THE LOVE OF MY LIFE

THE LOVE OF MY LIFE
95. A thing

Nayla got away from the front door and let them open the door to look at her study.

Unknowingly, they opened their mouths when the door opened, even Rory did the same.

The room is quite spacious with a wall of bookshelves whose height reaches a ceiling filled with neatly arranged books. Some piles of books that have not been compiled are on the floor, but not scattered.

A desk with a computer on the other side of the room, and two guitars that look very well maintained are in the corner of the room, a beanbag and a small table with a fur carpet pad underneath.

Gift parcels and paper bags are also located on the floor, even gift boxes that have not been opened are collected into one.

"Is this what you call a mess?" ethan stared at the room without blinking.

"I knew that a writer would have many books, but I didn't expect this many" Thomas said.

"This is only half of what I have" Nayla said, rubbing behind her ear with her index finger.

"EHHH," cried Thomas and Ethan quickly turned towards Nayla.

"You call this half of it? Then where are the others?" nathan asked widened his eyes.

"In the next room" answered Nayla. "Some, I was forced to wrap it so it wouldn't get damaged" Nayla explained.

"Can we just sit here, Nay?" please Thomas.

"I will gladly help tidy up the books" Thomas said again pointing to the pile of books on the floor.

"Even if I say no, you'll keep persuading me, won't you?" sindir Nayla narrowed her eyes.

"May I ask you something, Nay?" said Rory.

"Sure, what is it?" nayla answered, turning her gaze to Rory.

"Is it always Adrian who tidied this place up? Um, I mean this room," asked Rory.

"Yes, he always does. Just this room and the next room, for another room, I usually use cleaning services" explained Nayla.

"Why Adrian?" ask Rory again.

"Because I'd find it easy to find what I need if he did it. He always remembered where to put the book he arranged here" Nayla explained.

"While I myself rarely have time to tidy up this place myself," he added.

Rory cuddled her head in a sign of understanding without any suspicion. He spread his eyes with admiration.

"So, I can sit here, right?" sela Thomas asked again.

"Just do it, Thomas. As long as you don't ruin my book, I don't mind" Nayla replied smiling.

"That's never gonna happen, I promise," said Thomas.

"Ah, that's right, too," said Nayla suddenly making Thomas look at her with a face to ask.

Nayla walked towards the row of books that were near the door, the bottom row. Take out some books, and get back to Thomas.

"Here" said Nayla, giving Thomas two books.

Thomas accepted with a frown, not understanding. However, his face was rubbed when he saw the book Nayla had given him.

"These books," Thomas hung up his line staring at the book with sparkling eyes.

"This is for me?" ask Thomas not to believe it.

"Didn't you want it?" nayla replied asking.

"And this is for you" Nayla said, turning to Nathan and Ethan.

"You're seriously giving this?" welcome Ethan girang.

"How can you have the same three books?" timpal Nathan still can't believe what he got.

"Have you forgotten whose book you have in your hands?" syndicate Nayla.

The three of them looked back at the book in their hands, the book by Nyloes that they failed to get, they could get two books at once.

"Not b-so," Nathan replied stammered.

"But how can you have it?" continued. "All I remember is that this book only comes out once and it's sold out" he added.

"Every time a book is published, I'll get five books to keep" Nayla explained. "And I'm free to give the book to anyone or keep it" he added.

"That's what it looks like, but are you sure you're giving this" Thomas asked.

"Why should I not be sure? You are not strangers anyway. If I can give my book to strangers, why don't you?" welcome Nayla.

"Thank you, Nay," they said.

Nayla simply smiled in response. Meanwhile, Rory actually captured a photo that attracted his attention until he approached to see more clearly the photo he saw.

A young man with a little girl sitting on his shoulder smiled widely. With a single glance, anyone could see the joy on their face. Rory's eyes were fixed on the bracelet the little girl was wearing, and made her realize that the little girl was none other than Nayla.

'So, the bracelet he's been wearing is the bracelet?" inner Rory.

"TINET,,,"

The sound of the doorbell interrupting, pulled Rory back to reality, and immediately turned her back to the picture frame she had just seen.

"Let me open the door" said Martin, stepping out of the room.

Martin opened the door and found Adrian behind it, carrying three large paper bags in both hands.

"We were just visiting" replied Martin while helping Adrian by taking over the paper bag in one of Adrian's hands.

