Chapter 20 The First Hugs

Since Mina entered the school's temporary Cheerleading Team, the intensity of the meeting between her and Yungi has become quite frequent. It was because the team members were practicing on the sidelines of the basketball court or sometimes outside but still close to the basketball court where Yungi and his friends were practicing. And because of this too Yungi so often find Genta sitting on the sidelines waiting for Mina training while carrying a video capturing Mina moments of practice and finding the look of Mina's happy face when Genta give her spirit.

Subconsciously sometimes he saw their closeness with a sad gaze as if to regret a Mina even made up with a Genta. But it wasn't just him. Some of his basketball buddies even often say disrespectful things behind their backs or show disgust but not directly.

Nonetheless, it was only a short while as over time they became more ordinary, not accepting them to be a couple, instead, but give in to reality because it seems like the two do not care about anyone who looks at them disrespectfully or says something to those who do not like it.

Genta is now more open. He started talking to his friends, even inviting them to his birthday party. The event was not abal-abal, held in a ballroom hall of a magnificent five-star hotel. The rich are free. Genta's father was a well-known sports equipment supplier in Europe and Southeast Asia and his mother was the chairman of the Southeast Asian Economic organization and Genta was the sole heir to the asset. It can be understood if some friends at school think badly of Mina by gossiping that Mina wants to be with Genta because of her wealth. They don't know the real thing.

That afternoon Mina had just finished ice skating practice, he came out of the studio and was just about to walk towards the parking lot when a fat man wearing the same school uniform as him stood before him. Mina was a bit shocked due to her sudden appearance.

“Sorry, I'm not interested in boyfriends or marriage. I never thought about it, so sorry, I can't accept you,” Mina said politely. He clenched his hands together and kept them in his chest. The fat man named Genta came to his training studio to express his feelings. And he just had a rejection.

There are several reasons why Mina cannot accept her being her boyfriend, but body size and facial standards are not included in the list. Not many know about Mina's personal life because Mina never said anything and also rarely brought her friend to her house.

Mina was born and raised in a very unique family. His parents were dramatic in their affection and always demanded that their daughters be dedicated wives to their husbands, especially in terms of their biological needs. This thought was born from her grandmother, the mother of her mother who had been abandoned by her husband for cheating on her by reason that her grandmother could not satisfy her former grandfather in bed. Instead of thinking that her ex-grandfather was not a good person, her grandmother was obsessed with making her daughters into people who could satisfy her husband. Mina's grandmother taught all her children which of course included her mother how to get a man to bend his knees to her. And his teaching worked. At least his mother is living proof of his teachings. Then her mother taught her two daughters the same thing, Mina and Sesil. From childhood they have been taught how to behave as a woman should behave in front of men, how women should take care of themselves and more. Everything was to make the man within his grasp. Sesil, of course, likes it. He has even practiced it since Kindergarten, and this is different from Mina who considers all the teachings of her mother is unnatural and crazy, so instead of following her mother, ajara, Mina instead thought otherwise, she chose to be alone to death. He thought having many friends and being of benefit to others was much better for him than having someone he then had to painstakingly take care of.

Brug. The man knelt down on his knees.

“Min, please accept me to be your girlfriend at least until I die,” said Genta and he cried. Mina slips. He was very surprised by the man's words.

“What do you mean?” Mina was shocked. He asked Genta to stand up. Finally they chose a bench near the study to talk to.

Genta suffers from intestinal tumor. This has to do with her excess weight and she is detected to be alive only for the next six months. He wanted to have good memories while he was in Junior High living life like other teenage children. His busy parents never understood his heart. However, they obey Genta's desire to stay in school until it is finished.

“Where did you know me?” ask Mina

“And why should I? Gladys, Victoria, Jini, Fransiska, there are many sexier and prettier tablets in school!” Mina explained.

Genta smiles.

“Because only you live and love me the bread time at the school initiation event,” said Genta loudly.

“And from there I like you,” said Genta again with a flushed face.

Mina smiled.

“Ahahaha you're funny, Gen. Yes, okay deh.” Mina answered with a smile.

Then they start to create a scenario. Mina is about to approach Genta for the first time and that's how they ended up.

At Genta's birthday, Mina of course attended his show. He even became a guest of honor and Genta's parents were very fond of Mina because of her polite and friendly attitude. When the birthday is over, Genta apologizes to Mina for not being able to drive home because her parents made their own show. Mina was certainly not angry. He was very understanding and he decided to go home alone instead of contacting his father to pick him up.

He was walking on the sidewalk to a bus stop somewhat limping because his high heels had scuffed the back of his leg when a luxury car stopped not far from there. Yungi got out of the car and walked towards Mina.

