Marry The Heir

Marry The Heir
A gift from mama

After Kean died, there was nothing that Disa did. The room has been trimmed ranging from changing bed linen and pillowcases, cleaning dust, drying the bathroom floor and other work. As Disa recalls, Kean did not like anyone else entering his room other than Kinar so this time his task to make this room feel always comfortable.

There is no commitment they will live where but seeing Kean who does not refuse to stay in the main house or take her home to the town house, it seems like her husband still enjoys their current condition. It's not about where you live but with whom, that's what matters.

In one corner of the wall, he sees a large photo of little Kean with Arini. Maybe Kean was about five or six years old. Kean who looks handsome since he was a child, is indeed very interesting to note.

Disa looks at the photo and imagines what Arini's closeness to her son used to be.

But of the many photos of Kean, Can never see a photo of Kean with Sigit. Not in the town house nor in the main house. Family photos are also displayed many family photos Sigit currently with Liana and Shafira.

The house is big, but it feels empty. There are no shared memories that they capture or indeed those memories never existed.

Switch to tidying up the small closet next to the window. As is the case in the town house, this closet is filled by Kean's favorite action figure. Can be imagined Kean's childhood was only filled with expensive toys without any friends to play with. In fact, the best time for children to play is not with expensive educational toys but playing with both parents so that they feel cared for.

Kean didn't get that chance, nor did Disa. They both grew up with no sweet memories in childhood.

Unintentionally opening the drawer, Disa found a photo. A little boy with a man who was both wearing cowboy clothes. Funny, they put on a cold face but look cool. Sigit and Kean are the two people in this photo.

Disa looked around where Kean and Sigit were. Like a farm with a green landscape and a horse in the middle of them.

Maybe this is the only memory Kean has with Sigit and he keeps well.

“I was wrong, I once had those memories even if just a little. Can we make memories with papah before he actually left?”

He spoke to the photo in his hand. Swiping Kean's tiny face slowly with his index finger. She smiled, imagining what her husband was like in childhood. Aahh, if he could go back in time and see what Kean used to be up to now like to keep a lot of scars.

The sound of wheels was heard passing through Disa's room. Can put his picture back in the drawer and immediately out of the room. A nurse entered Sigit's treatment room by pushing a trolley.

Isa soon to follow.

“Good morning miss.” Greet the nurse who nodded politely.

“Good morning. Sister what do you want?” curious about what a nurse named Gina would do in her nametag.

“Oh, this is miss. It's time for big master to eat.” Bright Gina.

Disa approached, paying attention to the items Gina was carrying.

“How papah eats? Can papah swallow it?” it is not imagined how the food will enter into the stomach Sigit.

“The food I have pureed and diluted. There is also special milk. The food I will put through the hose that is in the nose.”

“What papah will not feel tight if food goes into the nose?” imagining him spraining just hurts.

Gina smiled thinly, “Of course not miss. This hose is connected directly to the stomach, not the lungs.”

“Oh yes?” Disa's getting curious. He thought all the hoses that go into the nose go into the airway, it's not.

“True miss. Big sir is not wearing an oxygen hose because his breathing is good.”

“Well where did sus come from? Is it because papah doesn't look crowded?” like a child with high curiosity.

“From this monitor.” Point Gina at the monitor next to Sigit.

“This is a number that shows the frequency of normal breathing, the frequency is 12-20 times per minute. Then this is a number that shows the adequacy of oxygen, the limit is 95 – 100% and the tool is clipped on this index finger.”

“For this number is the patient's blood pressure. Everything within normal limits.”

Seriously listening.

“Then, if we chat like gini, what papah hear sus?” Cana noticed Sigit's eyes were slightly open.

“Master heard it miss. It's just that, due to his impaired cognitive function, the master has difficulty understanding and responding to us. However, that did not mean that nothing entered his mind. For this reason, the family is always asked to approach patients such as masters, talk to him, play his favorite songs, remind memories with family or fun stories.” Bright Gina Long wide.

Disa was stunned, looking at Sigit with an uncertain feeling. This guy needs all the attention of the house guy but he is more often alone. It doesn't feel like heart.

“Sus, papah all day in apain aja?”

Gina took a notebook and showed it to Disa. Only this young lady who asks the daily life of her patients.

“I make a schedule for big master. From morning to night.”

Disa took the book Gina showed her, read it carefully.

“There is exercise also sus?” I can't believe what he read.

“True. So every few hours, the patient must change position, so that there is no surface of the skin that is depressed and causes injury. In addition, I also train the master's movement, such as being moved like this so that the muscles of his body are not stiff and shrink.”

Disa nodded in understanding. “Can I learn how to feed papah?”

“Sure miss.”

Gina brought the trolley close to Sigit. Opening the hose cover that the tip is slightly folded and then pairing the spuit with a large size. Then he put the milk into the spuit and opened the folds that he bent.

The white liquid also flowed through the hose and into the body Sigit.

“Like this is more or less the way. Must be sure that the head is a little high compared to his body so as not to choke.”

Disa begins to understand what Gina teaches. While giving the water to drink, Disa tried to do so under Gina's attention.

“Pah, drink yaa.. So that fresh papah and stomach is comfortable.”

“This is in vitamins and drugs, said sister gina no hook kok, because it goes directly to the stomach.” Disa chattered while doing what Gina taught.

