THE LOVE OF MY LIFE

THE LOVE OF MY LIFE
92. Open Book

Adrian without hesitation stared intently at Kevin. He looked at Rory and his friends before saying.

"Is everything Nayla has done still not enough? What do you want him to do again? You think the insistence and the accusation will be useful to satisfy the curiosity you haven't?" adrian cecar.

"Adrian, please, just get here! Please don't continue!" pinta Nayla pleads.

Adrian began to lower the overflow of emotions, by adjusting his breath, he looked at those who were now silent without being able to make a sound.

"When Nayla finished her script and delivered it to me, she often lost her consciousness. And I came to take him to the hospital" Adrian said.

"Tell me! Where's my fault?" coined.

"FUCKER,,!!! ENOUGH,,,!!!" sentak Nayla standing up.

"You've talked too much, I've asked you to stop, why don't you listen?" hardik Nayla's.

None of them could hide their surprise hearing Adrian's statement. Their shock grew when they saw Nayla snapping Adrian in front of them.

"You want me to keep quiet when they, especially him, (pointing Kevin by his index finger) say that to you?" adrian's reply. "will not. I'd rather accept your anger than be quiet when I hear them corner you" he added.

"It's just a misunderstanding. If they misunderstand me, it's only natural that I don't say anything to them. If you want to blame someone, I'm the one to blame here" replied Nayla.

"It's the same as when you misunderstood me, too" he added.

"That's different, Nay. I don't corner you," Adrian argued.

"The difference is, Kevin brings out what's on his mind, while you choose to keep it" Nayla said.

Adrian silent. His head was now down and staring at the floor, no longer daring to look at Nayla who was still looking at him with a warm gaze as usual even though she was angry.

"Sorry" said Adrian.

"I will go home, will you come home with me, or will you name them?" adrian asked without looking at Nayla.

"I_,,,"

"Better with them. Well, I know that's what you're gonna say. You come with them, and you will go home with them. I'm sorry to be such a troublemaker here" Adrian said, cutting off Nayla's words.

"Adrian, wait!" prevent Nayla.

Adrian stopped the movement of his hand that was about to open the door. Without looking, he only saw Nayla from behind his shoulder.

"You can call me whenever you need me, even when you don't need me, you can call me" Adrian said.

Without waiting for an answer, Adrian opened the door and left after closing the door. Leaving the tension still felt in the room.

Nayla sat down and cupped her own face.

"Haahh,," exhorted Nayla.

Nayla raised her face when she felt a soft touch on both of her shoulders. Rory and Kevin put one hand on both shoulders.

"I'm sorry, it's my fault" Kevin regretted.

"I'm also guilty of not speaking up to defend you" Rory said.

"No," Nayla nodded. "He does sometimes, and I'm sorry on his behalf for yelling at you" Nayla replied.

"It's not you who should be apologizing here" Kevin said.

"Regardless of all that, we've also made a mistake with you, we're sorry, Nay," Thomas said.

"This problem arises because I wasn't honest with you from the beginning" Nayla replied.

Nayla let out a long sigh, then returned a faint smile before returning to talk.

"Erister's main job is editor. But, I chose him to be my assistant at once. He was the one who had replaced my position when I had to attend all the meetings with some people who wanted to meet me," there was a pause just before Nayla returned to continue her story.

"At first, my assistant was Rose. But, he was moved due to unavoidable circumstances, and Adrian replaced him. Just like Rose, Adrian who was always with me made her know me very well, but never passed from the reasonable limit," exhaled a long breath, Nayla continued

"The reason he has my apartment key, it's true as he said. At that time, I finished the script before the deadline, and I sent it to Adrian's E-mail. I don't remember anything after that, it's just that, when I woke up, I was already in the hospital. I'm working on the script in the apartment, and as long as I finish the script, I don't come to the office,"

Nayla nodded slowly. Then, staring one by one the friends in front of him who looked very surprised.

"Is what he said true? You didn't sleep because of the script?" ask Ethan carefully.

"It seems so, because I'm used to doing it that sometimes I don't feel anymore what makes it different," replied Nayla, then wryly.

"Because it's been like this, I'll also say something else, the reason why I'm hiding this from you guys" Nayla said.

"Don't tell me anything that's weighing on you, Nay," Rory said.

"No," Nayla nodded. "At least, it will avoid unnecessary arguments going forward" replied Nayla.

"Better, we leave this place first, I'm afraid someone might hear what you're going to say, Nay," Martin suggested.

Nayla nodded slowly, the smile on her face changed completely. Everything Nayla planned changed unavoidably even though she could. However, if he did not do so and chose to delay again, he would not know when such an opportunity would come to him again.

Martin took the lead to leave the room, while only Nayla and Rory remained in the room, Rory extended her hand to Nayla who was greeted quickly.