“You're coming home ga?” Yungi immediately offered.

Mina was a bit surprised and she stopped her steps. Yungi walked up to him and pointed towards his feet.

“You're sick feet, right? I anter you go home,” said Yungi again.

“Eh, no need, I want to take the bus aja,” said Mina refused.

“Papa you ever anter me home right. So, I want to bales his kindness. Come!” Yungi said again.

“Ga ah, don't you!” Mina.

“You're stubborn yes! I won't say anything to you!” Yungi thought Mina was afraid of him because she had kissed him before.

Mina was silent for a moment.

“I want to go to the pharmacy first, want to buy medicine for my feet,” said Mina finally said the reason why do not want to be escorted home.

“In your home no medicine?” ask Yungi.

“Mama likes to nag. I don't like the horror,” said Mina slowly.

“Yes do not need to be heard,” says Yungi.

“Tsk!” Mina clucked in annoyance.

“Udahlah! You won't know either!” mumbling Mina. He continued his pace by limping past Yungi.

“Gosh! This is a bad girl!” muttered Yungi in an annoyed tone.

“Ya already! I anterin to the pharmacy.” said Yungi in a rather loud voice and quickly walked ahead of Mina then bowed in front of her. It made Mina shocked.

“You what?” ask Mina.

“Fine. I take you to the pharmacy,” said Yungi while turning his head and looking at Mina.

“Ih, ga ah!” mina answered and she backed off.

“Eh, you have! Want me to carry you bridal style?” Yungi stood up and was ready to carry.

“Eh don't!” Mina surprised.

“Well, right, that's why! Up!” sahut Yungi again while giving his back.

Mina had no choice. His feet are getting stiffer too. He puts his hands around Yungi's neck and Yungi carries him to his car.

“Eh where to take it?” Mina was shocked because her car passed through a pharmacy and did not stop.

“Ke pharmacy right?” ask Yungi to make sure.

“Iya, it's her pharmacy.” Mina pointed at her pharmacy.

“If to the pharmacy the car can not park, there is near here the car can park and close to the supermarket, so can buy water also.” Yungi.

“Oh, so!” Mina nodded her head.

The car entered a shopping area and stopped right in front of a fairly large pharmacy and the place looks very comfortable and clean. Yungi carried Mina to one of the chairs in front of the pharmacy and sat her there.

“Wait here! I bought the medicine,” said Yungi.

“Emang you know what I want to buy?” ask Mina.

“That's! Scuffed medicine right!” Yungi replied while looking at Mina.

“Iya but know the brand ga?” Mina looked back at Yungi in a somewhat irritated tone.

“Oh, you have preferences. Yes what is it called?” ask Yungi.

Mina mentioned her name and Yungi quickly entered the pharmacy and then after about 10 minutes came out again with all the drugs that Mina said.

Yungi. He took off Mina's shoes and began to treat the wound on Mina's leg. He washed it first with mineral water that he deliberately bought before buying drugs at the pharmacy.

“Aw!” Mina stomps her feet while grimacing. And accidentally his hand gripped Yungi's shoulder.

“Well, done!” yungi Sahut. He takes care of the drugs.

“Wait a minute ya!” yungi said as he ran quickly towards the car and returned with a pair of sandals in his hand.

“Nah, you just use this! let it hurt!” yungi Sahut. He squatted down and put the sandals alternately at Mina's feet.

“Agot greatness anyway! but it's better than nyeker, right?” Yungi laughed a little.

“Yes, thanks yes,” says Mina.

“Uhm,” said Yungi nodded.

“I anter home yes! This is too lazy because,” said Yungi.

“Iya, thanks.” Mina did not refuse.

Mina got off right in front of her house and after saying her thanks and got inside the house, the sound of the car drove away from her house.

“His girlfriend is suitable for Den Yungi,” said the driver suddenly commented. The driver knows very well the women who walk the same way Yungi usually itchy.

“Apaan, Sir, not my girlfriend!” Shocked by his own smile.

“Oh, that's Den! Like a good child is beautiful again. Suitable Den,” suhut driver again.

“Not have me, Sir. His handler who was his birthday,” said Yungi.

“Hah! Den Genta's girlfriend?” The driver knew Genta.

“Iya,” said Yungi.

“Oh what a pity!” comment from the driver.

And their conversation just stopped.

A few weeks after that, the, Yungi finds Mina's slippers in her locker accompanied by a thank-you note and the same cake she once spent behind the school building.

Yungi just smiled. After that, his interaction with Mina was better. At least they said hello and exchanged smiles. And that was until the inter-school basketball game was over as Mina's role as Emilia's replacement on the Cheerleading team was also completed.

