The room was silent for a moment. Arsiel and Arland could only freeze hearing that absurdly sound sentence.
"What does this mean? You know I just got into High School and I'm still a minor to discuss that sort of thing!" Arsiel snaps. He could not accept a unilateral decision from his parents.
"Forget about it. You don't need school anymore. Our family life would be better if you were with the chosen ones father and mother."
"What's the max of 'our family's life' going to get better? Nothing is better than my life! You just use that excuse to make your own life more comfortable, but not with mine! I'm sick of it!"
"So your mouth!"
Suddenly a slap landed on Arsiel's cheek. The slap was so hard that it made Arsiel's cheeks flushed, but the girl did not feel any pain.
Even so, the expression currently plastered on Arsiel's face made Arland hold his breath. Just this time he saw a look of fear that lay in the poor girl's eyes.
"That's enough!" Unknowingly Arland's hand restrained the middle-aged man's wrist who wanted to launch a punch at Arsiel. Arland doesn't know what's going on in this family. But Arland knows one thing, which is about the fact that Arsiel does not feel happy with his family.
"What the fuck is this boy?!" Arsiel's father brushed off Arland's hand violently. His gaze managed to make Arland a little depressed, but Arland instead gave the same look to the middle-aged man before him.
"Enough to get here. Arsiel won't, so don't force him."
"Arciel? Who do you mean by Arsiel?" Arsiel's father scrunched his forehead. He did not know anyone by the name of Arsiel.
Arland's eyes widened. He forgot that the name 'Arsiel Charsa' was not the girl's real name. Arland cleared his throat slowly trying to remember Arsiel's real name that he had heard when he accidentally peeked behind a pillar. After successfully remembering his name Arland immediately wanted to correct his speech. However, that voice was preceded by the middle-aged lung man who was currently on a blackboard.
"Huh! This rancid boy dared to answer me? Is that maybe because of you? You made my son a dissident, huh?!"
Arsiel's father pulled the collar of Arland's shirt, making Arland's body lift a few inches. Arsiel who saw it immediately spontaneously pulled Arland's body away. Arland can briefly see the reflection of light in the corner of Arsiel's eye.
'Whatever his identity is, he's still a teenager.' Arland muttered in his heart. He realized that Arsiel was painstakingly trying to hold back the tears in his eyes from dripping.
"I don't care about the school's stupid rules! Starting tonight, you will stay home. I'm gonna have someone else transport your stuff to the dorm."
"Why don't you ever listen to my complaints?!" Arsiel took a deep breath. He was getting more and more difficult to control his facial expression. Arland could only be silent seeing that. He has no right to interfere more deeply.
"What's this about? Why was the living room so noisy from earlier?" An old woman came out from one of the rooms connected to the living room.
"Mother!" Arsiel's father was a little surprised when he heard a familiar voice in his ears.
"Damn it! Not even the old grandma calls me her granddaughter." Arsiel chuckled softly. Hearing that from his daughter's mouth made Arsiel's father board the apoplexy.
"Basic child does not know it is lucky!" The man pulled Arsiel's body violently. His hand quickly hit Arsiel ferociously. Arsiel could have dodged the blow easily and counterattacked, but his body was unwilling to move as he pleased.
Arland was stunned to see the events unfolding in front of him. He wanted to help, but somehow something was holding him back.
"You dare to be insolent because it's been a long time since I didn't teach you a lesson properly!" The man kept hitting Arsiel's body mercilessly. However, Arsiel did not make any sound.
The pain from his father's punch could not compare to the pain that the girl received during the agent training period at the main headquarters. But his facial water could not hide the depressed feeling he received.
"Damn!" Arland growled, his hands quickly pulling Arsiel's body, clutching the girl tightly in his arms. Arsiel was stunned for a while. Arland's actions were beyond belief.
"Don't interfere! Give me the girl and get the fuck out of my house!" The man rebuked. His eyes looked at the wrath with a face that started to turn red.
"Who is he?" The old woman who had just been silent started to open her voice. He walked slowly to the floor, trying to stare at Arland up close.
"Who I am or my identity doesn't matter. I can't stand your attitude anymore, especially with you, sir." Arland raised his face, looking straight at Arsiel's father's eyes.
"At the beginning of the conversation you called her 'my daughter', but some time ago you called her 'the girl'. It's obvious that you don't think of West as a child."
Hearing that remark made Arsiel's father rise in blood. The man had already clenched his hands tightly, preparing to throw a fist whenever he wanted.
"I'll take him away either with or without your permission."
BUGH!!
Right after Arland finished his speech, a punch landed on his nose, sending a little fresh blood pouring from one of his nostrils.
Without a word, Arland carried Arsiel's body, carrying the girl out of the room that felt very stuffy for her. Arsiel was shocked. He realized that he had just shown a weak side in the presence of the man who was dividing him at this moment.
"Don't say anything. I'll take you away by force and I don't accept rejection."
The sentence managed to undo Arsiel's intention to prevent Arland.
'Maybe this is the best.'