Martin chose a path where they could avoid the mass media still outside the building. Sneaking into their car that had been waiting for them, until they managed to leave unhindered. Ignoring those who are looking for them.

"I started writing when I was seven years old, where I just wrote bedtime stories in my own book, and I enjoyed myself. But, when the book was read by someone, and said it was a good fairy tale, that person sent my writing to a children's magazine printing press," Nayla began the story.

They are silent, listening without interrupting if not necessary.

"It just so happened that the person was a library owner, and we had a pretty close relationship back then,"

"Both of my parents divorced when I was five, and left me with my brother to take care of ourselves. From that moment on, sister quit school and chose to work to meet our needs," Nayla set her breath and sipped her drink.

"I didn't feel any loss, because our relationship wasn't good at all. Brother also did not let me come with them because they often beat us up just for simple reasons,"

"At that time, even if I didn't feel any shortage, just being able to be with my sister was enough. You could even rent a small house to live in. And Chris, brother's best friend seems to be a complement until I can no longer remember the last time I met my parents,"

"All I thought would be fine, and I thought I could help my sister if I kept writing and could get money, until _," there was a pause just before Nayla went back to her story.

"At my age that has passed seven years, an accident took the life of my brother. It was the same day that my writing received praise. A car that somehow drove fast towards us was on the way home. And no matter what the rhyme of when, brother had pushed me, but failed to save himself,"

Nayla gulped back her drink, her tears without realizing it had rolled away. Rory wrapped her arms around Nayla's boat which started to shake.

"As if it wasn't enough, Chris and his family moved on. From then on I started doing everything I could to survive other than relying on the results of my writing that didn't produce much,"

"Nyloes' name was the name my sister chose when I said I didn't want to use my name, and wanted to use her name. And I didn't expect it to be our last conversation,"

Tears flowed more and more, but Nayla still tried to control her emotions, while wiping her tears.

Silence occurred after Nayla ended the story, no one opened a voice just to chimed in what Nayla had just told.

"So, Chris isn't your brother?" ask Ethan carefully.

"His big line is he's not my brother, he's my brother's best friend, and he's also taking care of me when my brother works. It could be said, she was a figure of an elder sister without any blood ties,"

"Did he know you were Nyloes?" ask Thomas.

"She noticed it while reading one of the books her friend was reading. He knew my writing very well, so he soon found out it was my book" Nayla replied.

"Then, why_," Kevin was about to ask, but immediately dropped his intention.

"It's nothing, forget it" said Kevin.

"Better now you rest, tonight you have experienced many things" Kevin continued.

"I want to go home" replied Nayla.

"You better stay with us for now, Nay," suggested Martin.

"No, I still choose to go home" said Nayla.

"But_,," protested worried Rory.

"Tonight I just want to be alone, and tomorrow will be fine" Nayla said.

Rory refrained from returning to protest. What Nayla had just told him, must have weighed her heavily all along. Now he also knows why Nayla always dodged when she asked about her family. Because he lives alone.

"I'll take you home" Rory said at the end.

Just as with Rory, they abandoned their intention to force Nayla to stay. And let Nayla go with Rory.

Nayla held Rory's hand as the two of them almost reached the exit. Making Rory immediately turn around with an indescribable anxiety on her face.

"What's wrong? Do you feel uncomfortable or _,,,"

Nayla nodded slowly, her face raised to look at Rory.

"thank you. Sorry, I just said it now," Nayla said, beginning to smile again.

"Thank you for what? For stupidity?" cibir Rory pretend.

"You brought me up when I felt fear haunting me on stage" Nayla said.

"It can't even be compared to your courage to reveal everything in front of everyone" Rory replied.

Rory put both hands on Nayla's boat. Staring at the small figure in front of him who turned out to have a toughness that he never imagined.

"I was a fool in reading situations, too quick to assume without proof, and pushed you too far to satisfy my curiosity alone. However, give me a chance to learn all about you, no matter how small it is," Rory hoped.

"Give me a chance to be your foot to support you whenever you can't stand on your own. Even if I'm not as strong as you, I'll try to equalize my steps with you,"

"I want you to know, you're not alone, you can count on me anytime, you can make any mess and I'll take care of it. The only thing that scares me is that you leave because of my attitude that you might not like" Rory said.

Nayla smiled faintly, then eroded the distance between the two of them. Put one hand on Rory's chest, then stick his forehead.

"Basic stupid! How can I go after what we've been through?" welcome Nayla.

"Thank you for not leaving me after you learned of my past" said Nayla Lirih.

Rory wrapped her hands around Nayla, then gently kissed the top of her head, and smiled.

"No, and I'll never let that happen, I love you" Rory said.
