Mystery of Room 13

Mystery of Room 13
Part 33: Noodle Porridge

Samar I heard voices calling me. Slowly the darkness began to disappear, the shadows began to be clearly seen. Wulan's panicked face began to catch my sense of sight.

"Hanna!" Wulan's call made me see more and more clearly around me. The green wall peeling off and a small cupboard made me realize where I was.

"Dam!" The call with a soft voice made me stare at the woman wearing the face.

"Lan, what's wrong with me?" I'm trying to bounce back from a case that's been very hard and thin. Wulan helped me sit up. Wulan had not been able to answer my question, the door was knocked and a girl came inside carrying a tray with a glass of warm tea and a cup of toast.

"Sir, this is warm tea for the mother" the girl said, handing the glass to Wulan. I can see clearly there is a fear that has been explained by the way he stole the view. Why I feel so familiar with him.

"Han, this is to drink first. Let you not drown and your strength recovers." Wulan thrust the glass at me. I slowly drank it until the toilet was not left.

"Lan, why am I suddenly in the room, instead of just going to the kitchen to cook noodles?" I looked at the two faces in front of me. The girl who had brought me a cup of tea just kept her head down and squeezed the end of her shirt, and also kept biting her own lips.

"I don't know for sure, Han. Just this, Lina suddenly called, she said in the kitchen there was a man coming with his head on his shoulder."

I scrunched my forehead, trying to remember a forgotten fragment of the story before darkness ruled me. Yeah, I remember now. She was the girl who ran scared when she saw me coming to the kitchen. The ghost of the head came and perched on my shoulder. The voiceless humming was heard gliding from the ghost's terrifying mouth.

"Lan, I remember everything. The ghost came and disturbed me again. I've only been here a few hours."

Wulan hugged me tightly, while her hand rubbed my back. "Quiet yeah. Don't be afraid we'll keep you company, after all you're working on it."

Luckily, I didn't have to spend the night in this terrible index. After talking for a while, Lina said goodbye back to her room. After Lina's death, Wulan and I decided to cook noodles using a rice cooker. To go to the kitchen which is actually only one room away I was still afraid. I don't want to look at that flaky head of skin.

While waiting for this food to ripen, Wulan and I joked and devised a plan to surprise us as a form of love for the growing age of Intan.

"How do we surprise Intan. We can't get three together. I'm in the evening, you're in the morning, and Intan's in the afternoon. We can never meet."

"Quiet, Han. I asked the supervisor for permission to exchange the sift, but only for a day. I'm in the morning tomorrow. I'll pick you up later so Intan thinks I'm coming to work. Well then we give you a surprise with gifts and cakes. Later tonight I'll pretend to forget on his birthday."

"But you're a factory, she won't know if you move the shift?" I was scratching my head. Usually in the factory, the slightest news spreads very quickly."

"Intan won't know, Han. Even though we work in one company, Intan and I are in different buildings and different parts. Intan's job, the place is cleaner than mine. He was in the production section of making drugs in the form of caplets or oral pills

I'm in the extraction section. Every day I have to deal with ginger, turmeric, ginger, and many more empons that will be processed into extracts and then processed again as raw materials for herbal powder. There's also one of the ingredients of the drug."

I just nodded because I honestly did not understand the description of Wulan. However, if asked about the science of sewing, I will go forward.

"Understand what's confused, Han?" asked Wulan after finding me dumb.

"Bung, Lan," I said innocently and like without sin.

"Oh yeah, it's easy. My job is to make herbs in powder form."

"That's the drug factory what's the herbal medicine depot, Lan?"

"Hanna's a beautiful daughter. Open your ears wide, Han. Nowadays many people are interested in something natural and traditional. Something that comes from nature is commonly called herbal ingredients. Herbal ingredients are believed from the past more nutritious and safer to consume. After all, herbal medicine is an ancestral heritage that must be preserved. Therefore, the company I work for is trying to modernize the herbal medicine into an easy powder drink...."

"I understand, your job is to make a powder drink. So complicated!"

"You're in powder form, exactly!"

"Come, Lan. Uh, is that mienya ripe yet?"

"Geez!" Wulan's shout made me suspect there must be something wrong with our cooking. Because I was curious, I saw the contents in that rice cooker. My laughter and Wulan exploded. How not, the noodles we cooked were too ripe, not only medok but the texture was close to being like porridge.

"How do you eat this?" ask Wulan.

"Yes, we'll just eat. Anyway, how else is it impossible for us to waste this food. Let's just say today we eat porridge. Porridge is not just any porridge, this is a new version of porridge. Porridge of rendang-flavored noodles."

With a stifled laugh, Wulan and I tried to enjoy the food that should be good, this became strange. "Han, if you pay attention to our noodle porridge creations are like baby spit. My son if the satiety eat noodles, which come out rich gini."

I almost choked on hearing a disgusting story from Wulan. "Anjaiy! Make me imagine the non-existent." I put my bowl on the floor, drinking as much water as possible instead of eating this weird noodle porridge. Wulan who had just eaten a spoonful of laughter. My eyes were staring at my bowl, it was true Wulan said. The red sausage was half destroyed. The tanned rendang flavor seasoning further accentuates its strange color.

