The Im Not Main Character

The Im Not Main Character
Antimatter

Artifacts are special objects that have tremendous power. Artifacts are objects created by Demi-God in the Era of Gods.

For some reason Artifacts became rare and very difficult to find even though in his story it was found in the Era of Gods.

There are many questions about the Era of Gods, including the group that created the Artifacts. Even with information from his novel and his first life, Arcturus has yet to find the answer.

‘Thanks to the novel and the first life I learned of the existence of several powers including Artifacts. For this time there will be none that I will let go of.’

In his first life Arcturus was only fixated on building his own organization and drawing the main character to his side. He thought it was fine to let that power belong to someone else like in the novel. But in this second round he will not make that mistake.

It took struggle and sacrifice for him to obtain the Tears of God. Arcturus must not waste this regression. If he failed again then what good is this regression?

He would not be able to repeat because not necessarily the Tears of God was still there now. Right now, right in front of him was an Artifact that caused this eastern continent to experience war and the territory of Religion to be destroyed.

“Do you know about this Artifact, Mary?”

Arcturus looked at him with a bright face. This was a contested artifact in his first life. And, he managed to get it long before those bastards came.

“I have never heard of Artifacts shaped like this.”

The artifact was a blue ball that swirled and bathed in light. Mary could feel the danger of that thing but it was strange that there was no Mana she could sense.

Normally an Artifact would be filled with monstrous Mana within it. Yet this was completely non-existent, if not for the terrible tremors Mary felt, she would have assumed it was an ordinary stone.

“That's because this Artifact is special and different from the others.”

An artifact is an object that contains extraordinary power. Usually it will be shaped as a talisman, sword or form like a potion.

“This object does not contain the Mana that we as humans use.”

Mana is the energy released by nature, heaven and earth. Everything that does not contain Mana can be interpreted as something mysterious or has no connection with the world.

“This is not something that should exist in this world. Not part of this world at all.”

Arcturus nodded his head as if agreeing that the Artifacts in front of him were not from this world.

“I'm not sure of the name but we can call it, Antimatteri.”

On earth Antimatter is a particle capable of producing great energy. Arcturus mentions this object so because it is a glowing blue ball.

“Young Master.”

Arcturus frowned. He could not believe what Mary was doing.

“... Are you planning on taking this alone? I didn't expect you to be this greedy, Mary.”

Did something change when he regressed? No, Arcturus hasn't done anything big. It is impossible that things are different like this.

Mary is not a materialistic person, that's why she brought her here. Arcturus believed that Mary would not do the same things she does today: point a knife at Arcturus' neck.

“True and also wrong. I'm not interested in things like this, but sometimes there are times I have to be materialistic.”

“What do you want?”

“Certitude.”

“... Huh?”

Arcturus did not understand why Mary asked for certainty. What certainty for anyway? It is impossible for this woman to ask for certainty whether Arcturus wants to marry her or not, right? Even monkeys are not interested in the old.

“I want to be sure whether you are really Arcturus or not. It's not like Arcturus I know.”

So that's the problem. Arcturus understood it immediately. Of course it was because Arcturus behaved like his previous life. He forgot that this was a new life, Mary would certainly be surprised by Arcturus' current actions.

“I've been with her from cleaning diapers to preventing the woman she's sleeping with from getting pregnant. You won't be able to fool me!”

Mary brought the knife closer to Arcturus' neck and was only a few millimeters away.

“Tell me honestly, where is Young Master?!”

The Young Master he knew would wander around in search of girls and alcohol. Be bad and have a loud and impolite tone of speech.

But this morning it all disappeared as if his attitude had been just a delusion. He does not seek alcohol, women or abusive speech. It was different from the Young Master he knew.

“I don't know.”

Arcturus doesn't know how to say it. On one side he is Arcturus but on the other side he is not.

His body was Arcturus, but the soul inhabiting his body was different. What is the right answer to say it?

“You could say I got enlightened and thought that I should behave more mature.”

The original Arcturus was a teenager with a childlike attitude. In his novel he was just a pitiful NPC and became the lackey of the main character.

But as he took over his body, Arcturus changed the eloquence written in the book, and this time it was a second round for him.

“I'm still me, Mary. Although I am not myself.”

The ambiguous answer. On one side he remains Arcturus but also not.

But Mary was smart, at least she understood her point.

“You are still Young Master Arcturus, but you are also not the Young Master I know. Can I conclude that you cannot explain the reason, Young Master?”

“Yes. Not for now.”

Now it can't. Arcturus could only explain it when he had regained all he had in his previous life.

Partners, money, connections, support and power. Arcturus needs to achieve at least two of those four things. As a noble he certainly had money but it was not enough for big things in the future.

Mary put away her knife and stepped back before giving a sincere salute.

“Sorry for this sassness, Young Master. I am ready to accept any punishment for this impoliteness.”

Arcturus turned and rubbed his neck. A second before he thought it would detach from his body and this regression became futile.

“No problem. It is a testament to how much you have devoted to me.”

Mary and Arcturus both smiled as masters and servants before taking the Antimatter.

“Can I ask you a few things?” Mary asked as she looked at Arcturus who was intending to retrieve the Artifacts.

Arcturus turned his head and raised an eyebrow,“What?”

“How do you know about the existence of Artifacts?”

Arcturus slightly thought and touched his chin with his finger before smiling mysteriously.

“I just saw it.”

Mary was confused and clueless yet she did not try to pursue the topic. Somehow Mary felt there would only be something confusing if she dug deeper.

After all Mary did not really care about that as long as the Young Master in front of her was still the same person.

Arcturus certainly did not know what Mary was thinking. He was only drunk with the thought that he would make Arcturus a very important NPC as well as the main character.
