The First Curse of Love

The First Curse of Love
44. Point Crushed

Time had already shown at half-elevenpm when Qiara opened her eyes and found the figure of Dean sitting next to her while continuing to look at her.

Dean's face that night looked lethargic, he seemed to be harboring unspeakable sadness and regret. His appearance no longer looks good. He still wore his grey work shirt and left his top two buttons open. The arm of his shirt he folded my shoulder until he showed the muscles in his white hand.

His heart shattered into scattered pieces after finding out that the woman he loved the most after his mother, and who he always tried to keep half dead, had a miscarriage.

Dean was too busy arranging the pieces of his heart to realize that Qiara had already opened her eyes and looked at him while frowning. "Sister Dean? Since when is it here?"

Dean gasped, he shook his head and tried to pull himself away from his long wail. "Eh, Qi? You awake? Sorry."

"Why is Dean here?" Qiara shortened her question earlier.

"The others have been here since morning. Brother Dean told them all to go home and change your guard."

"Sister Dean I—"

"Would you like to see the night view?" Sela Dean deliberately, as if not letting Qiara explain anything to her.

Qiara was silent for a moment, looking at Dean's face inch by inch. And when he found the radiance of sadness from the pair of eagle eyes, Qiara immediately nodded in agreement.

...****...

Dean pushed slowly on Qiara's wheelchair in silence. The two of them both dissolved into silence when they finally arrived at the hospital park which was not crowded enough by the patient that night.

Dean leaned his face right from Qiara's right side while trying to comment on one smile. A smile that was unable to hide the sadness in his clear eyes. "You wanna sit on the bench?" Ask Dean then.

Qiara again just nodded. A moment later, Dean immediately lifted Qiara's body from the wheelchair and carefully sat her down on the park bench. Qiara cleared her throat, trying to neutralize her sudden pounding heartbeat as the masculine scent from Dean's body greeted her sense of smell.

Although Dean looked exhausted that night, it did not completely cover the charm he had.

After completing his task, Dean then took a sitting position beside Qiara. Minutes passed, but neither Dean nor Qiara started the conversation. From Dean's side actually, he was eager to ask Qiara's current state. But when Dean thought about it, what was the point of asking that question when everything was clearly drawn in front of him? Of course Qiara was not in a good state.

Dean's attention then focused on Qiara's hair which yesterday was still long covering part of his back, now looks short to the shoulder. Dean let out a long sigh, a sense of indecision lingering from within him as soon as he knew that all the pain that Qiara was enduring was now caused by Danny, his own sister.

"Son Dean won't talk to me, will he? Dean's brother isn't comfortable around me?" The two questions that Qiara threw at once instantly made Dean gasp and hurriedly turn to him.

The silence that had been trapping them had finally broken instantly.

"No, Qi." Dean replied calmly. It is inversely related to a storm that rips it from the inside.

"Keep, why is Dean's sister?"

"Because I'm Danny's brother, so I don't know how to talk to you. But on the other hand, I want to see you. That's why I'm in front of you clumsily now."

Qiara smiled faintly, "Danny yes Danny, Brother Dean yes Brother Dean. You're not the same person. So, no need to feel guilty. And also make Qia this is not a mistake. Qia same Danny's happy because there's him."

Qiara used the pronoun 'she' to refer to her fallen fetus in a quite bitter tone. The next second his face turned murky. "It's precisely Qia who feels guilty with Danny."

Dean sighed imperceptibly, then threw away his face for a moment.

"Sister Dean...."

"Hm?" Dean looked back at Qiara.

Before replying, Qiara suddenly fell into doubt. It's like weighing something. Qiara tried her hardest to strengthen herself, then while trying to hold back the shakes in her voice, Qiara said softly, "may I pinch Brother Dean's shoulder?" Qiara gave a pause to fill his chest cavity which he felt empty since earlier. "three minutes only..." And then, after shedding tears.

Dean bit his inner lips with a chaotic feeling. The next few seconds, Dean felt Qiara slam his forehead on his shoulder before he even gave permission. The sadness and anger that Dean had endured since then had increasingly undermined him relentlessly.

"Sir Dean is very sick. My heart was stabbed so many times from every direction. It was like something was holding my chest to the point that I had trouble breathing. Even if it can sigh, it feels very painful."

Qiara sobbed very strongly. So strong that he could no longer hold back all that was propping up in him. He spilled everything he could not spill on Dean's shoulder he had once held firm.

And Dean felt like something was ripped in his heart as Qiara's cries grew heartbreaking.

Dean did not even dare to move to give one a hug. He was afraid that every move he made now would further knock down Qiara. That's why Dean chose to keep quiet while listening.

But secretly in him now, the desire to have and make Qiara happy that he had buried yesterday, now arises again. That determination became stronger, wilder, and more uncontrollable.

Dean would risk everything to completely snatch Qiara completely from Danny. His brain even thought silly, even if Qiara did not miscarry and still carry Danny's baby, Dean would also take it from Danny, and become the father of the baby with full and intact.

That was how much Dean loved Qiara, unconditionally.

...****...

"Sister Ray?"

Celine ran up to Ray who was waiting for her in front of his house. As soon as Celine arrived in front of her, Ray Langung hugged her waist and let the girl regulate her unruly sigh. Ray chuckled softly, "even if you don't run like this, I'll wait for you."

"Sister Ray why are you here? Why not rest?" Celine's frown seemed to be ignoring Ray's words.

"I have to go to the hospital now. It's not good to make Dean who takes care of Qiara Semaleman. Tomorrow morning he'll have to go back to Banu."

"That's why Brother Ray is waiting here. I'll change clothes for a second. I'm going with Brother Ray."

Just as Celine was about to turn back inside her house, Ray pulled her waist and hugged the girl tightly. "Sister Ray?" Lirih Celine while moving both hands and hugged Ray's fragile shoulder back.

Slowly, Celine began to feel Ray crying, as her soft sobs faintly rang out. At that moment Celine immediately sighed in relief. At least Ray does not need to pretend to be strong in front of him, at least Ray can freely spill the cry he always holds in his arms.

"It's okay, Brother Ray can cry as much."