"Down, Lan. It turns out that amused gini rich eating."

"What time is it? How about before you go to the factory we eat in angkringan first?"

"Yes agreed. I'll get ready first." I hurried to get ready to exchange my clothes for my work uniform, while Wulan prepared some strangely shaped food.

"The prospect is to eat rendang noodles with a sloppy sausage topping but in reality kendang to the point." Wulan's murmur heard while I was in the bathroom certainly made this laugh back together. I just cooked this time with a rice cooker and the results were ruined.

Preparations were ready, Wulan was already wearing a jacket and preparing to go down. As his hand was about to open the door, suddenly my heart felt fear. What if the ghost was already preparing to greet me outside the door. "Lan, look out the window. Please make sure there's no ghost in front of us."

"You, Han. Just scare me."

"Just in case, Lan. He just sat on my shoulder and scared me, too. What was his name?"

"Lina." I nodded while Wulan carefully looked at the conditions outside the room. After a long time Wulan stared out of the window, she turned around while pointing her thumb at me. His smile that came out was enough to ease my fear.

"Safe, Han. Outside deserted, safe, there were no sightings of anything. Yuk, we're leaving."

"Wait on! Let me make sure first, Lan. Sometimes the ghosts just show themselves to me. For example, when the incident at the chicken lesehan earlier."

"Yes yes. Fate has a friend indigo mah, likes to be seen ghosts."

"Lena...."

"Yes, you're not indigo but indian."

I slowly opened the window curtain of Wulan's room. My eyes were looking there was nothing outside. Hopefully, just open the door until out of this index there is no appearance. Me and Wulan immediately went out of the room feeling fine. We quickly got down to the parking lot. My eyes were round as I stared at my room.

"Lan, look at my room. Why is that the light? It's like that."

"Maybe want to break the cable or even the switch is played with the ghost waiting room."

"You're talking ghost mulu, later you come home with me, it's brave?"

"Relax, I went home waiting for Intan. I've sent him a message, I'm waiting for him in front of the factory."

Wulan and I decided to leave Indekos, which has been nicknamed as a bloody index since the discovery of an unidentified corpse in room number thirteen. Wulan and I were terrified after suddenly the door opened wide by itself when I had locked it.

My mouth was unceasingly chanting the verse of the chair hoping that no unwanted event would happen and the ghosts stopped showing their existence. "Han, let's go hunting. Scared me."

"Little, Han. This is my bike why you suddenly don't want to walk?"

"Go on strike? Well how is this? That's my room door, too, open it by myself."

"We just push, Han. Who knows if my bike can live."

Rush me and Wulan lead the bike out of the index. It was strange that the motor was already outside the rust-filled gate. Wulan motor that was jammed suddenly can live. Wulan rushed gas.

"Pantes yes, Han. Indekos we are famous haunted because it is really creepy."

"Indeed you never experienced anything mystical, Lan."

"No, I didn't even believe the stories."

"Even with the girl who just suddenly disappeared?" manya curious.

"Handmooing? What's a hum like this?"

I hesitantly hummed what I heard from Mbak Arum and the ghost chanted. A surprised Wulan suddenly stopped the speed of his motorbike. Fortunately, the road is quiet, if the word crowded must have an accident because Wulan stopped in the middle of the road.

"Crazy for you, Lan! Ngerem suddenly. Good thing I didn't chill and smell the asphalt," I scolded the woman wearing the maroon-red jacket.

"Sorry, Han. I'm surprised why you can sing the humming that the ghost of the room's waiter sings?"

"Two times the ghost sang that in front of me, Lan. And even more surprisingly, the hum was often sung by my late mother while I was sleeping."

"Han, then what does that ghost have to do with your mother?" I just shrugged the sign of not understanding this situation. Me and Wulan were both silent, preoccupied with what was in each other's thoughts. Many questions seem to have no answer. In a sudden silence the sound of the horn deafens.

"Woi! You two want to die? Daydreaming in the middle of a rich gini street."

"Sorry, Mom!" I said along with Wulan. Immediately Wulan turned on his motor and immediately passed splitting the road. Wulan and I occasionally threw laughter to eliminate fear and were curious about the ghostly figure in the senses.

"Han, where do we eat? Just an inkling, huh?"

Hearing Wulan invite to angkringan, reminds me of a ghost disguised as Wulan. At that time Wulan stuck out her tongue that was so long that it touched her stomach.

"Crackers? Is there no other place to eat?"

"Four food stalls all closed, except lesehan and angkringan. Why don't you go to Angkringan? Surely remember the tragedy you ate in angkringan which turned out to be a grave huh?" I nodded weakly because the incident was so imprinted on the heart.

"Relax, we're eating in angkringan because I'm also a real Wulan." The woman flaunted her rabbit teeth at me through the rearview mirror.

"Yes already. Besides, I'm afraid later if we go around, I'm late for work."