"We?" adrian's forehead wrinkled.

"You mean, the six of you are here?" adrian asked as he closed the door.

"Yes," replied martin.

"Ah,, so," Adrian understood.

Adrian immediately went to Nayla's study room followed by Martin who helped him bring his luggage.

"Is there a party here?" chirps Adrian so into the workspace Nayla.

Those in the workspace immediately turned their heads and smiled broadly at Adrian's arrival.

"Your stuff will be delivered tomorrow, today they can't come" Adrian told Nayla.

"And this, your books, also some gifts for you from friends," explained Adrian.

Soon Adrian put his luggage on the floor, not far from the pile of other items that had been there before.

"Why did you bring it yourself? Aren't you able to match up with the one that's going to be sent tomorrow?" welcome Nayla to Adrian.

"For this one is impossible, right?" adrian answered raising his eyebrows.

Nayla just smiles a little and responds to Adrian with all the little things he does, but it means a lot to Nayla.

"Ah, this afternoon someone sent something for you" said Adrian.

Adrian bends down to pick up the green box with a golden ribbon, and thrusts at Nayla.

"Lucie said to me, this was delivered directly by someone who wanted to give you a gift" Adrian said.

"I brought it because you asked me once that I didn't remember it wrong, the sender was named Val" he added.

"Val?" repeat Nayla with widened eyes.

"Yes, you can read the letter if you have questions" Adrian said.

Without saying much, Adrian began tidying up a pile of books that he had not had time to finish, and moved some gifts that had been opened to the next room.

Martin is involuntarily moved to help Adrian. As if understanding Adrian's mindset, he understood where to put the goods or books he showed only with Adrian pointing at one place, assisted by Kevin and Nathan.

While Nayla immediately opens the green box from Val to see the contents inside, with Rory, Thomas and Ethan nearby who are also curious about what the contents of the box are.

Nayla again widened her eyes after seeing the contents inside. The book that Val had promised her was also a couple's watch next to the book.

A smile bloomed with Nayla as she read the letter tucked in the box.

[[ hi, emmm, I don't know how to behave now, it's a little awkward because I can't behave like I used to. Regardless of me having met you by accident, I want to apologize if I behaved like I should. Since the last time I met you, I have had a hard time finding you because I don't know where exactly you live, and I want to give you the book I promised. After knowing you and he are the same person, I hope you don't mind me giving the book this way, ]]

Rory, who had read the letter, set her eyes on Nayla.

"What does that mean?" Rory frowned.

"Ehmm,,," Nayla rolled her eyeballs, thinking of a quick way to explain.

"Remember what happened at the festival? Book stand?" ask Nayla.

"More than anything," Rory replied briefly, the look on her face suddenly changed.

"Hey, listen first" Nayla laughed.

Thomas desperately tries to hold back his laughter when remembering the events of the festival night, where Rory looks very angry just because a foreign man held Nayla's hand for too long, and it was because of the book.

"I found out his name when I came home from the supermarket, and he helped me, more precisely to help me from the interference of people who were abusive to me" Nayla said.

"When did that happen?" ask Rory.

"Uhm, that, that, moment, moment," Nayla was confused by what she was going to say.

"There's no need to go on, I understand," Rory cut.

"Then,?" ask Rory to ask for the continuation of the story.

"He wanted to give me a book as an apology for misunderstanding at the festival and for upsetting you" Nayla said.

"He??" repeated Rory can't believe.

"He thinks you're lovers and he feels bad for making you jealous, if I don't draw the wrong conclusions from your story" Thomas said.

"Right," welcome Nayla. "I refused and said it was okay. But he insisted on giving me a book. And I didn't really think about it because I thought he couldn't meet me without knowing where I lived" Nayla said.

"I was impressed with the way he thought, at least he didn't assume as baselessly as someone" Ethan said.

"There's no need to insinuate me, I know where you're going" said Rory.

They only laughed at Rory's attitude, but they were also grateful for it. After the incident, Rory's attitude changed. He no longer receives the news he hears without investigating the truth, tries to calm down if there is anything to do with Nayla, and focuses more on his music career without neglecting his top priorities.

Adrian has finished tidying up all the books faster thanks to help from Martin, Kevin and Nathan.

Before returning home, Adrian tells Nayla to come to the office tomorrow at two in the afternoon. After that, say goodbye to going home.
