Chapter 40: If

Late in the afternoon, Yuan was still trying hard to finish his work. Although Yuan continued to try hard to concentrate in every meeting he lived, his mind remained chaotic filled with the two women who had their faces cut in half.

The two women who filled Yuan's mind and only differed in hairstyles alone. One straight is black and more often neatly stored in high bonds, while the other is blonde and always scattered in a wavy style. In addition, the most striking difference between the two is the gaze. When the straight-haired woman harbors sadness and more often avoids Yuan's gaze, the wavy hair always looks at her enthusiastically among the bursts of love that always radiate.

Keinya and Kaiya were the two women. But of course, even though the face even looks like a betel in two, both are different especially regarding attitude and way of thinking. Even though both are stubborn with their own egos. The difference is, when Keinya will retreat to the happiness of a loved one, Kai just the opposite. Kaiya will advance, trying to conquer all he wants. Even though what is the goal is impossible.

Yuan knew very well about it, moreover he had also been stuck in it.

After having his secretary replace him in an ongoing meeting, Yuan left a long table of important men, mostly men in their forties, with hasty steps. The steps that changed became faster and faster even ran, when he came out of the room while staring anxiously at his cellphone screen.

Yuan closed his eyes until clear details flowed from both ends of his eyes which from the beginning heard the voice answering his call to Rara's mobile number, became hot. The voice that immediately made him sick, angry, and disappointed. 

Yuan wanted to anger his anger to vent the disappointment that accompanied him for a moment after hearing the voice. Moreover, the presence of the voice also made him sure, his struggle to get Keinya would disappear just because of the reality that the woman said to Keinya.

Three years ago, precisely after surviving a fatal accident that almost took his life, Yuan deliberately sought information about his blood donation. At first he intended to thank and establish a good relationship, because without the blood of the person, of course he did not have a chance to return to life. But apparently, when he found out Keinya as the woman who donated blood to him, his thought was not only to be grateful and to establish a good relationship. Because, at first he saw the figure of Keinya who was busy spending time with Rara where the two often walk from the index before using public transportation, where they often take public transportation, Yuan falls in love with the owner of the blood that gave him his life. 

The longer, Yuan was more comfortable looking at Keinya's face even from a distance. Although strangely enough, every time Yuan would approach Keinya, there was always something disturbing especially for work. Incoming calls always adorned his phone in the second he was already very close to Keinya. Or else, there were events that prevented Yuan from approaching Keinya. Either because Keinya who had already left when Yuan's view was blocked, or even Yuan who was trapped and often had to prioritize the safety of others including himself.

Until an unexpected opportunity, more precisely two months after he recognized Keinya, the thirty-year-old man accidentally met Kaiya who he thought Keinya. The incident happened at the airport when Yuan was about to fly to Singapore. From there began their closeness. Of course Yuan did not suspect that the woman he thought Keinya and even called by the same name was someone else. Yuan was completely unsuspecting, let alone Kai Kai willingly being summoned as well as being considered Keinya.

They are instantly familiar, close and increasingly inseparable. Starting from greeting, Yuan said everything and it was addressed to Keinya about the accident he experienced following blood from Keinya, and was reciprocated well by Kaiya. Then Kaiya gave her mobile number to Yuan at the man's request—again, Yuan asked for Keinya's number, but Kaiya manipulated everything. 

And as time went on, their relationship continued. Yuan invites Kai to marry, still as Keinya. Until the day of their wedding, after they had tied the sacred promise, Yuan felt devastated and even lied to. His confidants gave him shocking news about Keinya who turned out to have a twin named Kunya. Worse, who had been with Yuan and until Yuan married Kai. As for Keinya, the woman who gave life to Yuan as well as the woman Yuan so desperately longed for, knew Yuan absolutely nothing and had nothing to do with their relationship. 

Kai who manipulated the situation. Be, the first night that should be the peak of their love, uniting them in a very sacred relationship, is the end of their relationship.

Yuan was furious at Kaiya, even up to this second. Yuan also remembered, back then, that night that should have been his first night with Keinya had Kai not pretended to be Keinya, Yuan annulled the marriage shortly after suing Kai for his lies. And even though Kainya admitted, apologized, regretted his lies, and convinced Yuan that the reason was lying because Kainya immediately fell in love with Yuan at the beginning of Yuan greeting, even though Yuan meant Keinya, who was the one who said that, Yuan still could not accept it especially if they had to continue their relationship. Yuan only wanted Keinya who he found had married another man that day.

Kainya had once again convinced Yuan under the pretext that Keinya had married another man, in fact Yuan also loved Kaiya. However, Yuan firmly brushed aside and blamed Kai for Keinya's marriage. Because for Yuan, if Kainya does not manipulate the situation, of course Keinya will not marry another man. Of course Keinya's first marriage also did not lead to betrayal that made Keinya traumatized. 

Yuan broke into tears thinking about all that while continuing to drive the car. Believers have indeed found the existence of Keinya who stayed at one of the hotels in Bandung. However, is Keinya also still willing to accept Yuan after what happened to Yuan in the past even that concerns Kai Yuan who believes is very meaningful to Keinya? 

Yuan believes Keinya would prefer to sacrifice and put more importance on Kai's happiness than living with Yuan, even though Keinya has already started to love Yuan.

Yuan continued to drive his vehicle at full speed in the middle of the time that was already stepping on the start of the day. It was already one in the morning when Yuan confirmed it through the watch in his left hand. Yuan intended to go to Keinya and explain everything, although later the rejection was what Yuan received.

If only, Kainya had not manipulated the situation from the start. If only, Yuan also explained to Keinya before Kai came back. If only, really if, as the antidote so closely with regret even loss. Including when the new number also tried to contact him by phone. Keinya remained with his stance, living happily with the Rainbow without people from his past let alone Yuan. Be, Keinya turned off his phone again and brought Rainbow without first finding out about the nearest hospital from the hotel via mobile phone. At the scene of Yuan's accident, the police in charge were still trying to dial Keinya's number as the last mobile phone number Yuan had called before the accident. Next to Yuan's hand was stretched out blocking Keinya's step. Keinya's heart beat chaotic when he found the fingers following the familiar watch, covered in fresh blood, blocking his steps. 

Fear instantly took hold of Keinya, just because his thoughts regarding the hand were Yuan's. However, on what basis, Yuan is in Bandung? And even if it was, the man should be fine since the strict escort would always accompany.

When Keinya made sure of the face of the black-shirt figure before him, that second also the world Keinya seemed to stop spinning. The originally noisy atmosphere also became suddenly silent, where Keinya's heart seemed to burst out a moment after he found Yuan's bloodied face, welcoming him with tears.
