I don't know what to do now. Will she have to survive her unhappy marriage? Letting his wife intimidate him into giving them a child but not getting the medics involved to help them? Letting his wife make accusations that make him feel useless and worthless? If it continues, until when will it survive?
Complaining to his wife's family is not a wise choice. They prefer to believe in him. Just natural. He is part of their family. Miles is just the husband of their son and sister. As a woman, Angelica was considered weaker and easier to be a victim in their household, rather than believing in Miles who was stronger and had great potential for violence.
Passing the first year since they decided to focus on child-making programs, Miles enlisted the help of his in-laws to give his wife understanding. That having children sometimes requires a long process and not instant. What he got was not support but the accusation of those who called him a husband was not becus. Eleven years married their daughter but could not afford to give her the child she wanted.
The day after the meeting, his wife's four older brothers called him. They threatened to make a calculation with him if they dared to hurt their younger sister. He was never afraid of their threats. He can protect himself. His body was taller and bigger than his four brothers-in-law. Even if they united against him, he could take down the four of them easily. They know it. But that never stopped their efforts to continue to intimidate him.
He wanted to keep their marriage which was then eleven years old. He loved his wife and was willing to fight together for a child. Of course, with patience and hard work, not by accusing her husband of being barren and not perfidy every time their efforts fail. Where was the wrong speech so that her two in-laws misunderstood, she did not understand. Where lies his attitude that makes his four brothers-in-law consider him as the cause of their sister suffering, nor can he understand.
The second year there was no result, he began to take his wife to see a specialist. The advice was rejected outright. He considered the results of his examination could have ruined their marriage. It was as if their bickering for two years was not enough to be a time bomb ready to explode at any moment until one of them filed for divorce.
To convince his wife, he promised to divorce her so that he could find another man who could give her a child, if she were barren. She wanted to have a child that she had born herself. But getting married to Miles won't give her any solution. Instead, they will adopt a child and stay together, if the wife is barren.
His greatest desire in a marriage was not to have children, but to live to an old age with his beloved wife. If the child will make Angelica's happiness perfect, he will give it, including by adopting a child. He did not mind raising a child that was not born by his wife. He will love her like his own son.
Distancing far from his expectations, his words actually backfired. Angelica thinks she has an affair so suggests they get divorced. When Miles tried to explain, his wife screamed and cried while calling him a traitor, a cheat, keeping a mistress. All labels that he thinks mean the same thing.
After three years, his wife's family came to see him. He came home from work and found them sitting in the living room with his wife. They scolded her for making Angelica suffer. His wife sat in front of him, between her parents, crying. He had absolutely no idea what was going on.
One of his sisters-in-law followed him into the room. He kept saying evil words to provoke Miles. But he was silent and did not reply. He simply opened his shirt and let the man see for himself all the bite marks and scratches he had just gotten two days ago. The man just rounded his eyes and said nothing.
Miles didn't have to explain to her where all the scars came from. She knew that Angelica would not remain in this house with her husband, if the wound on her body was made by another woman. For a long time he wanted to show it to his wife's family. She was grateful that the man followed her into the room. She didn't do it in the living room because she didn't want to make her mother-in-law stop breathing once she saw all the injuries.
Miles doesn't care whether his brother-in-law tells his family what he just saw or is silent. Because they must have thought the worst of him. Perhaps they would rather assume that he cheated and that the wound was from another woman. Not wife. Whatever it is, he doesn't care. His respect for his wife's family has long been lost since they'd rather defend Angelica than try to help save the marriage.
Not satisfied with the results he got after slandering her husband in front of his family, his wife attempted to spread gossip in his office. Miles is lucky to have workers loyal to him. Who know him well so it is not easy to eat the issue is not true about his personal life.
The issue only reached the ears of his assistant and one of the female employees at the reception. They saw his wife sobbing while accusing him of cheating behind her. None of them wanted to spread the accusation. Only Kemala came to him to tell him that his wife came and cried while telling him about her boss who cheated on her with another woman.
Kemala did not ask further or look at him intently to see if Miles had actually cheated on his wife. He only said it in passing because he thought his boss needed to know about it. Then he returned to his desk after Miles invited him back to work.
If he can't ask anyone to help save his marriage, what can he do? Involving both parents is also not a wise thing. He did not want to burden them with his problems. His wife doesn't like Amanda and Shane, and vice versa. Neither his mother nor his father could talk to his wife. Asking for the help of Angelica's best friend is also not an option. They must be more on their own side.
Does that mean he has to fight alone again?
