Zeeta and the Wizarding World
The Mysterious Barghest

One day after Morgan told Scarlet about Barghest's past, the seventeen-year-old red-haired girl was going about her normal daily life, as a Princess. Only, his face always described his current feelings, namely worry. Therefore, his best friend who was both acting as the daughter of the Grand Duke, was looking at him in a mute.

Today both have important events as graduates of Dormant Academy, as well as as a mirror and inspiration for students to be able to become worthy nobles for the country. The existence of the two girls in this country, became a "morning sun" for the community, because their contribution always managed to captivate the heart and eyes. Be it to protect the kingdom by destroying Hollows and so forth, as well as other activities around helping the people, even though it is a small thing like helping elderly people cross the road though.

But today, unlike usual a daughter of the General who was admired by many people found the ever fiery Princess next to her worried. Fortunately, they had not yet gone up on stage to give him a single or two motivations.

"What's messing with you, Scarlet?" ask Ashley, "did you still worry about Barghest from last night?"

Scarlet glanced at Ashley for a moment, then her eyes moved to look at the sky. "Morgan told me a few things about him, but that's not good news at all."

Ashley paused for a moment, trying to understand the meaning of the sentence. "Oh," he said with a small smile, "something I don't know, yes."

"Sorry."

"Don't tell me that. Instead of apologizing, don't show that face in front of our underclassmen.

"I know you're not the kind of person who puts image first, but you'll make your people worry if you don't get better."

"Uhm. I-i know. Thank you." Thank you." Scarlet smiled.

......................

[While it was in the jungle.].

Barghest was eating his stag meat by burning it on a bonfire. He does not care if the smoke is a sign of Man's life in the middle of the forest, for no Man can approach him.

In the midst of enjoying the food that did not have a delicious taste, an owl perched on his shoulder.

"Maisie, huh?" ask Barghest.

"Kuu, kuu!"

"Don't tempt me. I told you I don't understand animal language. Show the real you if you want to talk."

Maisie changed to her "human" mode. "You don't joke either. I know what you're capable of, Barghest. You just don't want to admit it, do you?"

Barghest jerks. "Whispering. You're making me reluctant to eat again." Barghest threw the skewered meat in a piece of wood. "What made you bother to see me? It's been since that day you kept your distance from me."

"Hey. That sounds like I abandoned you. You know I'm the Forest Guard, right? I'm always watching you even if you're not around."

Barghest looked at Maisie. "Let me guess. The reason you're meeting me in person is .. You want me to CLEAN up the black creature that's already starting to disturb the forest, right?"

"Not only a forest, but also a kingdom."

"Kingdom? Hmph. I don't want to."

Maisie understood why the man refused. But....

"Listen. I didn't mean to force you, but I finally knew the root cause you could be who you are today."

Maisie's words invited the attention of Barghest's ears and eyes. "You want to say I have something to do with the kingdom that wants to be attacked?"

"Not entirely right, but not wrong."

Barghest. "What do you mean?"

"Follow me. We're going to visit a hidden land that's really close to you, but you've never seen it."

Although in a state of wonder, Barghest still follow Maisie in the form of a owl.

......................

Maisie takes Barghest to Grandtopia. There, they did not mince words to a single Elf there. The Elves had been ordered by Hugo to let their guests face to face with him a, for the matter that Maisie had told Barghest. After meeting, Hugo immediately invited them to his residence.

"It's the first time we've met" said Hugo, "but we're both aware of our limits and I appreciate it. Before you begin, let me, the Elder of the Elves, Hugo, thank you, Barghest."

"I don't quite understand why I deserve that remark, but your gazes at me whenever we meet, have given me enough clues about your hatred of Humans.

"I understand. I feel it too, though it's not as deep as you."

"Then let's get into the language." Hugo was getting serious. "All of us in this room know that twenty years ago, you were a baby abandoned to the forest and its inhabitants raised you.

"Grandtopia has a unique ability tree that only one of the Elves can control. This tree is called Chronos. The great trees scattered outside and in the forest, that is Chronos. No Human can destroy it even though they are VERY powerful in their magic.

