The atmosphere in the room became increasingly crowded. They decided to continue searching in that place for a while. If indeed the result is nil, then they are forced to start from the beginning without any information as a provision.
“Hopefully no more basement other than this.” Harwich continues to mutter the hope that became one of the keys to the success of his mission.
The other agents are still into every corner of the room that is so spacious accompanied by increasing despair. But they can't give up. Caught or failing to carry out a mission, whatever it is will remain the same. In the end they will feel hell for the umpteenth time.
While Harwich was searching through the piles, he found a lever hidden among the piles of garbage bags. The girl did not immediately pull the lever, it could have been a tool to activate the alarm or something like that.
“But did anyone use a lever to turn on the alarm?” The girl thought for a moment, weighing the choice between pulling the lever or not.
“Well, there's no time. We've been in this room long enough. Surely some floor in this place has already sent a signal. I'm sure soon there will be agents checking here.” Harwich breathed heavily. Finally he decided to pull the lever. Not long after that their footing trembled slightly. All pairs of eyes look for the origin of the cause of the vibration.
Harwich was very surprised by that. It was fortunate that the lever was not intended to turn on something that could endanger their existence, but the girl did not expect that the footing alias the floor in this room would experience vibrations.
“What are you doing?” Helwer asked in surprise, then walked over to Harwich in the corner of the room. The other agents just exchanged glances from a distance.
Not until Helwer approached Harwich, suddenly the floor that was not far from the bed opened like a hole, showing a ladder that led to a deeper place. They immediately looked at each other and nodded.
“Hope that thing we will find under there.” Helwer walked closer to the lip of the hole, looking at the stairs that were getting swallowed up by the darkness.
Helwer was the first to descend the stairs and was followed by another agent. Harwich would prefer to go in last. They turned on the flashlight again from the watch, illuminating the path so as not to set the wrong foot.
The stairs they passed were not long enough as before. Not until one minute they go down the stairs already looks basic. The room at the end of the stairs was not so big, but it was very thick with a sinister aura.
The walls of the room were filled with preserved statues of real animals, making the narrow room slightly have an unpleasant smell. Even so they did not comment anything.
As much as possible they have to save time before any agent checks the basement and they are caught off guard. If that happens, there will be no hope.
No matter how strong and shrewd they were in the fight, it was impossible to win with only ten people in the enemy lair. Moreover, the higher-ups of the Chjornaya organization have strengthened their bodies with experimental fluids.
“Spread and search carefully. Do not let anything be missed, especially places that are deliberately hidden.” Harwich gave the order and all the agents nodded their heads. The girl also searched to speed up the time.
“I found it!”
The voice of an agent managed to get all the attention on him in less than a second. Harwich also turned his head, looking at the man across the street.
The man held a scroll made of leather. Harwich deftly took the scroll and looked at the contents. At once his smile was depicted, signaling to the other agents that the scroll was one of their targets on the mission.
“Alright, what do we get?” Helwer walked over to Harwich. His eyes glanced at the leather paper and found a row of letters of fiber combined lines that most of him did not understand.
Anyone who saw the large inscription located at the top of the scroll would immediately know that it was a scroll that contained the weakness of Chjornaya's body-strengthening liquid.
“Good! The rest is just a roll about the liquid itself.” Helwer breathed a sigh of relief. Although they were returning to the headquarters now, they would at least avoid severe punishment.
“Well, there is no way that the experimental results scroll will be put in the shape of an ancient scroll like this, right? Maybe they don't have a printed version and only have digital data. If it is like that, then the best option is to withdraw and return to headquarters.” Androme gives a little view of their current situation.
He perfectly understood that a well-known and shrewd organization would not commit recklessness by leaving something very important away from scrutiny. Even he had assumed that the scrolls that had already been found at this time would be useless since the Chjornaya organization had a shield so that the contents of the scrolls would not work against them.
“I also thought so. But what are we going to tell that guy? Are we going to admit that we withdrew from the mission just because of assumptions without proof?” Dandelion enters the conversation. He asked Andromeda a question, hoping the agent would have a satisfactory answer.
