The next day, they went to the airport and their flight that afternoon was on time. William soon fell asleep after spending his dinner on the plane. Miles covered his body with a blanket. Kirana who was sitting opposite him smiled at him. Their journey in the air will be very long but their obstetrician has convinced them that Kirana and her fetus will be fine.
Arriving at Heathrow Airport, Miles carried the sleepy William while pushing the trolley with his other hand. Kirana who was walking by his side looked uneasy. Miles stopped his steps. The woman did the same while looking at him in wonder. Miles smiled, lowered his body, then kissed his lips. Kirana immediately replied to him. The man distanced himself after he calmed down.
“Do not worry. Mom and Dad will like you. Trust.” Miles stroked his cheek. Kirana took a deep breath and nodded.
“I believe.” Kirana smiled.
Arriving at the arrival terminal exit, Miles saw his father and mother standing not far from the door. Miles approached them. Her father hugged her tightly, while her mother hugged Kirana. He smiled with satisfaction to see it. Kirana will finally believe how much her parents love her.
“Nak,” greet Shane. Miles patted his back slowly.
“Hi, Dad.” reply Miles. Shane loosened his embrace and looked towards William. The boy slept well and was unaware of what was happening nearby.
“Let me carry him. You must be tired.” Shane offered himself. Miles accepted the offer with pleasure.
“Trims, Dad.” Miles lets Shane take William out of his arms.
“You must be Kirana. My name is Amanda.” said her mother introduced herself.
“Iya. Pleased to meet you, Ms. Bradford.” greet Kirana nervously.
“Not be formal. You can call me Amanda.” Amanda let go of her embrace. “Never call me Mandy or Manda, okay? I hate nicknames.” He glanced at William as he turned towards Miles. “And that's William?” tanyakanya.
“Yes, Mom.” Miles replied. Amanda nodded and hugged her son tightly.
“Hai, Kirana.” Shane said while hugging Kirana. They were careful not to wake William. “Because Amanda asked you to call her by her name. I do too. Call me Shane.”
“Shane. Amanda.” says Kirana reluctantly. Miles smiled.
“You will get used to.” Miles rubbed Kirana's back.
“Yes, geez, Alastair. He looks a lot like you.” strangled Amanda. She looked at William, her husband, and then at Miles. “Newly this time I saw Bradford four people at once!”
“Four people Bradford?” kirana asked confusedly.
“My grandfather is alive.” Miles shrugged his shoulders.
“You didn't say before.” protest Kirana. Miles just smiled. It was unintentional. Everything between them happened so fast. He only remembered to share about his parents and not his other relatives.
“Come, we'll talk at home.” Shane walked first. They're following.
When they got to the car, Miles stuffed two of their suitcases into the trunk. As he closed the trunk door, William shouted to his papa. Miles smiles, raises his head, and sees Shane having trouble holding the rebellious William in his grandfather's arms. But his son doesn't know who it is.
“I'm here.” Miles walked closer. William turned his head.
“Daddy, Daddy!” william shouted loudly. His little hands stretched out to him, trying to grab his papa. He sobbed and looked around with a scared face. Miles carried her and stroked her back.
“Who are they, Dad?” isak William while looking at Shane and Amanda.
“Grandpa and Grandma. Remember that? We're here to meet them.” Miles reminded his son.
“Hai, William. I'm Amanda, your grandmother.” Amanda said cheerfully, then her eyes rounded. “Alastair, his eyes are as blue as you. Eyes are bright blue. You guys are really four Bradford!”
“Hai, Will. Sorry, it scares you.” said Shane regretted. The boy blinked before looking at Miles with round eyes.
“They talk like me, Dad.” William said astonished. They laugh together. It was rare for William to meet a person who spoke with an English accent while speaking the language. Miles was the first person he ever met using that accent. Kirana doesn't have it even though she's the one who taught her through the movies they watch.
“Of course. They're British.” Miles laughed amusedly. William nodded.
“Come. We have to go now.” take Shane.
Miles opens the door and lets Kirana in first. He sat William next to Kirana and got into the car. He closed the door beside him, William immediately asked to be placed in his lap again.
“Will, sit. Dad tired.” says Kirana. William immediately looked at his papa sadly. The look that always worked weakened Miles' heart.
“It's okay. Come.” Miles placed his hands under his son's arms and sat him in his lap.
“Wow, Dad! See it!” William pointed towards the unique building they passed by. In a moment his face turned cheerful.
Along the way William asked so many questions about buildings, roads, cars, and public transportation. Miles answered everything. Sometimes Shane or Amanda also add the answer with facts that they know more. Kirana was interested and listened to their explanation. The buildings and houses they spoke of were indeed very stunning.
Entering a courtyard of the house, William cheered happily. The house is similar to Miles' house in Jakarta. William wanted to walk on his own, Miles let out a sigh of relief. Amanda held her hand, the boy did not mind. Shane helps Miles get his suitcase out of the trunk of the car.
Miles looked down the road behind them. He saw a car waiting to get into their yard. The guards had to wait until they all entered the house. He did not want Kirana to know of their presence.
At the front door, they were greeted by two men. They immediately took over the suitcase carried by the father and son. Shane takes Miles and Kirana to the sitting room. Warm tea and snacks have been prepared for them. Miles took Kirana's hand.
“Good. Before we talk about anything else, I'm curious about one thing.” Amanda raised her hand to attract everyone's attention. William sat sweetly by his side while eating a chocolate cookie.
“Yes, Mom?” ask Miles. Amanda looked towards Kirana.
“Are you pregnant?” ask Amanda expectantly. Miles and Kirana exchanged looks. “Yes, geez. Oh, geez. You are pregnant!”
“Iya, Amanda. I'm pregnant.” replied Kirana nervously.
“Finally! There are also Bradford men who want to have more than one.” children said Amanda cheerfully. “He should be born here.”
“Mom,” protest Miles.
“Will we consider.” replied Kirana. Miles looked towards him. But the woman simply ignored his gaze. It was a big decision. They should think about it carefully.
“Thank you! I will be happy to take care of Will for you if you want to give birth here.” Amanda said happy.
“So, you don't want to offer your help at the time of giving birth, Mom?” said Miles amused.
“And quarreled with you during labor over who held her hand and who reminded her how to breathe? No, thank you.” Amanda played him with her eyebrows.
“That's a good suggestion, Miles. I can trust Will to your parents. We have no one we can trust at home.” Kirana agreed. Miles shook his head.
“There's Mark, Wanda, Siti, oh, and also Joko, sweetheart. We have a lot of people who can help at home.” Miles objected. Kirana laughs amusedly.
“What does that mean you decided to give birth here?” amanda said expectantly. He looked alternately at Kirana and Miles.
“We will consider, Mom. But don't expect much first.” Miles answered faster than Kirana. The woman looked at him in protest.
