They return at the starting point of the meeting, which is at the intersection of the first stairs. Harwich had to go there to pick them up. The equipment that is carried at this time there are no features like GPS or anything like that. That's why Harwich himself had to pick them up there.
It is a bit time consuming to return to the starting place as each of them is already quite far away from there. Harwich did not cross paths with any of the men from Andromeda and Dandelion during the journey.
Harwich continued to run up the stairs after the stairs. The sound of the pounding of his shoes resounded in the narrow passageway that only fit by one staircase. When the girl was almost there, she saw five people already standing there waiting for her arrival.
“What's calling us, Agent A-09?” Dandelion was the first to ask him to represent another agent.
“I've found the basement.”
The answer from Harwich made other agents shocked and happy. They were able to find the place faster than expected.
“Very good. Though I was desperate because I could not find the right ladder to go to the third floor, but who would have thought it turned out Agent A-09 can find it.” Helwer was satisfied making a smile painted on his face. It was obvious that among the other agents, he was the one who was most pleased to hear the news.
“No need to waste any more time. I'm sure you'll be surprised after arriving at that place.” Harwich looked at them one by one with a slightly overjoyed look, recalling the scene he had seen in the basement a few minutes ago.
Harwich took the lead, followed by another agent trailing behind him. Soon their mission will be completed with satisfactory results.
No need to take too long. For seven minutes down the stairs following Harwich, they finally arrived in the basement. All pairs of eyes widened, as if they could not believe what their vision was capturing.
“This is crazy! Are they still alive?” Dandelion asked in astonishment. He stared at his surroundings with a feeling that slightly made him shudder in horror. Other agents feel the same way.
“Really, why is that what you are asking? You should ask whether the higher-ups in this organization can still be called human or not.” subconsciously Helwer rubbed his face rough. A moment was implied in his mind about the thought that the Chjornaya organization should be obliterated as it could become a very troublesome enemy in the future.
“Put aside useless thoughts and questions. For now we focus on completing the mission because it is our priorotas in this place.”
The words uttered by Andromeda managed to disperse all their daydreams. Now the entire agency is focusing on looking for something that is the target of the mission this time.
The basement they saw was filled with giant tubes. The tube was filled with liquid with at least two human bodies floating in it and also paired with various tools that were affixed throughout their bodies.
The room was only illuminated by the light of a dim light, probably because it was not in use. The liquid in the tube emits a greenish glow, so that the room is slightly green due to light reflection.
When Harwich was looking for a hidden ‘gulungan’, the girl accidentally found a figure of a naked man. The man's mouth was crammed with at least 3 large hoses, making his mouth gaping wide until it looked almost broken. His neck was also enlarged as a result of a tube passing through the throat.
Although the man's body was completely submerged in liquid, Harwich was able to see ‘tears’ that could not be captured by the eyes.
“Truly human-shaped devil.” Harwich muttered softly, then broke his daydream and refocused on finding the target. But then his attention was again stolen by a body lying in bed in a terrible state. Beside the bed was a slightly larger nightstand.
Harwich approached the spot, crouching right in front of the nightstand. There were about three drawers locked, and his mind assumed that it was likely that the scroll was in one of these drawers.
During the training period, such a thing is a fundamental lesson that must be mastered by prospective agents. Although in modern times it will definitely use more sophisticated locks, but there are times when such capabilities will still be useful and necessary. That's why prospective agents are still taught this as a basis.
Harwich had a little trouble opening the lock, but he remained persistent in trying until finally the click sounded slow. Harwich's hand quickly pulled the drawer to reveal the contents inside. After searching one of the drawers, Harwich found nothing he was looking for.
The girl then switched to the second drawer and again there was nothing. The last drawer became his hope because the other agents also still had not found the scroll. The last drawer is the hardest to open. It took him more than five minutes to open it. Unfortunately when the drawer opened he didn't get anything.
Harwich felt frustrated because of that, but suddenly he went back to check the second drawer. He looked carefully at the bottom of the drawer, tearing it up like he was making sure of something.
His hand slightly pressed one corner on the bottom of the drawer, then the other side of the opposite became slightly raised. The girl smiled meaningfully seeing that there was still an additional place in the drawer.
“It is fitting that I feel this drawer looks shallower than the other drawer.” Harwich sighed softly, raising both eyebrows while lifting the thin board that had previously been the base of the drawer.
There was a paper rolled up with a shabby appearance. Harwich quickly unrolled to ensure that it was the target of his mission.
But the Chjornaya organization was never careless. They will not put anything of value without a high level of security like in an extra room in a nightstand drawer or something like that.
“SIALL!!” Harwich slams the paper when he learns that its contents are not what he was looking for. Harwich then turned his eyes to his other colleague. It was obvious that they were also trying hard to find the same thing.
“Is it possible that the scroll has been moved?” Harwich bit his lower lip. Though he and his colleagues have come this far, but instead did not produce anything satisfactory.
“Do you guys get any leads or anything?” Harwich shouted, making all the attention turn to him.
“Unfortunately I did not find anything.” Andromeda replied in an annoyed tone.
“I am also so.” Helwer chimed in. The other agent replied with a nod.
That makes the atmosphere thick. If it continued like this, they could be caught by the agency of the Chjornaya organization before they could even find the target.
“Should we go to the third floor? But the information we get says that the scroll is in this place, right? Why is it that now the agent in charge of searching for information is so incompetent? How much information has gone wrong so far?” Helwer blabbed as he began to feel being played with by useless information.
“How now?” Dandelion stared at his companion in turn, hoping that one of them could give wise advice or input.
“After a fruitless inspection. I'm not sure this is the basement in question. Maybe the information we receive is information before the arrangement of this building underwent a remodel. This may not be the basement in question. Surely the basement is currently divided into several more parts.” Harwich spoke his thoughts out loud. All the agents were immediately.
“Shoppers!”
