The atmosphere of Mikaila's inpatient room became silent. Only the sound of dhikr echoed in the room. After ablution, Iffa and Inna joined in preaching with Izar and Faiq. But the two chose to sit a bit away from Mikaila out of fear.
After waiting for a while the ghost of Burna was present in their midst. He floated closer to Faiq with a sad look. While behind the ghost of Burna seen black creatures that had surrounded Mikaila appear to stand in line as if watching Burna.
Faiq smiled welcoming the ghost of Burna then extended his hand. Izar seems busy. When touching the ghost of Burna, the story of Burna's past is clearly visible.
Burna is a six-year-old girl, exactly the same age as Mikaila was when she first met him. Burna is a beautiful girl because she has mixed Indonesian and Dutch ancestry. His mother Tika is from Indonesia while his father Scholer is from the Netherlands. Therefore, it is not surprising that Burna has blue eyeballs, shoulder-length blonde hair, and pale skin typical of Dutch people.
Burna's family lived in a house not far from the factory where his father worked. Burna's father's job as a factory supervisor was very time consuming so Burna very rarely interacted with the father. Burna loved his father very much.
One day there was a great quarrel between Burna's parents. Apparently the father cheated on her and impregnated her boyfriend. Burna's mother was angry and left the house with Burna. Burna's mother brought the child to visit her parents who incidentally were Burna's grandfather and grandmother.
The departure of Tika by carrying their child alone puppet makes Scholer feel lost. Especially then Scholer knew if his girlfriend was not a good woman. Scholer's girlfriend was pregnant because she was in contact with many men who were also Scholer's colleagues. Scholer therefore chose to withdraw and did not want to take responsibility.
Scholer follows Tika and Burna at the house of the in-laws. When he got there, Scholer was late. Tica
married to another man. Even Tika is pregnant with her new husband's child. Scholer regretted everything but in vain. He could only hope that Tika would allow him to bring Burna home and raise Burna with his own hands.
Tika also allows Scholer to bring Burna as long as he is allowed to meet with Burna. Tika decided to hand Burna over to Scholer because at that time Tika was in a condition that was not possible to take care of Burna. Apparently Tika's husband is not comfortable seeing Burna the 'bule' is in their house because it always reminds him of the figure of Burna's father Scholer.
“ That kid made me uncomfortable with Tika. It's her physique that makes people know that I'm not your first husband. I ain't ga
I love people comparing me to your ex-husband. Now you are my wife, then forget all the things that remind you of your past.” said Tika's husband two days ago.
“ What it means I have to throw away my Son Mas. You said you would accept Me and my son but not a year married You have denied it Mas.” said Tika disappointed.
“ I thought could accept him to stay with us, but it was hard to live with Tika. I ain't anyway
being able to share affection with a child who is not my biological child. I'm sorry Tika, I just want to be honest if I don't like her and please keep her out of my life. I was worried that I would hit him if I calmed down later..” Tika's husband said as he passed.
Tika hugs Burna once again before letting her go with her ex-husband. Little Burna understood
if his presence is not desired by his stepfather it can only be resigned. He walked away from his mother and never looked again.
The days of Burna went as they should. Burna lives in a house near the factory with his father and
his nanny is named Jumirah. Burna tries to enjoy his life cheerfully even without the mother's affection.
One day Scholer brings a new mother and brother to Burna. Apparently Scholer married a widow of two children and asked her to stay in the house. Can be guessed how the attitude of stepmother Burna. He would only love Burna if Scholer was at home and the rest of Burna was always tortured and made a servant. Even Jumirah was fired without a proper severance.
Burna repeatedly complained about his mother and stepbrother's treatment of his father, but Scholer did not believe him. Even Scholer punished Burna as he did. He cruelly locked Burna inside the house while he and his new family went on a trip somewhere. Burna could only stare at the father's departure with an angry and disappointed look.
For two days Burna was left locked without food and drink until Burna almost died. When Scholer and his family come home Burna accidentally hides in his room. Instead of finding out Burna's condition, Scholer actually went into the room to rest because it was late at night.
Burna came out of his room and grabbed a kerosene-filled jirigen from the kitchen and poured it in front of the door of his father's room and his half-brother. Burna also doused the kerosene in the outer window. Burna then burned a roll of paper and ignited it in front of doors and windows that had been doused with kerosene. In an instant the fire grew and panic broke out. Burna came out of the house laughing with satisfaction.
From his yard Burna could see Scholer and his wife running around in the room and trying to save themselves. Burna also saw two of his half-brothers crying from fear at the fire. Scholer and his wife tried to open the door but failed.
Seeing Burna standing outside Scholer's house was aware that the fire was Burna's. Time after time
Scholer called Burna through the burning window and begged his son to save him. But Burna just shook his head and it made Scholer angry.
“ What are you doing Jesline, you want to kill Papa huh..?!” scholer called Burna's real name out loud from behind the window.
“ What did you say Papa..?” ask Burna pretending not to listen.
“ Please save us, Papa promises to obey all your will later.!” Scholer.
“ I don't believe. You also said that when you took me away from my mother's house, but the proof is that you wasted me Papa. You don't trust me either..!” suhut Burna was angry.
“ I'm Sorry Jesline. I'll fix everything..,” Scholer promised but Burna still shook his head.
Screams of fear accompanied by cries echoed in that silent night but Burna seemed to be calmly enjoying everything. Suddenly Burna was surprised when he saw the figure of Jumirah in the fire. He called the nanny's name over and over and told her to come out and Jumirah didn't hear her.
Apparently that night Jumirah deliberately came to see the condition of Burna. Jumirah felt if something bad
it will happen to Burna. At the sight of the house burning Jumirah panicked and immediately barged in to save Burna.
Seeing her nanny drown in the flames made Burna panic and immediately broke into the burning house. Jumirah seemed to smile seeing Burna was fine.
“ Fire is fire, house is home, run it run..,” said Jumirah Iirih while hugging Burna as if he was teaching him English vocabulary as he often did when nurturing Burna.
“ Burn it burns and it is my name now because I burned this house Bi..” Burna said in tears.
“ Run..., run...,” said Jumirah before exhaling his last breath.
Burna cried to see his nanny die before his eyes. When looking to the right and to the left Burna found fire had surrounded the place. Burna could not save himself until he was burned to death in the middle position hugging Jumirah.
The people who arrived were unable to do anything because the fire had devoured the building of the house and its contents.
Among the residents who gathered there was the spirit of Burna standing while staring at the burning building with a blank look.
