168. For Love

Seeing the cave where he performed the ritual destroyed Burhan was even more angry. He screamed and cursed. Suraj and Hanako approach with a furious rage. But Burhan's steps stopped because it was blocked by Fatur and Faiq.

Hanako looked at Suraj who seemed to grimace in pain because he had to be a living shield for her from the leftover stone throw of the cave collapse. Then Hanako advanced and left Suraj sitting while leaning his body on the cave ruins. From where Suraj sat saw Hanako clutching the keris she used to stab her mother in the heart. Suraj felt sad as well as anxious.

When he saw Hanako approaching the battle arena, Fatur and Faiq panicked, but Burhan seemed happy. Burhan felt his mission this time would go perfectly. Burhan came to Hanako who seemed to be standing quietly. In one jump Burhan managed to arrive before Hanako with both hands spread as if to grab Hanako. But Burhan's hand motion stopped the air as Hanako managed to pierce his chest with a keris and hit Burhan's heart.

Simultaneously there was a noise from the direction of the cave ruins coming from the screams of the female ghosts who had been held captive in the cave all this time. The ghosts are freed from the supernatural bond that shackles them when Burhan is injured by a keris that is always used to finish off his victims.

Dark red blood spurted from the wound as well as from Burhan's mouth. Hanako closed her eyes because she could not see the blood coming out of the wound she had made.

“ That ghost said I just need to scratch you a little to beat you up. But you came to take your life. So it's not my fault.” said Hanako and pushed Burhan's body with both hands until Burhan fell to the ground.

Burhan's body that slammed into the ground seemed to shake violently. The wound on his chest was bleeding profusely and kept flowing through the ground like a slaughtered buffalo. Then slowly Burhan's large body began to change and returned to its normal size. The horn on his head disappeared and changed with gray hair. Burhan screamed in pain with his eyes widened furiously staring at Suraj. His hand was stretched out as if it wanted to reach Suraj but it was just hanging in the air. A moment later Burhan fell silent and died with his hands hanging in the air, eyes widened and chest blown out.

“ Cuihh..., done already..,” said Suraj while spitting on Burhan's face.

Then Suraj grabbed the lighter from his pants pocket. He casually covered Burhan's corpse with dry twigs and foliage scattered there and then set it on fire. In an instant, Burhan's body was engulfed in flames. Simultaneously from the ruins of the cave flashed a huge number of black shadows. Apparently they are the female ghosts of Burhan's cruelty victims all along.

Fatur, Faiq and Hanako watched what Suraj did. They understood Suraj's anger and remained there until Suraj finished the act. Slowly Suraj turned his body and stepped towards the three.

A security guard who served at the tollgate seemed to frown because he saw their sudden appearance from within the thickets of trees lined up neatly on the side of the road.
