The Antagonist: The World Ends Theory
Chapter 117 - Brother & Sister

"We have to get out of this forest, Valentina."

"What?! And leave Clara?!" Valentina started to be angry.

James was worried. He knows how strong Clara is, and James believes Clara won't die that easily. But if Valentina had urged him, all James needed to do was follow his wishes.

"The fog's starting to blacken. How did you get out of the woods alone? What to worry about is you!"

"But still! Don't you see your sister Rara as a woman?! Sometimes he feels desperate!"

James always gives an excuse, while Valentina also does not want to lose. As a younger man, it was somehow James who had to think maturely now.

But why did the fog change color like that? Is it because of magic?

"Yeah? Need help?"

James and Valentina stared at the origin of the voice. James felt de javu with this incident, because when he and his cousin had just entered the gates of Ranunculus, this man appeared as their savior.

"Good idea. Thank you, Prince Ranunculus."

James pushed Valentina closer to the Rovers. As a prince, his current look was like a vagrant. Even though it looks good.

After confirming that he was the original Rovers was not an enemy or anything like that. James ran through the black fog. To hell with what he saw, his intuition said he had to run which way.

After the death of James, Valentina felt a little relieved because James finally wanted to catch up with Clara. Valentina turned to Rovers for a moment.

"Is the Prince having any business here?"

"Hm? Well, someone asked me to look for you after you ran away." Rovers smiled stiffly, given how creepy Grand Duke Harold was when he found out Valentina was in Ranunculus but her nose stem was invisible.

"Thank you for helping us." Valentina smiled gently.

"He? It is my responsibility to protect my people. It is still a candidate. Let's go up, we have to leave this place." Take Rovers.

"The prince didn't ask where did James go?"

Rovers smiled faintly.

"He must be doing something important, right? Just hope that he'll come back."

"Oh, there's something I want to say." Valentina's tone began to turn serious, as did the way she looked at Rovers.

"What's that?"

"Duke Wayne was killed in a fight with the King of Freesia."

"?!"

...****...

James continued to step his feet to enter the forest deeper. Now his clothes have been torn because of scratched twigs and stones. But what he cares about, he must find Clara and take her out of the forest.

"It sucks."

"Sister Rara!"

James's gaze swept around him. Although dominant in black and dark, faint - faint he was still able to capture the silhouette of trees and shrubs. He hopes Clara can be found soon. Not because he was afraid, James only felt awkward and depressed with the strange aura that the black fog produced.

"I'M NOT A RARA!"

BRUK SRET!

James stumbled over something and fell down. He can't be upset because what's wrong is that he's alone because he's not focused. James changed his position to sit, he felt his wounds throb. It hurts because it leaves deep marks.

"Ugh..."

Heh?!

James was surprised not to play when he heard someone's moaning. It was a woman. He just wished it wasn't a ghost or a guardian of this forest.

After a long silence, James regained his senses and could now see more clearly what made him stumble. An old man in Hortensia imperial clothes.

"Eh? How could the Hortensian nobility be in the interior of Ranunculus...?"

James continued to look around him, if there was a clue that could make him understand this situation. It was impossible for the nobles from the Western region to suddenly be here with a miserable look.

DEG

"Sister Rara..."

Seeing the familiar figure lying not far from the Hortensia nobleman, James immediately ran towards him quickly.

"Sister Rara! Brother Rara!" Call James out loud.

But unfortunately, Clara did not show any movement even though James' voice was so disturbing hearing. Even the Hortensian nobleman was moaning slowly and slowly his consciousness returned.

"He's already human... Rara also needs to wake up soon! Brother Rara please listen to me!" Shouted James again.

"...James...?"

"uh? Brother Rara! It's me..."

James almost cried because he heard Clara's voice even though it was very small as if he was whispering. James took Clara's head into his lap and took the water-filled sac he was carrying from Agapanthus.

James gasped softly as Clara's trembling hand touched his face. He himself was quite shocked and suddenly stiff, even the bag of water was now hanging in the air.

"Mirje..."

Huh uh? Mirye's? Who'sis that?

