The Unforgettable Story

The Unforgettable Story
Section 42

Fulfilling his promise to his parents, Miles returns home to his country. He plans to stay there for two months. His mother hugged him tightly as she greeted him at the airport. The woman's face was already covered in tears. Her mother couldn't recognize her because her face was unhappy. Miles wiped away the tears of the woman who had given birth to him with both hands.

“I'm fine, Mom.” said Miles reassured him.

“You're not okay. I hate him for doing this to you.” Her mother tightened her embrace.

All day long they asked him to tell me everything that had happened. Although tired and want to rest immediately, Miles according to. Finished hearing her story, Amanda asks her to see a psychologist to recuperate. Miles promised to do so in Indonesia.

Seeing her mother dissatisfied with her answer, she took a recovery class held by their church. He does not feel alone when meeting and sharing with people who experience the same thing with him. Losing a loved one to suicide.

Deep in his heart Miles knew that wasn't what made him feel different. Not because of the loss of his wife. Their marriage was unhappy and he had long thought of getting out of the hell. But he stayed in the class to make his mother feel relieved and not worry about him anymore. The counselor who led the class knew she didn't say everything, only part of it. But he did not force her to open up more than what she had delivered. Miles is very grateful.

Her weight returned to normal as her appetite returned. Her mother's cooking is delicious. Summer in the city is not hot. The temperature was cool enough that he was hungry all the time. Living with a family that loves him, Miles finds what he loves in life. The warmth of their hearts healed his broken heart. Their acceptance of her made her happy after years of living under pressure.

He went back to the gym and worked out for two hours. His body is back in shape. When the eyes of both women and men were fixed on him when he passed them, he knew his body shape was ideal again. He visited many places he liked and his parents accompanied him wherever he went. They sunbathe or swim at the beach on weekends. On another occasion, they were relaxing in the hut in the middle of the forest.

When waking up and before going to bed, she uses a few moments to check her emails and private messages. He worked for four. Only when there's an emergency, he's overtime. That rarely happens either. Every time he stayed at the inn, he always made sure they provided a printing machine and scanner in his room. Both of his parents just bobble their heads in disbelief to see him.

Wanting to see her happy again, Amanda and Shane try to introduce her to some of the women they know. Everything Miles subtly refused. He even immediately walked out of the dining room, sitting room, or restaurant as soon as he saw a woman he did not know sitting in one of the chairs with his parents. Knowing she would refuse if offered a meeting with a woman, Amanda changed her strategy by inviting them without her son's knowledge. Miles is not caught up in his mother's plans.

“I can't believe you rejected all the beautiful single women I wanted to introduce you to.” Amanda shook her head. Shane laughed amusedly.

“Bye, Mom, Dad. I'll call you when I'm home.” his promise to his parents while waving his hand. The holidays are over, it's time to get back to life.

The first thing he did when he returned to his company was to ask Reynand to find information on the names of the best psychologists in their city. The psychologist must be able to help adults who have lived a long time in bullying to get out and find themselves again. As usual, the man did not ask and just did his job.

That night, Miles went to a psychologist's practice after work. His assistant had already registered him, so he didn't have to wait long until his turn arrived. The woman on duty at the front desk asked him to follow her into a room.

“Map Miles Alastair Bradford.” The woman announced her arrival to someone in the room and invited her in. Miles nodded and went inside.

“Thank you, Reva. I'll handle it from here.” A beautiful woman stood up and walked over to him.

“Andrea Lalita?” ask Miles.

Miles sat on a leisurely couch with three stands. The woman smiled and sat on the sofa opposite Miles. He picked up the board on the table and prepared to write their conversation with the pen.

“What can I help you with, Mr Miles?” tanyanya relax.

“I need help.” answered honestly. “My wife has just died and during the last years we got married, I was unhappy. I want to be happy again.”

The woman wrote something on her note before looking over at Miles. “May I know your wife died because of what?”

“Suicide.” says Miles cold. The woman realized it because she was silent for a while.

“It's a very complicated thing. Im sorry. It must be heavy for you to go through it.” said the woman was concerned. Miles was just quietly waiting for him to continue his question. “How long have you been married to your wife?”

“Twenty years.” Miles nodded heavily. That was a very long time.

“Last years where you were unhappy earlier, do you remember how long exactly?”

“Ten years.”

“Good.” The woman put down her pen and note. “I'd be happy to help you. But I have a condition.”

“I know everything. No need to mention it again. I promise I will go through all the sessions I have to follow, answer all the questions honestly, do everything I have to do to smooth the recovery process.” Miles said. The woman smiled.

“You impressed me, Mr. Miles.” his god.

With great difficulty, Miles followed the counseling for nearly nine months. Slowly the intensity of his nightmares diminished. Every time he remembered his wife and all the things he had done, there was no more anger, hatred, or disgust. He has forgiven her.

His confidence is back again. He smiled more easily and was not reluctant to laugh at jokes.

There is one thing he does not want to change. Falling in love and getting married again. Both of these things did not fit into his life plan. After his experience with Angelica, that wish died with his death. The betrayal his wife committed almost took away his sanity. His unconditional love for his wife made him obey all of Angelica's will. Had he checked himself out sooner, they might still be living happily together. Stupidity that he could no longer fix.

Although Andrea encourages him to try to get into a relationship again, Miles refuses. He admires his psychologist with all his skills and knowledge, but that doesn't mean he agrees with all of his sayings. After saying goodbye to him, Miles promised never to return to the place. Andrea just laughed a little.
