Dream Smile

Dream Smile
Episode 6

I threw my head at the door I just opened, of course after I said excuse me. My eyes were now momentarily fixed on the figure that was in focus staring at the laptop, and without looking at me the person allowed me to sit in front of him.

I took a deep breath after sitting down, trying to keep my attitude that is sitting firmly by putting both hands on the disorder. Honestly, I feel so nervous this time, because I was dealing directly with one of the management of the Kartika hotel, I learned the information from one of my friends who had been interviewed.

Judging from his appearance is very perfectionist, as well as in every theory taught by teachers that every hotel employee must have grooming standards. It aims to maintain a clean and neat impression in the eyes of guests and other things.

And the image of this man in front of me was so clear that his face was so clean that there was no beard or mustache. Neatly combed hair gives the impression of manly.

"Hkmm, why stare at me." Deheman's voice now made me a little surprised. His eyes now looked at me, and then he started to say, "Is it because I'm handsome?" he said he sounded confident.

My voice stuck in my throat with my eyes twitching. What's wrong with me, I thought. The interview hasn't started yet, I've made a mistake, but just blame my brain and my working eyes for concluding a theory that connects it right to the object in front of the eye.

"In the scope of hospitality, how many management divisions do you know?"

I flinched a little, without making small talk of asking names and so on people in front of me now ask core questions. I immediately normalized my surprise and began to answer, "There are several Front office departments whose duties are directly related to guests, accepting room reservations, registration or providing information that guests want. And in this department is still divided into several parts. The second Food and Baverage department handles matters related to processing food and beverages. The third is the House keeping department which has the duty and responsibility for all hotel cleanliness both indoor and public areas. This department is still divided into several parts—,"

"Enough!" he ordered, raising one hand. "Which department are you interested in?" said again.

I was surprised and spontaneously I said, "Father immediately accept me?"

The eyebrows of the person before me frowned. "I didn't say that" he said quickly.

"I'm just asking, which hospitality school is your department of interest, am I not offering you the position you want?" he said again clarifying the sentence.

I momentarily fell silent, thinking that I was actually in this major also because of the cost. At the beginning I enrolled in this school, I only heard from alumni that in this department is not so much money when compared to other majors. And the thing I'm interested in is actually in the Food and Beverage department but the amount of practice is part of the obstacle.

There was a tap of a finger on the table, and I replied, "Food and baverage, I tend to be there."

"Why?" he said he was asking me for a reason.

"In the FB department I will meet many guests, such as serving food. And many of my friends say that if we meet a lot of guests we will get tips," said I was too excited, so I did not realize I was saying my purpose.

The man before me chuckled, with a smile hidden on his face he seemed to nod. "Do you not know in other fields there is also, the intensity of meeting with more and more guests" he said and made me more curious.

"Roomboy, bellboy, porter for example" he said. "And now you can go out" he said, letting me go.

I looked up not to get out of my seat. "Does that mean you reject me like everyone else?" I just need an explanation.

"Then, you rejected me because of my words earlier, sorry if my words seem naive by mentioning the word tips," I said half regretted my words earlier. Sometimes my friends and I talk about it and talk about it.

I heard her breathing and the man in front of me was looking at me. "How sure are you to be accepted as an intern at a Kartika hotel?"

"Ninety-nine to ninety-nine percent, the rest is up to you" I said.

"Ok you out" he said, letting me go with a subtle-sounding sentence.

I went from my seat to the door, and before I pulled the door handle I turned and said, "Sir, you don't realize your choice is just a little, one percent doesn't even exist. Remember, sir, ninety-nine point ninety-nine percent is my belief" I said half-holding my nervousness, then I quickly passed by without wanting to see and hear him respond to me.

"Where is the interview, why is it shaking?" said the Princess attending me she was closely watching me.

"Because of the handsome Mas-Mas who was interviewed earlier?" chirps Sarah answers Princess's question.

"I don't think I'm welcome" I guess in a lethargic voice.

"Why is that?" ask other friends to know.

"Pasak after the interview I slipped the same tips words," I said while condemning my words earlier.

"Ha ha ha. endless twitching eyes," chirped my friends while laughing at me.

"So a real innocent man!" said Sandy who suddenly came scooping my face.

I who regretted my behavior and attitude earlier did not heed the pressure of my friends. "This is because of you too, who are always the story and the lure of money tips at the internship later," I said while staring annoyed at them.

"Yes already if not accepted internships there, can still participate in internships elsewhere. After all there are hotels that have a high star level from the Hotel Kartika," said Sandy trying to entertain.

Yes, too, my mind. After all this is also still in the first wave of internship opening, another two weeks will still be opened and continue for the next two months. But being part of the first wave for me is a virtue. The sooner it is done the better.

We also now continue to follow the lesson hours until noon before and the school hours after, some children from other classes have voiced the news if the list of interns received at the Kartika Hotel is recorded on paper stamped on the mading board. Soon my other friends and I ran over there, jostling to see what our names were on there.

I who have no hope and not sure is now surprised, because my name Ayu Andhini is at the top of the list as one of the students who are lucky to be accepted as an intern at the Kartika Hotel.
