“Perang”
The cold, wet days continue until December. By early December, the school had been in the final weeks of exams. The odd semester exam of the 2023 school year. Well it feels like just yesterday we changed years, now you know it's the end of the year.
Because of the exam, the time to go home is accelerated until noon. Alya also began to show her desire to camp to Father and Mother. Dad of course approved of us when I agreed. The hard thing is to persuade Mom. He still doesn't like Alya very much. He thinks what comes from Alya is just a bad thing.
"But I want to come too! We haven't been camping together for a long time! Come on, Mom, you can come too." Hallin said with a little persuasion or pleading.
The twins also wanted to come along, they started to beg Mom. "Truely Auntie, camping together is a fun thing. Think of it as a reward for having fought the test."
Alya persuaded. Mom just grunted annoyed. Sipping a few sips of water he then said. "Do you want to go home?"
Mother asked while glancing at Alya. "For me you're my family, don't you think I am?"
Alya started acting crocodile tears. Just then Mom involuntarily nodded with a slight carried away feeling, she said. "Alright, we've decided this semester we're vacationing together at Grandma's house! Nak Alya can also come, after there you are free to play, camp or whatever."
After hearing Mother's decision, Hallin and the Children were the noisiest as they cheered happily. Grandma's house is quite far from our house. But just like this house, Grandma's house is on the edge of the forest. It would be great to camp there. Grandma's house is also on the border of Lepamala village with other villages.
I want him to wander around looking at that place. Mom and Dad haven't taken me there in a long time. That place always interests me. Alya was also seen looking forward to this holiday. Although he looked calm, he could not cover up the impatience hidden within his eyes.
Time passes as fast as the wind. November has changed to December. Didn't everything pass so quickly. The worst thing for me is somehow I don't even remember the things I did during November.
Today is the first day of the semester break. Since our exams were all over, it was time to collect the promise of Father and Mother who said they wanted to take us to Grandma's house. It was a busy morning as we all cleaned up. Prepare to go in the long run.
Preparation is complete after noon. In the car, it's not just the humans who are in it. Pets are not left because no one feeds us when we leave. That way our little family went to Grandma's house.
Heavy rain accompanied our trip that day. The twins had fallen asleep together with Hallin. Remaining Father and Mother who talk occasionally. In the back seat was Alya and me. If I, in the rain like this, just want to sleep covered in a warm blanket. But I can't because my eyes are awake and can't be closed. Maybe because it's on its way.
Seeing the rain stubs dripping without a pattern made me want to write a few poems. Immediately I picked up the thick book and my pen that I never left behind. Alya kept glancing towards me who wrote.
With a little thought, my movements stopped for a moment. After several stops, I finished the warm poem I just made. Alya took my thick book to see what I wrote. "I read it?"
He asked but the book was already in his hands, if that was the case there was a chance to refuse? I saw his head nodding as he read my poem. Sometimes he glances at me with a mocking look. "For when have you been afraid of Thunder"
He continued reading until the end. As he handed me my book he said with a soft laugh. "I don't see a smile on your face"
He said as he slowly pierced my cheek with the tip of his finger. "OK, stop. This is called the image of feeling and vision."
"Yes, it's up to you. I want to sleep. Wake me when I get there." Alya said as her eyes had closed and her head was propped up on my shoulder.
If you want to know the poem I'm doing, I'll write it.
“Perang”
Thundering lightning hugged the sky.
Wind and clouds are not left behind.
The sun is gone, it doesn't know its direction.
The rain strongly shrieked in my ears.
The light of lightning almost blinded me. Thunder screams shook my heart.
The fear started eating me.
I looked through the window...
The rain was flowing as if it did not stop.
Thunder continued to sound as his attendant.
The occasional wind joined in presenting whistles.
If the sky were a battlefield.
Sunlight joins forces to get rid of the storm and become the winner.
Nature gives rainbows.
Along with that, my smile shone.
Author note: this is a pure author work. Self-made natural poetry 👍
I think I understand why Alya is a little mocking. After all, the feeling element in the poem was so strong. While my flat and cold face has symbolized someone who has no feelings. How else, this heart is a person who is filled with feelings.
I felt the windshield of the car that felt cold, the cold almost equal my body temperature at that time. But I certainly have no effect. This body had almost reached its limit. This sense of body almost disappeared. And some parts of the skin on the body have started to look a little flabby. I don't think I can hold this body for too long.
"Okay kids. We're here, wake up." Dad said while honking the car horn.
Hallin was the first to open his eyes. He stretched his body while stretching it. With half-open eyes he asked. "We've arrived?"
"Yes, wake the twins up." Said Mom with a gentle smile.
Hallin started to move to wake the twins. I also moved to wake Alya up. I pat her cheek slowly. Then saying. "Hey, wake up..."
"Hm.." He refused to get up, his hand pushing my hand cupped to his face.
I think I should wake her up in a slightly rude way. I held her cheek that felt soft. Then I pinched slowly, then I pulled her cheek. "Wake up lazy girl... Let's get up we're here..."
"Ughs... Yes I'm up, stop your pinching." He said while slapping my hand. Slowly of course.
Mom gave us a big umbrella that would fit us. Because the rain is still quite heavy. Dad ordered to enter Grandma's house first. Take a few bags later.
Just now that I was about to enter Hallin had blocked my path. "Sister, let's take the kittens home too!"
I nodded slowly. Alya had also entered the house first. With me holding the umbrella, Hallin entered the car to retrieve the iron cage containing our pet cat. While waiting for Hallin, I saw the forest area that was not far from Grandma's house.
I could really feel the many gazes that were pointing at me between the rain. It felt like the gaze contained too much air. Some with evil looks, some with good intentions, some just curious. Well, I'm the same. I want to find out what creatures are in the forest.
