"Make me a cup of coffee. Be sure to use the coffee beans, grind them as smooth as possible and put two pieces of sugar into them. For the temperature of the water I want not to be too hot but not too warm"
Callie held a faint smile on her lips and grimaced in her heart. Sure enough, it wasn't too hot but not warm either. Obviously the woman was trying to play him. Does he look like someone who is easily intimidated?
It wasn't the first time she had experienced something like that at work. Before becoming the CEO's personal secretary, she had a wealth of job experience at small to medium-sized companies in the city of J. From being an ordinary employee, HRD, to division chairman. Thanks to that she has eaten the company's stressful world salt acid, not to mention meeting toxic coworkers and bosses who treat her like a lackey.
Sadly, the last time he was dropped from the company was scapegoated for a mistake he did not make. Thanks to that his name became bad and almost no company would want to recruit him.
Until one chance makes him meet with Maribel. He had no idea at first that the young girl was an heir to the company. He just complained saying no company accepted him just for the reason of his bad dismissal last time.
He did nothing wrong and his performance was always good. But in the end outsiders like him who have no insiders, so easy to push mistakes.
Maribel who that day was just a random person who had accidentally heard of his fate. Taking his resume, seeing him who is quite experienced and accomplished, he was recruited as his personal secretary.
"Hey, why are you even sitting there?"
Callie snapped from the daydream.
"Haa, I don't know how my naive niece recruited someone as incompetent as you as her secretary"
Callie's fingers involuntarily clenched, so she kept her ugly expression and fixed the location of the glasses acting like what Breta said was just the wind then that she didn't really care about.
Breta who saw it, was bluffing her teeth suppressing her irritation in the heart.
"Still not going?" Snap Breta. From Callie's attitude, it seemed like she had absolutely no intention of doing what she told her to.
"Oh, you're telling me to go?" Callie blinked her eyes with an innocent look, "Ah, then excuse me" She impolitely turned around. Pushing the door and out of Breta's room.
Then he went to the pantry. Calling one of the workers there. It was a woman who was wiping away glasses and cups. He smiled at her, "Excuse me"
The woman immediately stopped her activities and turned to Callie who looked unfamiliar in her eyes. Probably one of the new employees.
"Yes, what's wrong, ma'am?" Ask politely.
Her courtesy makes Callie smile more gracious, "Mom Breta asked for a coffee order, can you please make it?"
"Ah, of course. That's my job"
"Then please yes. The coffee should be still coffee beans, milled until smooth and for the temperature of the water is not too hot but not warm as well"
The woman was a little stunned to hear that.
"Like Bu Breta's order" Callie continued.
"By the way, has he always had such complicated tastes?" Ask later.
The woman shook her head softly while thinking, "Considering me Bu Breta has never had a problem with using the powdered ones. Even for the temperature of the water it must be really warm or else he will not be able to drink it"
"Ah, so that's it" Callie guessed, the cunning woman did deliberately want to prank him.
Callie didn't ask anything more. He immediately excused me politely and left.
Beside that Breta was waiting in her room. For how many minutes he heard the door being knocked.
"Log in" He exclaimed.
But her eyes were wrinkled in that incoming gaze was one of the company's office girls. He walked with a tray in hand and politely placed a cup of coffee on his desk.
"Please Ma'am"
Breta stunned.
"It's..."
"Ah, someone asked me to make coffee for mom. He said this is the order that mom asked for. Coffee with coffee beans, milled smooth and not too hot but not too warm" he explained, "I've prepared it as you ask Ma'am"
Breta clenched her hand dampening the anger. Feeling the bad atmosphere that was airing, the office girl immediately excused me and hurriedly left the room.
"Damn" Breta swears annoyed.
"How dare he ignore my orders"
He immediately picked up the phone and contacted someone to bring Callie into his room.
Like that, Callie finally got back to standing in front of Breta.
"You ignored my order?" His voice escaped with anger.
Callie glanced at the table, saw a cup of coffee was up there, "No. Isn't your coffee in front of Mom?"
Breta almost exploded. He couldn't stand it and hit the table, "I told you to. I want you to do it" Shouted Breta loudly.
Feeling the woman's anger, Callie gave a close look at her lips to not laugh.
Noticing that, Breta's facial expression instantly turned black, "Before I became angry, quickly go make what I said" Breta's orders, pointing her index finger at the door.
Haa!
Didn't he just get angry?
Callie smiled mockingly inwardly.
"I won't do it"
"You—" Breta's hand that was clenching her over the table almost took the documents that were on the table and threw them at Callie.
"Sorry Mom, I'm here as Ms. Maribel's private secretary. I work for him, so there is no time to serve you. If you need someone to make coffee, I think office girls can do it for you. Because everyone already has their own job. You can't just bother like that. But yes if you feel the need to be served specifically, you can prepare someone who can be your personal assistant"
"You don't get a big head! Obviously my position here is higher than yours" growled Breta. Staring at Callie's nanar. How dare the new secretary seem to explain something like that to her.
So what's up with that?
Callie would love to answer that. But he thought it was unnecessary or maybe this feud just wouldn't end.
"I think I've conveyed what I've said. I'm not big-headed here, I'm just acting the way I should. Then excuse me" Callie stepped out to reach the door and walked out.
Breta who had exploded in anger immediately took the coffee cup that was on the table and threw it on the floor.