Wulan stopped the speed of his motorbike in front of a fairly crowded angkringan buyers.

"Eat here, huh, Han? It's safe here, all the buyers and merchants are real people." Wulan laughed as if understanding my fear. Although heavy, I tried to fight this fear of mine. The retreat I came to this time on the side of a crowded road was very different from the terrible angkringan it used to be.

The aroma of spices wafted in the glass whose smoke soared high. Wedang uwuh I choose as my body warmers tonight, while Wulan choose ginger wedang.

"Hi, pretty, can't I sit here?"

The sound made my eyes perfectly round. How did he get here?

"Cock on silence anyway. Can I sit down and join you?"

I was about to answer the question of the man crouching in front of me. However, Wulan had already glared at him first. Not only that, Wulan stood up and ruffled her waist.

"A lot of empty space, just go there! People are not clear." I immediately got up and persuaded the woman to be a little patient, while the man whom Wulan was talking about seemed to smile.

"Patience, Lan. Actually, he's this..."

"Patience? How can I be patient with a man who likes flirtatious!" My eyes were staring around me, it was true that I thought some people were starting to notice us.

"Lan, sit down first. Shame to know, we're now the center of attention of visitors." This time I pushed a little by pulling his hand. Fortunately, Wulan wanted to obey me. He sat down though with his mouth still nagging at length.

"You why are you still here anyway? I told you you were there."

"Lan, diem first. I'm gonna talk." My voice was a little harsh to make Wulan shut her mouth.

"So gini, Lan. This guy has no bad intentions. He's my coworker, his name's Ridwan."

My whisper in Wulan's ear was answered with a pinch on my thigh. "Anjayy, why didn't you tell me I was ashamed of it." I could see Wulan's face turning red with embarrassment.

"How's Hanna gonna say, your guy's pulling a rich train." Ridwan interrupting our conversation made Wulan glare again, while I coded for Ridwan to be quiet first.

Fortunately, the atmosphere was stiff and tense only lasted for a while, then the atmosphere was so melted. The sociable and humorous Ridwan can easily get along with anyone.

"Lan, tell that friend of yours, let him accept my declaration of love immediately. Don't let me wait till the moss."

Wulan looked at me while frowning as if asking for my explanation. I haven't been able to tell you about Ridwan.

"It looks like I missed the train, Wan. You guys have reached Jakarta, while I'm still twirling and straying at the Racing station." Ridwan laughed out loud at Wulan's words.

"If you get lost at the race station how? The station is small, ma'am," Ridwan said with a laugh.

"It's just the same, baby!" Wulan replied in a tone made as sweet as possible.

"Lan, don't call me baby. I don't want the prettiest Quality Control at work pulling out its horns." Ridwan stared fixedly at my face, until I felt my face heat up.

"Duh bucin's. Don't let your love fade rich love mas ex-husband who suddenly turned on me just because I lost taste." I glanced at those beautiful eyes, suddenly looking shiny as if holding back tears.

"God, if Hanna also allows, I will take good care of Hanna with all my heart and with all my heart. I will make her queen of my court. I'm not gonna waste it." Ridwan's words impressed me but also asked if his love was that sincere.

"Well, my ex-boy used to say the same thing to me, but now? To hell with love!"

Ridwan's lips smiled faintly. "I promised my late mother I would never hurt a creature called a woman. Because I know the struggle and pain of an outcast woman."

"What do you mean your mother is a wasted woman, Wan?"

"My mother was dumped by her lover while she was holding me. My father was fascinated with other women. From there I promise I won't be like him. I'm the mother's son, the great woman while I've considered my father dead."

"Oh, why so melow anyway." I glanced at the clock inside my phone. "Jeez, another quarter of an hour's time to get to work. We're going now yuk, Lan."

"Han, you're leaving just like me. Than later you walk from the security guard post to the building."

I wanted to refuse because I had never been in a relationship with another man, except my father. However, he has a point too, the road from the gate to the building at least takes ten minutes, it could be late and cut the salary.

"Han, you're with Ridwan."

"Keep how you?"

"I've promised Intan to wait for him in front of his factory. Relax, what matters now is that you go to work there!"

"Yes, I pay first."

"I'll pay this time." The woman encouraged me to approach Ridwan who was waiting for me on his bike.

Just as I was piggybacking, Ridwan spoke to Wulan. "You don't have to pay, Lan. I paid for it. We go first."

Wulan's hand was accompanying us. Ridwan looked smiling looking at me from the rearview mirror. "What the hell are you, Wan? Smile so."

"What was I dreaming? Suddenly there was an angel coming down from the kahyangan then riding on my butut motorbike."

I just keep quiet, if I reply to his words it is not impossible that the man will be increasingly aggressively launched his quarrel. The sweet words continued to flow until we arrived at the factory. Incidentally, Beautiful also just arrived in the parking lot. The girl kept looking at me until I approached her.

"Mother Hanna, how can I be with Mas Ridwan? Didn't Mbak just said he wanted to be ushered Mbak Wulan huh?"
