The Devil Charming's

The Devil Charming's
The Part 13

Edward was struggling in front of his laptop looking for information about golden rose through data he got from a computer at the headquarters of one of the golden rose men at that time. It was not easy to open it even though Edward could easily move it on his laptop. Of course, high-class mafia like golden rose would not use low-grade security on any data they had. It takes full concentration for Edward to be able to unlock the complicated code that is there.

While Lizbeth who is also struggling with the laptop in front of him, now frowned when he saw something on his laptop screen. Lizbeth glances at Edward who is still serious and looks reluctant to be disturbed to make Lizbeth undo his intention to ask.

Although Lizbeth is not a reliable hacker like Edward, but the girl is quite clever if only looking for a special information. Given all this time he struggled in a world that demanded to be clever and cunning. Where the motto is to kill or be killed. On the other hand, Lizbeth was lucky because before his father died, Lizbeth was always trained like the son of a military man. Playing pistol, martial arts, playing knives are also provided with information knowledge that is quite qualified. But unfortunately, the father figure who has always been a shelter for the girl has left him due to the murder committed by the Ukrainian mafia because Boris is an FBI agent. Although only a foster father to Lizbeth, Boris is so meaningful because it is the man who gives life to Lizbeth, giving everything like a father who gives anything to his biological children.

“Did you find anything?”

Lizbeth looked at Edward. “Ya, just a symbol.”

“What symbol?” Now Edward stopped his activity and looked straight at Lizbeth next to him.

“Special symbol that every descendant of golden rose.” Edward nodded and closed his laptop. “I already know that. Looks like this will be more difficult,” Edward murmured which of course can still be heard clearly by Lizbeth “It seems not that difficult. Lookie! I found a photo of a girl who has a rose tattoo behind her ear.”

Quickly, Edward moved closer and observed the laptop screen in front of Lizbeth closely.

“If seen from the characteristics of physical characteristics, this girl is of Russian descent like the original offspring of golden rose,” continued Lizbeth while opening some information about the green-eyed girl.

For a moment Edward watched Lizbeth more precisely look at the girl with a difficult look at her, making Lizbeth a little careless as the blue eyes continued to observe her.

“What's up?”

“You are of Russian descent aren't you?”

Lizbeth glared furiously then clicked her tongue. “So you're accusing me of being a descendant of that jerk mafia just because I'm Russian?” Lizbeth sighed harshly “even I myself do not know where I came from,” shrewd Lizbeth.

“So you're not Boris Zakharov's real son?” Edward asked full of probes with blue eyes that still shone sharp.

Lizbeth. “Dad found me in front of his house, took care of me and made me part of his life, and the only family I had and cruel, God took Dad and let me go back alone.”

For a moment Edward felt tight to hear Lizbeth's words. The girl has a fate that is not much different from her. Discarded by the biological family and found by angel-hearted humans who are willing to take care of them. But the difference, until now even Edward can still feel the presence of family and their affection. As for Lizbeth, the girl had to go back to feeling a sense of solitude, loneliness and loss of affection.

“How about Boris' wife?”

Lizbeth frowned at Edward's question. “Dad never married.”

Edward quickly reopened his laptop and moved his finger agilely over the keyboard, making Lizbeth even more astonished.

“What are you doing?”

“Boris was married, Lizbeth. From the information that I know, the FBI agent reliable was once married with a Ukrainian woman who—”

“Wait! Ukrainian Woman??” Cut Lizbeth.

“Look!” Edward shows some data containing complete information about the figure of Boris Zakharov. There is also a wedding photo that Lizbeth is very sure that his bridegroom is the figure of his adoptive father.

Lizbeth seems clueless about all this, because since he was a child, Boris always said that Lizbeth was the only one he had and when Lizbeth asked him why Boris was not married, the man always replied that Boris would never marry.

Lizbeth clenched his hands together and cursed softly when a conclusion could be reached.

“Did the woman come from a mafia family?”

“Yes. It seems to be the reason they killed Boris. A descendant of the mafia will never be allowed to establish a relationship with an FBI agent because.well, it could threaten the safety of the mafia group itself.”.