“No. We just say that we can not find it anywhere because the information received is very different. We say that this mission can be resumed when the information has been updated.” Andromeda turned, looking at Dandelion coldly.
Not yet had they considered it, immediately the voice of the nanospeaker managed to disperse the conversation just like that.
[The situation here is the same. I was in a different room, but I can be sure that this place is guarded so tightly that no one can move.]
The sound of the nanospeaker made those who were currently in the basement panic instead of playing. Their location must be known. They locked up the new members so that no one could dwell so that the intruders could not join in. They already understand that.
“Sial! We'll be stuck if it doesn't come out soon.” Helwer biting the lower lip. He looked up while closing his eyes, hoping that his brain would turn smoothly at a time like this.
“We must remain calm. We have never been taught to panic in times of distress like now.” Harwich tried to melt the increasingly tense atmosphere.
They decided to get out of the narrow room first, not forgetting to pull the lever again so that the floor was closed. After that they rushed up the stairs to get to the surface, but unfortunately they were too late.
Right in front of the basement exit already stood two tall dashing men in front of them. Behind the two men stood a middle-aged man who was no stranger to them.
“Cavasandra Chaytton.” Harwich muttered softly. He subconsciously floated a threatening look at the middle-aged man. As a result, one of the two men standing in the doorway came to him and brought and threw the girl's body in front of Cavasandra.
None of the three men who had just met her thought that she was a girl. The skin mask he wore perfectly made him look like a man, plus a voice-changing device that also supported his disguise managed to make anyone who saw would think he was a man with a short body.
“What's with this kid?” Cavasandra crouched down, trying to stare at Harwich's face intently. His attention then turned to look at the other Harwich colleagues in turn, then stood back up as the original position.
“I've never seen you guys. Are you new members?” Cavasandra asked one simple question, but it managed to rack the brains of several agents who became interlocutors.
“True. We are new members. We just tried to look around the headquarters and unknowingly ended up in a place like this.” Andromeda became the one to answer questions from Cavasandra. He felt that if it took too long to let the silence float away, then his side would suffer a loss.
“Are you not informed of the ban on climbing the second floor?”
“No. We just know that we can't get into the third floor.” Andromeda replied smoothly without being stamped. Lucky because his head is hot right now.
Harwich remain in position. He did not try to stand up or anything like that and preferred not to change his body pose for a while.
“Alright, let's just say it's true.” Cavasandra walked over to Andromeda, staring directly into the eyes of the man who was shorter than him.
“But you've already seen this place. What should I do to you guys? Should I make you guys their family?”
Cavasandra turned to look at another agent who was not far from Andromeda. They deliberately put on a face of fear to look like a new member who is afraid of threats from a superior.
Silent for a while. Their breaths grew increasingly irregular, trying to make the middle-aged man convinced that they were a bunch of new members.
“All right forget! I'll forgive you if I promise to keep what you're seeing right now a secret. After all, you must have thought that there would be something like this inside the headquarters, right? You guys join too because you want to get that body booster liquid.”
“Can I ask something?” The hoarse voice from behind Cavasandra managed to make the man turn to the origin of the voice that was none other than that of the short man who was still not standing from his place.
Cavasandra raised an eyebrow, gesturing to Harwich that he was allowed to speak his question. Things like this are something new for Cavasandra, because so far no new members have asked him about anything.
“What we will also end up like them?”
The question made the two men escorting Cavasandra almost kick her, but Cavasandra raised her hand to stop the action they wanted to do.
“The answer is yes and no. If you show that your values are expensive, then you will be part of the organization. Then if only you are only worth with garbage, then you will be recycled to be useful.” Cavasandra paints a faint smile at the end of the sentence.
After that he walked away leaving them just like that with his two bodyguards. They heaved a sigh of relief when they saw that Cavasandra had completely disappeared.
Without wasting any more time, they immediately ran towards the surface, then slowly devised a plan regarding the perfect time to sneak outside the enemy headquarters and return to the main headquarters. That way, their mission ended at least not empty-handed.