"This tree is able to know the time, either forward or back. And among the Elves, only I can see it. We're not going to talk about why only I can see it, but we're going to talk about why the origins of you are only known after twenty years.

"I know you don't want to remember this, but the events of the full moon night when you were twelve, became the initial spark for Chronos to see your history, and whether it was fate or not, the black figure that you, Maisie, and the Elves saw, had something to do with you."

Barghest is getting dizzy. "Forward. Even though I was a little scared, I wanted to find out for a long time! I want to know who I really am and why I can be ... as cruel as that...."

"You are the son of a couple from the Gala kingdom. No, you're not a noble. You can be in this forest not to be abandoned, but to be killed."

"In-killed...?"

"In your body there is a curse of a Dragon. This dragon is not just any dragon. He had a very strong grudge on two particular breeds.

Barghest did not expect the truth he had just heard, he was also aware of the awkwardness of Hugo's speech. "Huh? You guys? What's that supposed?"

"I told you, the dragon cursed two descendants. That means, there are others whose fate is similar to yours."

"Is that person ... from Aurora or Gala?"

"No, he was from Southern Flare—a kingdom where the Dragon was killed."

"I don't understand...." Barghest crossed hands. "What is this breed that you call widespread? Why am I also the offspring?"

"I can't explain it, because it has to do with history that is very old, even thousands of years ago. I can't say that in words for a short time.

"The offspring I'm referring to only exists in three specific kingdoms. Aurora, Southern Flare, and Gala.

"I know you still have a lot of questions, but Chronos only sees that. In answer to that black figure, he is a Hollow created for your own emotions."

"Hollow...." Barghest looks lethargic. It's like he's upset about something.

'SWH!'

Maisie hit Barghest on the head.

"Ouch!" he said, "what are you doing all of a sudden?!"

"We also know that the Hollow is not comparable to what you used to beat! I'm not talking to you either to ask you ALONE to handle it. I know you're not confident in your abilities, because after you see them from a distance, you tremble in fear, don't you?"

Barghest sighed. "That's true...."

"God...." The dryad shook his head. "I also don't know if this is fate or not, you can still count on someone to help you, right?"

"Huh...? Wh who? You...?"

"Ahahaha don't joke! I would never have shown myself before Man if the end of the world had not yet appeared."

"Then who?"

"The girl who visited you yesterday. What's name?"

"Either. I don't care about names."

"Haahh~

"Help us, Barghest. We'll also help if you need anything. We are no longer strangers!"

"Aragh!" Barghest ruffled hair. "I know, I know! I didn't reject it either, did I!?

"Just .. I doubt it.

"I was afraid that it would happen again. I don't want to hurt anyone."

Maisie embraces Barghest. "Hey. I know some forest dwellers give you extreme nicknames, but that doesn't mean they hate you. I've been telling you about this for a long time."

"I KNOW THAT!" despite his intentions, Barghest screamed. "Sorry. I—"

"Barghest" said Hugo, "talk to the girl. The problem of a Man can only be solved by a Man. He will also help you more than you think."

"Why do you look so sure?"

"Hey. I've lived for hundreds of years. Don't doubt my policy, nor Maisie."

"Hm. Makes sense.... Alright. I'll see him right now! Thanks for all the information, Hugo, Maisie."

......................

[A few dozen minutes later.].

"Yeahhh...." Scarlet let out a long sigh, while the afternoon snack was in her hands. He had just bought a few skewers of barbeque sauce roasted from one of the stands in the market he was in now. "I can't get it out of my head at all!

"Morgan was .. he could have said something like that...."

Scarlet looked down lethargic.

"Ah, that's it!"

"Urghh!"

"What a coincidence, I want to see you!"

Scarlet was wide-eyed as she was suddenly rotated three hundred and sixty degrees by someone.

"Hi!"

Scarlet immediately blushed as red as a tomato. "W-ka-you...?! Why is it here?!" he screamed, no matter what he was in the crowd.