This cruel reality made Lizbeth's heart ache. Yes, Boris was not a bad man, nor should he have received a death sentence like this just out of love. Love to someone Lizbeth sure loves Boris too. Life is sometimes outrageous.

Lizbeth tried to stay calm, and refocused on the information he got about the golden rose breed earlier. But Edward quickly closes Lizbeth's laptop and keeps it away.

“We continue tomorrow only. Rest!”

Lizbeth nodded. “I'll go to the room first.”

Edward could only stare at the back of Lizbeth who was walking up the stairs. Edward understood what Lizbeth was feeling. However, when we know the reality of the death of someone we already consider as a parent is the most painful thing in the world. Death is caused by revenge. A stupid grudge done only for love.

Edward looked at the wall clock that had shown at twelve o'clock in the evening, the man tidied up his work before leaving and walked to his room on the second floor opposite the room occupied by Lizbeth. Edward stopped his steps and undoed his intention to open his bedroom door knob as his heart forced him to turn around and eventually Edward followed his heart. He turned the knob of Lizbeth's room door and found the girl who used to look strong with all her wild behavior was now curled up under the blanket with shaky shoulders. Edward knew that Lizbeth was crying. Slowly his footsteps led Edward to approach Lizbeth.

Edward sat on the edge of the bed still with his residence as well as blue eyes that observed Lizbeth. Lizbeth himself who realized Edward's arrival only let it go when the man sat nearby.

“Requires a backrest?”

Lizbeth changed her position to sit down and immediately scattered in Edward's arms. As strong as she is still a woman who wants a backrest when her heart is broken. Edward himself welcomed Lizbeth's embrace kindly. His hand moved gently stroking the girl's head.

“You're not alone, Lizbeth.”

“Can I trust you like I trust dad?” Edward nodded faintly. “Sure.”

Edward parsed his embrace and looked at Lizbeth's green eyes inside. “Never go if you already trust me no matter what.”

Lizbeth frowned feeling that there was something behind Edward's sentence. “Is there something you're hiding?” Edward smiled and brought Lizbeth back to lie down, while the man also lay down next to him.

“Many, mafia have many secrets.” “Not that I mean!” Pissed Lizbeth.

“Then?” Edward raised his eyebrows by pretending to be stupid by not understanding what Lizbeth meant. Of course the girl's intention was the intention of her words earlier.

“You're hiding big things from me, Ed.”

Edward grinned and tilted his body, propping his head with his left hand and looking at Lizbeth who was now also looking at him. “Yes, you're right. There's a big thing that I'm hiding from you even from everyone. And I'm sure you'll regret knowing it later even though you'll eventually know it too.”

Lizbeth rolled her eyes lazily. “I don't understand. Sometimes you are irritable and if you have spoken at length your sentence is difficult to understand. The point is, just explain what you mean by saying that? What if that fact makes me have to leave you?”

“You won't be able to get away from me,” Edward said. “As far as you are! And...for What are you sleeping here?”

Edward immediately put on his flat expression hearing Lizbeth's last sentence. Damn it! What a brazen question Lizbeth. Didn't that girl need her? Damnit damnit! Now Edward felt in play ah— humiliated more precisely. Edward cleared his throat slowly. “This includes my room if you forget. Even all the places in this apartment are mine, so I am free to be anywhere.”

“Alright, I will move to Dmitry mansion alone who gladly gave me a private room.”

Edward pulls Lizbeth's rough body when the girl is about to move on. The man locked Lizbeth in his arms, making Lizbeth only able to curse her heart.

“How dare you go then don't blame me if one of my bullets will be lodged at your feet!” Threaten Edward

“You don't have the right to forbid me to go, Ed,” denies Lizbeth.

“Really? Then I will make myself entitled to you.” Edward flipped his body until now Lizbeth was under it.

Lizbeth gulped his saliva nervously feeling Edward's warm breath on his face due to the distance too close. “A-what do you mean?” “Become my wife.”
