CEO's Secret Husband

CEO's Secret Husband
|25|. So You Lied Before

"Yes?"

"It's about to be nine o'clock by night. You can go to the kitchen to prepare your own dinner"

"Ah, well" Maribel took the tray and went to the kitchen.

During the day he only ate bread as a stomach booster, therefore even though Aldrich did not tell him to, he would still leave because he was hungry. Taking out her phone, she intends to take out the food delivery.

Unfortunately, the phone ran out of power.

"Yes.." All day he had been busy working until he forgot to charge his phone.

Rubbing his rumbling stomach, he looked around the kitchen, "Should I go to cook?"

At the residence, he had a waiter who prepared food for him. When wandering abroad, he would only order food at any time or go to the nearest restaurant to fill his stomach which in essence, he never had any experience with cooking.

Going to open the refrigerator door, Maribel stared at the contents of it that were already full of vegetables, thinking about what was roughly the easiest to process. Until when his eyes saw the egg, his smile immediately rose, "I think the cow's eye egg is easy to make"

He took two eggs from the refrigerator and placed them on the stove side table. Taking out a skillet hanging on the wall, he placed it on the stove. Igniting the fire, Maribel directly poured oil on it until she felt enough.

Only Maribel didn't notice it at all. What he thought was enough, actually almost filled the pan.

He took one egg, knocked it slowly with a spatula and directly poured the contents over the pan containing the oil. The egg sank into a lot of oil.

Maribel watches eggs that sink in clear oil, waiting for them that have not yet shown the process of maturity.

A few minutes waiting, he saw no signs of oil showing the egg frying process. He only saw the oil condition that displayed tiny dots inside it until shortly after, the fringe of the egg white began to twitch.

"Why is it so long?" Frowning her. He rubbed his already very hungry stomach.

When he heard a small popping sound, it showed the oil starting to heat up. Maribel immediately reflexes away for fear of being exposed to the spark.

The sound of oil cranes that started frying eggs was heard. Maribel did not dare to approach the stove. He placed the spatula next to the stove and waited for the eggs to mature by leaning over the refrigerator.

It just so happened that Aldrich went into the kitchen, kindly carrying bottles and glasses to the dishwasher.

"What are you cooking?" Ask Aldrich. His nose faintly smelled the scent of cooking oil that was airborne.

"Cow's eyes" answered Maribel. His attitude looked relaxed, folding both hands in front of his chest while waiting.

"Why are you standing here? Don't go see the frying pan?"

"No, I'm afraid of getting oil"

Aldrich frowned confusedly, "Then how do you know if it's ripe or not?"

Maribel pulled both corners of her lips smilingly replied, "About all right. If I thought it was ripe, I'd instantly turn off the fire"

Aldrich was waiting for a moment.

Although he never touched the kitchen, when he was a child, he often watched his mother cook. His mother would wait in front of the stove while stirring the frying pan with a spatula to make sure the things in the fry were cooked evenly, as well as the soup pot, his mother would check occasionally while stirring him with a spoon making sure it was ripe or not.

But this girl...

"Did you always cook this way?"

How should I answer it? It was the first time he touched the kitchen. Maribel smiled a little, "En"

"How do you estimate ripening or not without checking the frying pan?"

Aldrich walked over to the stove. His eyes immediately widened in shock at the oil so much filled the pan and the eggs that were submerged in it seemed to be trying hard to rise to the surface.

"Have you ever cooked before?" Aldrich turned around, turning his head towards Maribel who was standing leaning against the refrigerator.

Maribel thought, there is no point in lying. The man must have found his mistake, why say so.

Biting her lips, Maribel shook her head with her pitiful smile, "Not yet"

Aldrich looked to breathe. Really he wondered where Sean got the waiter that even the way to cook eggs didn't know, "So you lied before"

Didn't he just tell you how to cook?

Maribel bit her lips with a guilty feeling, "That's.I'm afraid you'll fire me for knowing I can't cook"

Turning off the stove fire, Aldrich said, "Perhaps if I were human I'd fire you" Because he's a vampire who doesn't need to eat like humans eat, so he wouldn't mind his servant who couldn't cook at all.

Maribel stroked her chest, seemingly sighing in relief.

"Get me an empty cup"

"Ah, well" Maribel nodded and hurriedly picked up the cup as Aldrich had requested.

"It"

Aldrich took a cup and poured half the oil that filled the pan into it leaving little oil left.

Then he lifted the very greasy half-cooked cow's eye egg, "The plate"

"Oh" Maribel immediately ran to pick up the plate that was on the shelf and handed it to Aldrich.

"Look" Aldrich put the oil-filled cow's eye eggs on the plate, "With that much oil, do you want to make yourself sick?"

Maribel rubbed her neck, smiling shyly, not knowing what to say.

"Take another egg" Tell Aldrich later.

Maribel nodded and picked up the one egg that was on the table. Just as he was about to hand it to Aldrich, he saw the man who seemed to roll his sleeves up to his elbows and his sturdy lanterns moving mesmerizingly when turning on the stove.

Aldrich raised his hand, "Give me"

"Oh!" Maribel who a while ago was fascinated so daydream, jerked and immediately put the egg in the hands of Aldrich.

"If you only want to cook cow's eye eggs, there's no need to put too much oil. But just enough, like this" Aldrich pointed at the skillet that had little oil left in it, "Or else you just submerged it instead of frying it, you understand?" Aldrich looked at the face of Maribel standing beside him.

"Eun" Maribel draped a pinch of her hair behind her ear and nodded. He seemed to blush from being lectured like that by Aldrich.

Taking the spatula and breaking the egg with a single tap, Aldrich directly poured the contents over the already hot oil.

Maribel's eyes grew amazed when he saw the egg immediately expands with the sound of oil crenyes, "Woah, very fast reaction. Why was I taking so long?"

Maribel's attitude seemed to exceed that of a four-year-old boy full of amazement when he saw something new.

"Have you made sure the oil was hot before?" Aldrich seemed to be frowning his pair of eyebrows, turning his head towards Maribel.

"..." - ".Maribel looked at Aldrich in confusion.
