Eps. 21 - Plans of Commanders
“I work alone.”
Escal's remarks really confirmed that he rejected Zhale's offer, without even thinking about it because Escal had his own plans if he participated in this mission.
“Do you want to think about it first?”
Zhale really did not expect Escal to answer him immediately with a stern rejection. He should have thought that at least Escal would think about it for a while before rejecting it.
“I already have my own plans.”
Escal still did not think about Zhale's offer, because honestly he actually had his own plans to cooperate with the Royal Party in order to reap more profits.
“You sure?”
“A hundred percent.”
“Alright, if so there is nothing we need to talk about again.”
Zhale got up, he gave up on getting Escal to work together. But he hasn't given up on Escal himself, because he feels interested.
“This may not be our last meeting, so see you.”
Zhale waved his hand and left, disappearing among the crowd of people who were jostling because the meeting was over. They hurriedly came forward to get information or offer assistance to the Kingdom through the place.
“Junk.”
Escal muttered softly without anyone hearing him. He also got up to his feet, then walked towards Nick's receptionist.
“Can I see Commander Loyd now?”
Escal direct to the core of the conversation, “Sure. Please follow me,” Nick smiled professionally and began guiding Escal's path towards the inside of the Royal Information Bureau.
While in the distance was seen Zhale who was watching Escal since earlier, smiling faintly.
“It turns out he has an insider, it's worth it he refused my invitation.”
A burly and large man approached her from behind, “Is there anything, Zhale?”
Zhale turned his gaze to the man who was his friend from the very beginning of the two arriving, as it happened to appear in the same place.
Although he looks big and fierce like a bear, but he is a good man and not easily 'tempted' so Zhale considers him a friend.
Moreover, both of them had the same thought of opposing the system that brought them to Vixcell, Zhale and the man both became a Rebellion Star.
Zhale and the man were also taking advantage of people. More precisely like the 'brain and muscle' strategy to influence others.
Zhale was the brain for their activities, and the big man became a muscle because his strength was clearly greater than Zhale to control him so that people would not dare to mess around.
Luring someone, praising him, and giving hope while Zhale was actually stronger let alone guarded by a 'Bear Man' like that man.
“Barrey, what do you think that guy was?”
Zhale asked his opinion to the big man who asked him, Barrey Gulltom. Raising one eyebrow, Barrey then thought for a while.
“Maybe there are many advantages that can be obtained from him, but seeing you earlier who did not 'compete' him. he is dangerous.”.
“You're right, but I'm interested. Never mind, we'll just do the plan tonight.”
Zhale turned away ahead of Barrey who then followed him, “Ya.”
Once in front of a room that was Harold's private room, Nick politely knocked on the door three times.
“Who?” Harold's heavy voice sounded from within.
“Nickolas, Head of Bureau. Mr. Escal came to meet Commander Loyd.”
“Come.”
Nick immediately opened the door after being allowed by Harold. As soon as the door opened, the eyes of everyone who was there immediately fell on Escal and Nick. There's Harold and Loyd of course, and two other people he's never seen.
“I just drove you up here, please.”
Escal looked at Nick and nodded as a gesture of thanks. As soon as he stepped inside, Nick closed the door again and let Escal continue his path.
“Ah sorry Escal, I forgot to tell you if today does not come.” Loyd apologized sincerely.
Escal nodded, “It's okay, but next time please tell me first. Then I'll be back,” Escal slightly bowed and was about to turn around, but Loyd stopped him immediately.
“Wait, why are you in such a hurry Escal? Stop by for a while, we are discussing plans for the Rebels.” Loyd immediately said with a smile.
Hearing that, Escal immediately stopped because he felt interested. While the two people who seemed to also rank in the Royal Military were immediately shocked because Loyd was so open.
“Commander Loyd? Sorry, but what do you mean? It's secret royal information!” One of the ones who looked ferocious with the incision marks in his eyes immediately interrupted.
Loyd flicked his hand as a gesture, “It's okay Frank, he's my student for a month, Escal. Take it easy he's on our side, I can guarantee it.”
“Sit next to me, Escal.” Loyd patted the empty chair beside him.
Escal nodded in response and sat down next to Loyd with his cold expression unchanged. The man called Frank snorted softly, and crossed his hands.
“Isn't your meeting over, why are you still talking about the Rebels?” Escal said in his flat tone.
It was actually quite disrespectful, but Harold and Loyd who already knew Escal's habits remained ordinary.
But not so with Frank and a man next to him who also ranks as equals who looks more friendly than Frank, Julius. They were quite surprised by Escal's attitude which was like disrespecting them.
Frank is about to get angry, but Julius stops him immediately.
“You're so blatant huh, Escal? Though we are older than you and a Commander.” Julius said with a smile.
Escal also smiled faintly at Julius' words, without feeling fear or guilt.
“I will respect you if I know you are worthy of respect. Even if the King was in front of me, I would still be defiant if he was not a person worthy of respect.”