After that, Clara even dissolved in her own sobs. Forgetting that the person who was hugging him was James, not the younger brother he was delirious about.

"But don't hate Brother, okay?"

James was still not struggling, the words just now had a bit in his heart when Clara said it while crying. If Clara calls herself sister, it means Mirye is her sister.

Clara's fingers, gently moving fingers rubbed James' cheeks. Surely James was more surprised, he was still unconscious and now Clara's hand could not be conditioned.

"Don't leave my sister, either. You do not want to be alone in this world, a world that you are not in. I want to come back to you, Mirye..."

Sentence after sentence that came out of his lips made James speechless. Bizarrely. What world does Clara mean? So this is a different world from the one his sister occupied or what? James has less grasped its every meaning.

All James could understand now was Clara's remorse for leaving her sister alone somewhere. The thing that would make her sister probably hate her, therefore Clara kept begging and pleading.

James cupped Clara's left hand against her face, she held it tightly despite knowing the owner was very fragile at the moment. But seeing Clara crying and begging not to be hated made her think she had to do something.

"Don't worry, Rara. I'm not gonna hate you, let alone leave you..."

Clara's expression turned happy, although her face color remained pale. The girl carved out a thin smile and slowly closed her two eyes back. Even so, James did not intend to release his hand on Clara's hand that was still attached to his face.

...****...

Clara's eyelids that continue to be closed are now starting to open slowly - land. The girl blankly looked around for the sake of finding herself who was in the black fog.

Duke Nielsen?!

Surprised, Clara suddenly sat down and looked around where Duke Nielsen lay after she had absorbed the black magic within her. Clara heaved a sigh of relief when Duke Nielsen was still beside her.

Not awake yet?

"Away awake?"

At that moment, Clara realized there was another figure with them. Clara almost kicked the guy if she didn't hold him. The presence of another figure after waking up from fainting was the worst, Clara had to be suspicious of him.

"Come on, Rara. You forgot your own sister?"

The acre? James, huh?

"Sorry James. I didn't know it was you, the fog was too thick." Clara rubbed her non-itchy nape.

James smiled in response. Honestly, the visibility is not too good and clear so he often misses a lot of things because it is not so visible. Maybe he was being overwritten by luck while looking for Clara.

"Wanna drink first?"

"Yes." Yeah."

I don't want to get dehydrated.

Clara took a water bag from James' hand. Opening the lid then gulping down the contents. Clara was somewhat astonished, James was a little more reserved than usual today.

"Sister Rara."

"Hm? Da? Why?"

"Who is Mirye?"

He's? Did I say anything strange when I lost consciousness?

Clara kept a water bag beside her. He started to play his fingers. Clara is still confused about whether or not to tell James about Mirye.

"Mirye is my sister. The only family I have. So, the kid's precious to me."

After a long time of deciding, Clara chose to tell him. No one knows Mirye's identity after all. Because they live in a different world.

"So she's your real sister, yeah..."

James looked glum, he lowered his head. Trying to hide a sad and disappointed face that was printed clearly. Yet a skinny hand reached the top of his head and began to rub it gently.

James hates this warmth. At first he thought Clara did not have a sister because she insisted on calling him a sister. He feels like a betrayed party right now.

"Stop being nice to everyone..." Mumbled.

"Hm?"

James slammed Clara's hand hard enough that the girl grimaced softly. Clara looked at him confused, but James was getting more and more irate now.

"Why James?" Clara asked worriedly.

"I told you to stop being nice! I don't like that at all. I hate you! You're not my brother, but why don't you tell me from the beginning you had a younger sibling..."

Seeing James who looked desperate, made Clara go awry. Maybe he didn't have to tell her about Mirye.

"You are my treasure."

"Huh?"

James gasps. His head hit something soft. Part of his vision was covered by Clara's snow-white mane. James growled with annoyance, this warm feeling too comfortable to waste.

James fingers flanking Clara's dress. Really, in his heart he did not dare to embrace his own opposite sex at this teenage age. It felt a little different when Valentina did it when they were kids.

"But, Rara's sister is my sister."
