My eyes blinked hoping that this event was just a fantasy or my dream. However, my hopes were thinning because the moment I pinched my cheek hurt. It means that those two terrifying creatures are real in front of me. I read the prayer that came to my mind. Instead of missing, the horrible woman who grabbed my foot pulled my foot one more time until it made me stray and fall at the bottom of the stairs. My temples are bleeding, that's what I remember before it gets dark again.
"Han! Wake up! He said you want to work!" The sound of screaming started to wake me up. I looked around me, I was in my room again. How could it be, was not last night I fell down under the stairs due to the actions of two invisible creatures. I fumbled my temples, not the slightest wound. Does that mean I was just a nightmare last night.
"Dam!" The shouting from outside the room made me realize that I had to hurry to prepare.
"L-yes, hold!" I opened my room door. Outside I found Wulan and Intan standing up. I don't know why my two new friends just hugged me.
"Alhamdulillah, you're fine. How was something bothering you last night?" whispered Wulan. I tried to smile in front of them. I wanted to tell you about my horrible experience last night but for what reason, it was all just a dream.
"I'm fine. Oh, yeah, you guys want to go to work?" ask me to divert the conversation in another direction because until now I still feel that last night was not just a dream.
"Yet. It's still half six. We'll buy breakfast in front of there. You want to come with me?" I approved their words, and from last night no food entered my stomach because of the maggot incident. Interspersed with laughter I and my two friends walked to the front of the alley to buy breakfast. It turns out that the location is not far from the factory where I work later. Along the way lined street street vendors hawking a wide variety of food. There is liwet rice, gudeg, chicken porridge, there is even drunk rambak typical Solo food that has a sweet, savory, salty, and spicy taste in one serving. Rambak drunk consists of pieces of ketupat and sprinkled sesame sambal that is appetizing.
"Eat what, Han?" I just shrugged my shoulders at the confusion of the large selection of food and everything seemed tempting.
"I want to eat chicken soup. You guys, if you're confused, just look around." Intan said as he walked towards the soto seller which was quite crowded.
"I am also soto. What do you want to eat, Han?" I had better just liken my breakfast this time because all the food sold along this road apparently managed to make me swallow. In addition, I do not want to bother choosing food because I have to hurry and immediately leave for work.
After enjoying a bowl of soto and a glass of warm tea. Intan and I also Wulan walked back to the room to prepare for work. "Han, really nothing happened last night? You see, their first night in room thirteen was gripping." Intan seems curious. I shook my head because last night was just a dream. I don't want to be overreacted to dreams. Wherever we are, nightmares can come.
"Nothing," I insisted.
"Thank God then. Yeah let's get ready to work for a living." Wulan hugged my shoulder and Intan with great difficulty because among us, she was the shortest.
"The spirit of a spare fighter!" Intan's cry made the laughter crackle. I can forget a little bit about my fear because of the cheer this morning.
There was fear when I entered my room again. Unlike yesterday I was very happy to enter this room. I can only hope that nothing grips me anymore.
Thankfully, nothing happened until I was ready. It's just that, while taking a shower earlier, there was a heat in there. Maybe because this room was empty so it took time for the wind to cool it.
In spirit I walked to the factory where I would scavenge the windfall. Upon arrival at the large enough textile and garment factory, I met the security guard to ask the HRD room.
"New officer, huh?" I nodded in response to the question of the thinly mustached security guard. "The HRD room is in this front building, Ma'am. Through the door, directly up to the second floor, well the right door was the room Mr. Rudi HRD. The mama didn't have a bike?"
"No need, sir. I live in the back alley of this factory."
"If my advice is better take the bike, at least the bike onthel, Ma'am. You see from the main gate to the operational building quite far." I just nod.
This area is divided into several places. There is a special building spinning yarn into fabric, there is also a building that is used to process fabric into clothing. This industrial area is not only managed by one company. There are approximately three companies in one area, you can imagine how vast this place is.
I heard the HRD directives as best I could. After signing the contract, he asked me to the other building to start my work as Quality Control.
"Later you meet the same thing as Ms. Ning, to explain your work anything." I nodded my head after receiving instructions from the glasses man. With passion I went down the road to move the building that was quite draining of sweat.
In the building I was heading to, I immediately met the person who would explain what my work was. "Sir Hanna, later if anyone does not understand you do not hesitate to ask me. Oh yes, the whole SOP should be understood completely. Because this company is very strict about the quality of goods, so I do not want anyone to escape your work. Oh yes one more, every mistake will have consequences even though mistakes that are considered trivial will not be tolerated here."
I just nodded. It felt very different, working at a company of this size was very different when I worked at a home convection in Ungaran. Although I am tired, today I am quite able to finish my job well.
"Give up your performance again, Han. You're good today." Ms. Ning smiled as she patted my shoulder for a moment before heading home.
I walked to Indekos with some friends. Lucky because on the first day I had found a friend who lived not far from my place of residence. On average they live in several indexes around the factory. Indeed, it has long been the village around to convert their homes into indekos.
Interesting and jokingly interspersed conversations left me unaware that it was time to part with my new friends. "Almost no?"
"Mother Hanna lives in this index?" asked a surprised girl as I entered the gate.
"Yes. What's the matter?"
"Mbak is not afraid? Because according to the story these indekos people are haunted. It could be seen from its seemingly unkempt walls. People say around here, this place is often repainted by the owner but the paint color only lasts a month after it slowly returns in a dull state like this." My forehead shriveled when I heard the story from Indah. It's true that this place is as scary as it is but given that last night's events it may be true, this place is not right.
"Well, I hope it's just a rumor. I've only been here a day."
"According to people it's so. Moreover, room number thirteen, said the people were the center of the waiters of this building."
My mouth was agape at the beautiful greeting that looked smooth and no lies were caught from her speech.
"The thirteen rooms? Th-that's my room. You're not kidding, are you?"
"Astagfirullah, Sister Hanna better just move. Because the room ...."
"What's with that room?"
"Konon said there used to be a terrible murder there. There was a woman who was found in terrible condition. His head was slashed and hung above the fan, while his scarred, naked body lay just like that."
Suddenly my head was dizzy hearing the story of Indah.
