For that reason, not many people actually have the courage to take the test.
“So this is the killer's strength.”
Arcturus could feel something foreign flowing all over his body. Ancient Determination, The Envy of Assassins belonged to him.
“However did he know I passed three lives?”
It is impossible for a long-dead person to seem to know a secret that Arcturus did not share with anyone. There is no record of any novel or previous life that Ancient Determination could know all about him.
“He also mentioned the son of nature? Fuck I don't know what it is, it's a headache.”
The cit! The cit! The cit!
Arcturus could see two rabbits guiding him here. He had a deep look at the two tiny creatures.
