Dream Smile

Dream Smile
Episode 1's

Ayu Andhini that's my name. I was born in Solo, a descendant of natives with a minimalist nose, my skin is not as white as the models of advertising on television but impressed exotic colors, typical of Javanese girls.

My appearance really seems ordinary, because to look extraordinary definitely needs funds, while I was born from a simple family.

I am now a teenager, puberty who wants to know everything, including wanting to know what love is.

My daydream is now a little crumpled, I was observing the activity of a group of teams who were playing basketball in the school yard.

The paper leaflet is now swaying in front of my face, after I noticed it was my friend Risty. I pulled the paper and without reading it I knew.

I sniffed then folded the paper in my hand and I put it in my pocket.

"Last tomorrow," said Risty who now took a seat beside me.

"Thanks yes, I'm back to trouble you," I told Risty.

"Liet it down," she replied.

The paper is a leaflet that must be filled by the elders or Mr. RT and RW who are in the residence of the student. I deliberately asked for the paper with the aim that next week I could take the class exam.

Forced, because my parents have not been able to pay my school fees are still delinquent. Fortunately, my school gave waivers for students to take the exam even though they had not completed payment administration and the conditions had to fill in and request legalization from the local elders.

Once obtained, the clerk will give the student exam card and the difference is that my card will later get a red stamp, which reads the word "Temporary."

Shame, shame because my circumstances are different from my friends.

"Hi, ngalamun!" scold Risty patted my shoulder.

"When am I rich?" I said sighing while looking at the slightly blazing sky.

Risty chuckled, "What's rich?"

"Rich monkey" chirped the Princess who now came carrying two iced tea placed on a plastic bag.

With a sneering mouth I received the iced tea plasimkan and then sipped it. "Much money," I said after taking a sip of ice water, slightly treating the thirst in my esophagus.

Princesses laugh at me. "Many money?" he said as if to give a solution, I nodded in response. He said, "Here I tell you, "" he ordered me to obey.

"Maintain tuyul," he said lirih in my ears.

"Damn it," I said a little annoyed at him. I'm being serious he just thinks of it as a joke. I also fell silent and no longer responded to him.

This is one of the unique of this country, the pain of people in the ketawain.

The princess now laughed out loud as if satisfied because I looked annoyed, defeated at her words. But before long his laughter stopped and now nudged Risty's arm, as if beckoning to ask what was happening to me.

My brain is always messed up when approaching semesters and exams, the cost is a big obstacle for me. Though if I think I have just stepped on the first level of SMK, there is still a long time that I will take. But this is how, I want to say what has become my fate.

"Sorry" said the Princess afterwards. "I have a little savings, if you want you can wear it first," said the Princess sincerely to me.

"No," I quickly refused. I need it but I can't wear it, because I'll be confused to give it back. And again, the Princess is actually not a real person here, she just joined the living with her Uncle and Aunt here. It just so happened that his uncle was working as one of the guards of this school.

"Why, you don't have to be shy" he told me.

"I will refuse if you offer me money. But —," I said paused for a moment. "Otherwise if you're offering me a job, I mean if there's any information about the job opening, I'll accept it" I said, hoping.

The princess thought for a moment, then sat down precisely beside me while embracing my shoulder. "You're sure, school and work is hard Ayu, let alone we as students are obliged to study, your time will be more seized when used for work," he said to give understanding to me.

"But I need money" I answered with my determination.

"What if your ranking goes down?" ask again.

I held my head up which was down. "I'll try to keep it, but— if it can't— I will accept the risk," I replied convinced myself it's okay if the rank decreases, as long as I can slightly alleviate the cost that my parents have to bear.

"Then after school you come with me, yesterday across the minimarket I saw there was a job vacancy, maybe just want to accept a partime job," said Princess to me and I agree.

After returning home from school I and my two friends went straight there, precisely the Mahkota store that sells various kinds of sandals as well as shoes. Judging from the goods sold are economical products at a price that is popular.

I anxiously began to ask to meet the owner of this store, and it was fortunate that the owner was in the place so I immediately conveyed my purpose here.

The owner of this store welcomed me well, I was given the opportunity to become one of his employees, although the working hours I follow when I come home from work and school holidays I am required to enter work. The day after I was just allowed to enter, for other conditions may follow.

I came home with a happy heart, I rode my bike home. The house where I stopped was also shelter from the scorching rain, although not magnificent but quite comfortable occupied.

My return was greeted by a fluffy smile that emanated from the tiny lips of my sister, Zahra. She is only two years old, I used to think why I grew up having a sister.

At first it was a shame to know my mother was pregnant, but after my sister was born, it was as if the atmosphere became more different. His smile and manner filled the house with joy, but only recently did I know that my sister was born special.

"Assalamualaikum.." I said as I entered the house, also approaching my sister who was sitting on the floor.

"Greetings alaikum.." replied my sister with her distinctive voice. I went up to him and I pecked his cheeks.

My mother, whose name is Intan, is now out of the kitchen, seen in her hand carrying a bottle of pacifier filled with milk, and it is certain what my mother brought out to my sister.

"Change, then have lunch" my mother ordered after I welcomed her hand to kiss her hand.

I followed and immediately entered the room, the walls with paint fading the roof tile also piles of clothes and my school textbooks filled the wooden run without doors, he said, there's nothing special in my room but I think the word comfort and safety is the main thing.

I put my backpack down and then I lay my body down for a moment on my mattress. Staring at the roof and counting the tiles one by one, as my mind guessed "Tomorrow, tomorrow and tomorrow will my fate always be the same?"