Gina simply smiled seeing Disa engrossed in doing what she was teaching. He is very grateful that there are family members who want to be involved directly pay attention to the condition of the sigit.

“Sa,” a voice sounded from the door mouth.

“Pah, no mama, want to see papah.” He spoke to Sigit who was lying down. Disa's cheerful face greeted him and told Sigit instead made Arini's heart suddenly tremble.

At the very end of it was Sigit lying down. The man's face grew more and more tyrannical making his heart slip. He remembered what the doctor said about Sigit.

“We don't know, when the patient will wake up can be short, can be very long.”

“Then what if my husband does not wake up?” that fear then appeared in Arini's mind.

The doctor sighed deeply, like it was heavy to convey what he had in mind.

“In developing countries, such conditions end with the act of euthanasia as a way to end the suffering of patients. But in our country is not legalized.”

“Everything is returned to the family.”

A scary answer for Arini and honestly he was deadlocked. There was no way she could have done a dead injection on her husband. So he decided to wait and hoped Sigit would wake up.

“Papah just finished eating mah. I also took medicine.” The sound of Disa makes Arini stunned from her daydream.

He smiled crazily and looked at Sigit's face which he then wiped.

“You heard, it's in mas, your son-in-law.” Lirih Arini's. The sudden mellow atmosphere made Disa think that she might have mispronounced.

“She's a good girl and I love her. Did you hear his spirit?” Arini grabbed Disa's hand which she then stacked on Sigit's hand.

“This hand sincerely takes care of me when people shout at me out of fear. This time, this hand loves you. We're lucky mas.” Arini's tears broke. On the swab of his face full of affection then kissed his cheeks gently.

“Thank you son, already want to meet papah.” Full of haru.

When he heard Kean say that Disa wanted to meet Sigit, Arini honestly did not expect. He thought, Disa would definitely hate her father-in-law who always demeaned and insulted her. But apparently not.

“Sama-sama. Now, mamah and papah are parents here and there will take care of you as well as take care of your own parents.” He believed his words in his heart. This is what he wants to do now.

“Thank you son.” Arini hugged him tightly. The atmosphere of the originally quiet and cold room began to warm. Like there was a candle flame that was brought by Disa and illuminated a dark room again deserted.

It is like this should be a family, loving and caring for each other.

*****

Arini took Disa to her room. As promised, there was something he wanted to give to Disa.

A pink box wrapped in lace.

“What is mah?” Disa looked at the confused box that Arini buried in her hand.

“Open,” pinta Arini with confidence.

Slowly opened the box. A shiny object in it that is nothing but a key.

“Mah, this?” Disa stared at the puzzled jagged object in her hand.

Arini took the key and buried it in the hand of Disa which she held tightly.

“Then, when you came out of this house, you were so afraid that you would never come back. Mamah know, how much this family hurts and makes it difficult for you.”

“Mamah hope, when you get out of our house, you will be welcomed with a lot of happiness. Yeah, you found that. Mamah is glad you won a competition that will get you on the big door with plenty of opportunities in plain sight.”

“But again, mamah selfish. Seeing something like losing a part of his life while you are gone, my heart cries. Mamah began to do many things to bring you into this house and become someone who can not be denied his presence including by his papa kean.”

“Maybe evil mamah for putting you in a difficult condition. Where you will be faced with reality to continue your dreams and leave Kean for a while, forgive mamah.”

Arini sniffed in front of Disa, she knew sometimes as a mother who wanted to make her child happy, she acted more selfishly.

“Mah, please don't be like this.” Disa embraced Arini and hugged her tightly. I can't bear to see this woman crying so much.

“Mamah never forces. He could have refused to marry me. Regardless of whether you win the competition or not, you realize if there is a rejeknya there may be a way.”

“Can marry aa, because she does love him. That's the only reason. So please don't feel guilty.” Lirih Disa who rubbed Arini's back gently.

Arini hiccuped but he could still hold back his crying so as not to break even more.

“Thank you son, thank you. You have brought happiness not only in life kean but also in life mamah.” Arini let go of her embrace and stared fixedly at Disa.

“This gift, may not be worth your kindness. But mamah hope, you want to accept it.” The tears that covered her face and nose.

“There is a boutique, which is not far from here. The place has a fairly spacious backyard and there is a gazebo that you can use as a place to paint.”

“The distance is only about 15 minutes from here and not too far from the town house. Mom please, you want to accept it nak.” Bright Arini expectantly.

Disa opened her hand and stared at the key in her hand. “Thank you mah. But, this is too much for disa.”

“Do not say like that, this does not mean anything on the appeal of what you have done to our family.”

“Suppose this small gift from mamah as well as the freedom you can give to you. Hem?”

Disa looked at Arini in disbelief. I don't know what he has to say, all his vocabulary is lost to describe his gratitude and gratitude to Arini.

“Thank you mah.” He hugged Arini.

“Can promise, disa will keep this boutique well. Make a good work mah.”

“Yes son, do what you like. Whether it's painting or designing. Always happy son.” Pekik Arini's.

Disa is unable to speak. He just wanted to hug Arini as tightly as possible. To him, the myth that all in-laws are evil is broken. In reality, there has never been a truly evil or truly good person. Everyone with a deficiency and an advantage.
