Eps. 05 - Lilian

“S-I just want to repay your kindness,” The girl replied in stammering.

“Following me doesn't reply to anything.” Short of Escal, his speech sounded flat and cold.

The girl shuddered in surprise, “B-Not so! M-Probably goods times A-you want to ask about the City of Viell, s-I am sure that I have a lot of information about this City even though it is incomplete.” He said nervously.

Escal raised one eyebrow and was silent for a moment then said, “Follow me.” Without explaining anything, Escal immediately walked ahead.

The girl immediately obeyed him and walked slowly behind Escal, tailing him. Escal went to a diner, and sat down at one of the empty tables.

Looking at the girl who was still standing Escal said, “What are you waiting for? Sit!” His order.

The girl was still a little astonished, but obeyed Escal's words and sat down on the chair facing her. Escal raised his right hand, called the waiter and ordered some food dishes.

After he finished, he looked back at the girl in front of him who was looking down and was playing his hand with a nervous expression.

“What's your name?” Escal opened the conversation, but his tone remained monotonous as usual.

The girl turned her head towards Escal, “L-Liliane.” Answer in a small voice.

“So what information can you give me, Liliane?”

“S-I will answer the thing you want to ask, as much as I can.” Liliane said steadily though her nervousness had not gone away.

Hearing Liliane's reply, Escal thought for a moment.

“Viell City Only, huh?” Escal asked, Liliane answered him immediately with a nod.

“M-Maybe if the information is general, I can still say it.” In response, Escal refuted his head lazily using the right hand he had on the table.

The index finger on his left hand tapped on the table quietly for a few moments. After thinking about it, Escal opened his mouth to say something.

“I warn you once again! If you really follow me, be prepared with a road full of blood and absolute orders that you cannot refuse. Understand?”

“Even if it means that, you have to kill someone!”

Escal reassured once again when the two finished eating. Liliane nodded with confidence.

Seeing this, Escal let out a long sigh and looked at the ceiling of the diner. For some reason, Escal felt like he was seeing a shadow of himself in the past.

Forced to choose the only way, even though he knew that the road he was going to take was dangerous and bloody. It is risky, but has no other choice. Almost the same as Liliane felt.

“After that, let's go and show you the way to the Royal Information Bureau that is here.” Escal stood up and was about to go to the cashier's table, Liliane also stood up to follow Escal.

But before reaching the cashier table, Escal suddenly stopped his steps which made Liliane surprised. In his heart he wondered, were there any items left behind?

Suddenly Escal said, “It's okay for you to follow me, but if one day you find something better on the way. Just tell me, right then and there I'll let you go.”

“But before that, you have to execute all my commands!” Escal said without turning his head, then continued his path without waiting for Liliane's response.

Not seeing Liliane behind him was so moved by his words, and inwardly he established himself to continue following Escal because according to him, he had made the right decision.

After that, the two went to the Royal Information Bureau of the Viell Branch, after Escal paid for the food and drinks he ordered.

With Liliane's direction, the two went to the Royal Information Bureau which was a large, sturdy two-story building. People used to refer to this place as BIK to make it shorter.

Many knights were assigned to guard the place, and patrol even though the place is common to visit anyone.

They take care of the problem of buying and selling land, houses, trading owned by the kingdom, information, advice, mission of the kingdom and some other things.

For this time, the information he got from Liliane was already enough for a while as he also intended to hoard strength first in order to live quietly in this World.

Therefore, Escal intended to buy or at least rent a house before he could buy it when he had raised enough money.

Escal did not choose lodging, because according to him the place made him not free to do something.

“Stay close to me,” Escal walked into the two-story Great Building, while Liliane followed behind.

Escal walked towards the empty reception, because in some other receptionist places had been filled by people who were also taking care of something.

“Welcome, can I help you?” A male receptionist greets Escal as he approaches his place, revealing his name on the right chest, Nick.

“I need a simple house that is sold, or at least rented for less than 50 Gold Coins.” Escal immediately said without further ado.
