Chapter 1 Circle 7

Chapter 1 Circle 7

Mina sat on the bedside. Her body is still wrapped in bridal clothes equipped with jewelry that emphasizes her beauty. The makeup though simple looks so fitting and appropriate that her face looks very sweet and charming.

He let out a long sigh, feeling relieved that his wedding reception was over a few hours ago. He lowered his head so that his eyes automatically caught sight of the ring ring on the ring finger of his right hand.

Although somewhat loose, the diamond ring looks perfectly matched in its tapered fingers. He smiled, laughing at the fate of his life that was beyond his power. This morning he was one of the wedding organizers of Yungi and Soraya. He even accompanied Yungi's youngest child, Yuna, who was about to turn five, preparing her to be the bride's delivery boy. It was the second marriage of Yungi, one of Mina's best friends since they were still in Junior High.

***

Mina, Yungi, Jay, Justin, Vee, Jini, and Jun have been friends since Junior High. They are not just schoolmates, but hang out and live too. Starting from they are geeky until they become like now, mature and can rely on each other. More or less that is what makes them friends live, the type of friends that continue to be maintained almost during the 20 years they are acquainted.

Their life journey is different and they always have interesting things to talk about. Since almost all of them are always together and always hanging out in some of the same places, one of the owners of the cafe they get together calls them “Circle 7”. From there, they also called their friendship group like that. They thought the name was pretty good and eccentric. It is always their title or label when holding any event.

Inside the circle, there were three women, Vee, Jini, and Mina, and the rest were all men. While in Junior High they were not one class, but because they often joined in several events and chat they connected with each other, eventually they became often walk and hang out together. In fact, while in college, even though their majors and universities were different, they still stayed together.

In their journey together, apparently there are two couples who love the location. They're Vee and Justin and Jini and Jun. Vee and Justin got married after college and moved to Finland as they were going to continue with S2. When they finished, they did not live there. They live in Hawaii and open a food business including opening restaurants and cafes there.

After Vee and Justin give up their singles, Jini and Jun get married and they move to Japan for school and decide to stay there. There Jun works for an import export company while Jini teaches Indonesian at a university in the city where they live.

Jay decided not to get married. Her parents had arranged for her with many women too often, but she refused. He went to America to continue his schooling at Harvard and finished his S3 degree. After that, he lived in Singapore and worked at a large law firm owned by the country. Among all, Jay does have the best achievements. He even jumped over S2, aka directly following the S1 program and then to S3.

Yungi is the same. He went to America to continue his studies in architecture and when he returned to Indonesia, he introduced a woman he was dating named Erika. They meet on campus in America at a music club they both follow to develop their interests.

Erika had already met the members of Circle 7 and of course they got along quite well in many ways. Yungi took off his stint after finishing S2. They returned to Indonesia after Erika gave birth to her first child, Arjuna. When they returned to Indonesia, they lived in a fairly elite housing and did not expect that their house would be opposite to Mina's house and they became neighbors.

Nonetheless, his feelings were not the same as those of Erika, his wife. He always felt lonely. The presence of Arjuna and Mina who became his friends did not treat his condition at all. Moreover, the affection of Mina and her husband, Awan, who often accidentally he pergoki make her more envious. Erika couldn't stand such a life. After she gives birth to her second child, Yuna, she sues Yungi for divorce and then goes nowhere. Yungi, of course, was disappointed and he was locked up and after a year of mourning, finally with the help and support of his friends, he got back up. He continued his life and work.

Meanwhile, her children are often guarded by Mina. This was the same as when he was at the bottom, Mina was the one guarding Arjuna and Yuna. Yungi's parents live in Australia and Yungi doesn't want to trouble them. So, he asked Mina for help to take care of his two children. After all, Arjuna and Zen, Mina's only child were very close. Their age is the same. They went to the same school and in the same class and it seems that they have the same hobbies.

Among all the friends inside Circle 7, Mina's life is considered the most classic. He received arranged marriages from his parents after he finished school in several countries; Italy, France, and Belgium in the culinary field with a concentration of patisserie. Her husband, Awan, is a subsidiary owner of a hospitality company and a business associate of Mina's parents who own a catering company. They married and continued their parents' business by also adding to the patisserie business.

When Zen was 5 years old, Awan died. She is one of the victims of a plane crash leaving Mina without a husband and Zen without a father. When that happened, all his friends came to Bandung and they strengthened Mina. Yungi who rarely go home are among them. It didn't take long for Mina to get back on her footing with one motivation in her life, that she had Zen depending on her.

That's how life goes on. One day during an online gathering with Circle 7 members, Yungi introduces a woman named Soraya. Everyone welcomed the woman with open arms. They are happy because Yungi finally want to open his heart again for women.

Even so, behind the scenes, there are many online chat-chats and one-on-one meetings between Circle 7 members, except Yungi of course. They all interrogate Mina as a friend whose house position is closest to Yungi's house.

Mina herself could not answer. It was also new to him. Even though their homes are close together, they have their own lives. Yungi is rarely at home because of his work and Mina is practically only close to the two Yungi children because of looking after and caring for them. People outside, such as at school or when they hang out in a foursome restaurant, for example always think that Arjuna or more familiarly called Juna and Yuna is the son of Mina besides Zen of course.

In addition, life is strange because Yungi and Mina are more like dogs and cats than friends. They have often clashed for minor affairs since they were in Junior High. Yungi considers Mina to be the most boring woman on earth.

Unlike Vee and Jini, Mina's appearance was very ordinary and simple. Her clothes were always covered so sometimes Yungi ridiculed her with a drab woman. When such ridicule was thrown from Yungi's mouth, Mina was just a manyun, not responding. This is also the same when Mina taunts Yungi as Playboy lizard stamp because Yungi is most often changing girlfriends, almost, every three months such as moving or employee experiments.

Then they were neighbors and now they are a couple. How can the story be like that. Blame fate or circumstances. The important thing is not to blame God. Actually, it's not funny that Mina said that she wanted to marry Yungi because Arjuna begged her. Even though that's exactly what happened.
