"He'll be back. Sure." Hendrick.
The man in the white robe only smelled his smile. Trust is a rare thing. Moreover, it came out of the mouth of a Hendrick who basically thought Frederick was a lousy person.
"Oh? Do you believe in your father in such a way?"
"of course. He's my father."
Hendrick said it again. This time with a very strong tone. Maybe if the old man heard him say this, Hendrick would be ashamed for the rest of his life.
"Don't you always think he's a bad guy?" The man asked again.
Hendrick smiled obliquely, "I told you he's a lousy and annoying person. But I never once said he was a bad parent."
The man was stunned. Likewise with the other three people who were inside the hall. Hearing Hendrick defend his father, this was a huge phenomenon.
Count frowning. His relationship with the Saw was never as bad as Frederick and Hendrick. Although of course, they have debated because of disagreements. But the Wayne family has a background complicated enough to affect the closeness of each member.
Just this time Hendrick said candidly about what he felt about his father.
Silence enveloped the large room. Hendrick's gaze caught a small object that seemed to descend from above, landing right on his left shoulder. Hendrick picked up the object and was surprised to see it.
"Can this chrysanthemum be used as a sign of death?"
Hendrick stared flatly at his father who was holding a white chrysanthemum flower.
"If it's pink or purple chrysanthemum then you can use it. But if the chrysanthemum is white.. Are you joking at me? The language of flowers is very different."
"What does white chrysanthemum mean?"
"Honesty and loyalty." Answer Hendrick as he is. "But there is one other meaning besides being honest and faithful."
"What's that?"
"Ck! Have you never learned it from your teacher before?" Hendrick was upset. Frederick remained faithful to his son's answer. Hendrick snorted, "The flower is the epitome of sadness..."
Iris Hendrick was perfectly rounded, he stepped back without realizing it. But Rovers and others are aware of that. Hendrick retreated slowly, turned his body around and suddenly ran out of the hall. Rovers was surprised, his feet following Hendrick's footsteps immediately.
"Woi... What's wrong with those two?" Ask Count Cheltics to himself.
The white-robed man further widened his smile. "Perhaps, someone has realized something."
PRANK
Count Cheltics' gaze became bewildered when he saw the large window in the hall being smashed just like that and smashed into pieces. Among them darted a spear with pointed eyes that approached him. Count Cheltics drew his sword and cut the hilt of the spear in just one slash.
"We're off guard. Their reinforcements have arrived. Surely what they're doing now isn't just blocking the entrance and exit of Ranunculus." Said the King sharply.
The king looked at the Count Cheltics who was still holding his sword. "Count Cheltics, meet Grand Duke Harold immediately and tell him to form an A formation on the soldiers. Time out as long as possible."
Count Cheltics nodded and immediately ran away from the hall. Now only the King and the mysterious white-robed man remain inside. The king breathed a tired breath, in his year of office he did not expect this to happen.
The king looked at the white-robed man. "And for you sir, what are you going to do? Don't stay here too long because I don't know when this palace will be demolished. So, get out of here."
Without paying it any more attention, the King ran towards the training room. He was grateful to be able to send his wife to Wayne's residence and take refuge there. At least, the King hoped that Freesia and Vinca would only surround the palace.
The man in the white robe was still unmoved. He did not care about the scattered glass fragments and the white floor that was now filled with soil due to some minor shocks from the enemy, they were really serious about flattening this country.
"This is not your fault, nor anyone involved. But why risk their lives for what they did not do? It's so scary."
...❀...
"Hey, are you deaf? I said stop!" Rovers shouted like crazy at Hendrick who kept running towards the palace exit.
Rovers' pace also slowed when Hendrick suddenly stopped running and stared blankly out there. Rovers gazed out of the palace to discover what unfolded Hendrick's focus.
How surprising it was for Rovers to see a large number of warriors with shields having vinca flower emblems on their armor. Some of them were soldiers armed with freesia emblems in their armor. They were all wary of the slightest movement.
"It seems that the ruler of Freesia was not successfully killed by the two of them..." Lirih Hendrick's.
Rovers took a small glance at him, could be caught face complicated Hendrick now. Although Rovers is a person who is good at reading a person's mood just by looking at his face, but somehow the advantages are somewhat ineffective when faced with Hendrick.
"They're not dead, are they...?" Hendrick's voice weakened, his lips trembling violently.
When Hendrick threatened his father before they both left, the truth was that Hendrick was talking about not just for Clara but for her father as well. Stay alive, that was the message he wanted to pass on to those two people. But for Hendrick who hates the melancholic atmosphere, he can only continue to harbor everything.
I hate this me.
"They will live. Didn't you say it to the strange man yourself?" Rovers said a little soothing. But no doubt, he was feeling very agitated right now.
While he was in Agapanthus, Rovers met someone who was pure blood Vinca. They could chat casually as if they were not enemies. Rovers thinks if that person is now on which side, friend or foe?
Rovers. Likewise with Hendrick, the man squeezed the white chrysanthemum flowers in his hands. Perhaps true what he said, only time can answer everything.
...❀...
"Did? Valentina?"
James was surprised to see Valentina running towards him and Clara. The girl looked unkind - fine, her dress was shabby and even her bottom had been torn off by a wooden twig.
"Why here? Aren't you with the Crown Prince? You'll get hurt coming here!" Annoyed James.
As the person who brought Valentina here without permission from anyone, James was a bit worried that Valentina got a scuff. He's lazy to be held accountable, because what forced him to take him was Valentina herself.
Valentina did not seem to ponder the questions that James asked. His gaze instantly locked onto Clara, the girl now appeared extremely miserable. Spotted blood and wounds where - mana, even her beautiful face looked broken because her eyes were torn apart.
Valentina covered her half-blown mouth. It's scary for Valentina that if her finger is pricked by a needle just yells in fear, lucky she doesn't faint.
"Clara, are you okay?" Valentina asked in a heart-to-heart tone.
Clara smiled gently, her intact right eye narrowed. He nodded in response to Valentina's question. I don't know, his voice felt stuck so he was unable to say anything.
"He's badly hurt, you know! Anyway don't let you trouble me because I'm not a great swordsman who has a branched focus." Threaten James, even though he had felt relieved because Valentina with Rovers.
Valentina glanced at James sharply. Valentina was initially reluctant to join James because she knew it was dangerous and very risky to lose her life. But when Rovers was taken to the palace, Valentina who saw James into the forest also unconsciously followed him.
"I can take care of myself."
"In that case, I'll protect you both." Clara became the mediator.
James and Valentina looked at him. Clara who had been silent since then now raised her voice, the girl's voice was not too audible. It was like he was whispering.
"no need. Rara take care of Valentina."
Valentina snorted, she turned her body and walked the lead. But James was surprised because Valentina suddenly stopped his steps when they were out of the forest.
In the darkness of the night, James and Clara were able to capture the silhouette of someone riding a horse along with a large number of troops with various weapons.
The vinca flowers are printed clearly on their armour.
James choked, he pulled Valentina's wrist to hide behind a bush.
"Enemy reinforcements..."
Valentina looked like she was going through something, Clara knew why she could be like that. A very familiar figure was there, leading the Vinca army to besiege Ranunculus.
It was Edmond Southbayern.
