CEO's Secret Husband

CEO's Secret Husband
|17|. Doing Something Bad

The company that his father started is a classy furniture company in the city of J named Comfort which has spread its wings to several countries. To his knowledge, their best-selling products are household furniture that uses wood base material instead of iron.

Callie raised her glasses and her eyes focused on the tablet screen in her hand, "Based on consumer satisfaction data, we get a lot of bad reviews especially in products that use wood base material. Many of them are complaining about our products whose durability is not as good as it used to be. So I think the incongruity you feel is not without cause"

"Defense is not as good as it used to be?" Maribel frowned his pair of brows, "Did someone have changed the ingredients?"

Callie raised the corner of her lips upwards, smilingly answering, "That's not impossible"

Maribel's eyes flashed coldly with his conjecture, "It looks like we should go check it out to find out"

Callie hugged the tablet she was holding and nodded in agreement at what Maribel said.

"What's my agenda now?"

"I managed to steal the information, if there is a meeting after lunch later"

"Haa, so you stole it huh"

"You want how else, ma'am? Nobody here thinks I'm your secretary" Callie shrugged her shoulders helplessly.

Maribel's gaze turned cold, "They don't think you're the same as not acknowledging me as the CEO of the company"

Callie's got a good understanding with Maribel. Today, however, he is like Maribel's right hand. But those people were so brave to ignore him. Obviously they acted so because they thought Maribel was nothing.

"It looks like I have to do something bad today"

In order to resuscitate those people, Maribel thought she needed to do it.

Entering lunchtime, Maribel simply tells Callie to go. He felt not hungry just continued to scan reports after reports related to the company and studied carefully.

As an understanding secretary, Callie kept coming in with her a few packs of bread and a cup of cold espresso. She simply put it on the coffee table and immediately left the room, reluctantly teasing how seriously Maribel learned things.

Just as the lunch break was running out, Callie walked into Maribel's room reminding the young CEO, "Mom, it's time for the meeting to start"

Maribel closed the documents and prepared to go to the meeting room.

His appearance left people astonished. A little of it can be interpreted, like they did not expect the appearance of Maribel there.

Breta who was sitting on the main bench that was supposed to belong to that CEO, her facial expression turned a little bad seeing Maribel coming.

Let him so quickly fix his expression and smile sweetly at his nephew, "My dear, aunt did not think you would come to the company today, because since morning I have not seen you. That's why I'm sitting here to replace you"

Maribel honestly felt sick of accepting her aunt's sweet, false attitude. But then she kept a big smile and replied, "Ah, I came a little late this morning and have taken care of something in my study. Maybe that's why you didn't see me auntie"

"Because now you're the CEO of the company, you can't set a bad example for employees. Come early next time"

Maribel kept a smile on her lips saying, "I understand aunt, next time I won't be late if it's not for something urgent"

"That's great"

"Then, can you wake up now auntie?"

"Huh?"

"That's me sitting down"

"Ah, well" To feel hard to get up, Breta had no choice but to stand up and give the chair to Maribel.

The meeting went as it should. Maribel sat authoritatively in her position, listening to every conversation that took place during the meeting. Sometimes he even commented on some things and no one denied every input he submitted because it was quite reasonable.

Just when the meeting is over. Maribel is holding people back from dispersing immediately.

Folding both of her hands on the table, Maribel looked at everyone at the meeting table with her solemn gaze that had a slight touch of cold arrogance.

"I just finished reading the report my secretary gave me last night by email" Maribel said.

The people at the meeting table looked up and Breta wondered what exactly her nephew was going to do.

"Catarina Tamara's. Is the guy here?"

The woman called by Maribel gasped at her seat. Let him take a quick glance at Breta and regain his confidence to remain calm, raising his hand saying, "I'm Mom"

Maribel gave her a deep look, "That's you"

The cold aura that flowed out from him, managed to make some people at the meeting table feel afraid secretly. No exception Catarina who slightly started shrinking.

"What's the reason you refused my secretary's order?"

Catarina's mouth was half open. He doesn't know what to answer.

"He asked you for a report from yesterday's meeting so I could review it. But what's your reason for refusing it?"

"That-that's.." Catarina subconsciously turned towards Breta.

Finding that, Breta immediately looked at him sharply as if saying, 'Don't drag me'.

"If you can't give a reasonable excuse, then I won't hesitate to fire you right now"

"How can—" His reflexes he spoke out loudly.

Maribel smiled coldly, "Why can't I?"

Catarina's face turned pale.

"I can't, however, hire an unreasonable employee like you"

"..." - ".Catarina really didn't know what to answer.

"Well, since you can't give a reasonable reason for your behavior, from today on Catarina Tamara you're fired"

"But Bu—"

"Everything can be broken"

Breta's expression became ugly on the spot. Catarina wanted to ask for her help but the woman had ignored her.

Returning to her room, Callie smiled happily at Maribel while giving her two thumbs up, "Good job Mom" She said happily, "Now I'm sure, I'm sure, the people at the company won't ignore you anymore and start recognizing you as the CEO who will lead the company forward"

Maribel simply smiled knotfully, "Since the head of the planning division has been fired you take care of someone who can replace him. You can take one of the teams that performs well, has good leadership and is certainly trustworthy"

"Okay, ma'am, I'll do it"

Suddenly Maribel remembered something, "Ah, how can I forget—"

"Forget what Mom?" Callie's confused.

Maribel did not answer. He got up and looked for his car keys and said, "I'm sorry I have to go. If there is a report that requires review I just send it by email. I'll check on her later"