Vee had offered Mina many times to join her team, but Mina turned it down as she also had to prepare for her ice skating match.

***

At the end of the first semester in the second grade a shocking news all over the school. Genta died during surgery in Japan. Only Mina knew what was really going on. When the news was announced at the school, Mina did not enter the school. He was involved in an ice skating competition and had a letter of dispensation from his school to attend the event. Of course everyone was sad to hear the news, but there were also those who were happy because it meant Mina broke up from Genta.

Yungi tidied up his things and locked the locker. He came out of the basketball locker room still wearing his basketball uniform.

“Where is Yun, in such a hurry! Won't change clothes first!” Justin asked.

“I have an appointment,” said Yungi while sharing a rancid smile.

“Who's Yun? A renata? Rachel's? Venny's? or Gladys?” ask Frans with a smile.

“There's!” yungi said as he blinked one eye and he came out quickly and rushed towards the roof of the school. The roof at their school is often used as a place to hang out for children during rest in addition to the back of the school building because there is a VVIP swimming pool and benches used for lunch or yes mojok that, especially at night.

Yungi had reached the roof of the school and walked to the left, and climbed up the stairs of the giant tank, towards where he had made a pact with Gladys. The plan was that day they wanted to watch a movie together but had a little bump on the roof of the school before the road to the cinema.

“Oh, he hasn't arrived!” Yungi spoke in a disappointed tone.

He sat leaning against the tank while taking out his HP and sent a message to Gladys. After a while the sound signifies the incoming message. It was Gladys and he said he couldn't come because his stomach was cramping.

“Tsk!” Yungi immediately clucked in annoyance.

He closed HP and charged. He was tidying up from his seat and was about to leave when he heard the sound of music playing the rhythm of ‘Beautiful in White’ played. Yungi flinched and he looked for the source of the sound, which he said was near the pool. And sure enough!

At the poolside, a girl wears a wedding-like dress with a flower in her hair while tuning the music and dancing in motion as if she were skating on ice. In front of him a handycam that seems to have been set before was recording him doing the dance movement. Yungi stood near one of the columns, hiding there watching him with his gaping mouth.

“Woah! Mina!” lirih Yungi as he watched the woman turn towards him dancing with a smile. Without realizing it he took out his own HP and recorded Mina dancing accompanied by music ‘Beautiful in White’ earlier.

The music stops with the dance. Mina turned off her handycam. He unpacked the tapes and undressed, which he found to be double with his school clothes and a flower on his head, and threw them all in the trash. After that, he also took some items from his bag and threw them into the trash drum, then set them on fire.

The fire burning big enough to make Yungi somewhat stunned especially Mina bowed to the garbage drum and said something that she could not hear clearly because of the distance that although very close Mina muttered more than speak.

Mina turned around and Yungi nodded. Mina crying. His face looks very sad. He was still in his position and watched Mina who was walking away from the fire as her crying voice grew louder and louder.

Brucks. Mina dropped herself and she covered her face with both hands while crying as soon as she was not far from where Yungi stood.

“May you be happy, Genta. I've done all I can,” said Mina on the sidelines of her crying. This time Yungi could clearly hear what Mina said.

Mina still covered her face with both hands. Yungi took a deep breath. He walked up to Mina and squatted down.

“Hey,” shrewd Yungi and without a second thought directly hugged Mina. Mina surprised. He is rebellious but Yungi's energy is stronger.

“Ga nothing, cry aja!” lirih Yungi stroked Mina's back slowly and it made Mina's cry even louder than before.

“You ain't nothing?” ask Yungi. They walked next to the bus stop.

“Yes, ga nothing. Thanks ya!” suhut Mina while trying to smile.

“Your eyes are sambap, later asked by mom papa how?” ask Yungi.

“Ga nothing, I have a reason,” Mina said.

“I anter home huh?” Yungi.

“Ga. I'm fine, really! You're not going with Gladys?” ask Mina.

“Eh? How do you know?” Yungi.

“Gladys just stopped by the bentar house. He told me, he said he wanted to go with you. Watch right?” Mina smiled.

“Iya, but Gladys batalin said stomach cramps,” said Yungi.

“Oh. her first day. It's not mojok dong! Ouch!” Mina grin.

Yungi is grinning.

“I'm home! Thanks ya!” Mina said again pointing to the bus that was almost at the stop.

“Uhm,” says Yungi.

“Spirit Min!” yungi Sahut. Mina nodded with a smile.

He's riding the bus. He looked at Yungi who was standing at the bus stop holding a basketball bag leaning on his shoulder and waved his hand with a smile and thanked him. Yungi nodded while waving his hand.
