~ "Hihihi, the game was very exciting. Hiding a round object into the ground, it turned out to be pleasant hihihi."
Rein stared lazily at the wind spirit that giggled indistinctly.
They had just finished hiding a bomb that Rein had bought in a feature market, in the Volker forest.
The wind spirit floated before Rein.
~ "Hihihi, I'm very happy to play with you. Do you want to be my contractor? Hihih."
The corner of Rein's mouth twitched, while Croft grinned over Rein's head.
'I've been waiting for that sentence ever since.'
Croft nodded, then took Rein's mind off.
[Master, when you become a wind spirit contractor, then he will be able to see me. But you take it easy, the problems associated with the system will remain a secret. Likely, he would have thought of me as your guardian spirit. ]
'That sounds good.'
Rein smiled faintly, then answered him.
"Alright, I'm happy to play with you anyway."
~ "Hihihi, then give me a name."
Rein's face stiffened upon hearing the sound of the wind spirit. Honestly speaking, he was not talented at thinking of a name. When Rein named the system, he used his last name.
Croft, realizing that Rein was in trouble, offered his opinion.
[What about Joy? The name has the meaning of happiness, according to the personality of the wind spirit who likes to play and laugh indistinctly. ]
'You're the best.'
Croft put on a proud face hearing the praise from Rein.
"Joy, your name is Joy."
The wind spirit closed its eyes, before long the light enveloped the wind spirit, then turned into a grayish ball of light. Then the ball of light entered Rein's body.
"Ugh."
Rein groaned softly, his hands touching his chest as he began to feel shortness of breath.
[Look down Master, Joy's power is at one with your body. ]
'How long!'
[A little while. ]
In the next second, the tightness Rein felt gradually began to disappear. He could feel the wind spirit power merging with his body.
And Rein felt that his body was extremely light as if all the burden had disappeared from his shoulders.
A grayish ball of light shot out from Rein's body, then slowly formed a young man who was about the size of a Croft, but had wind marks in the middle of his forehead.
~ "Hihihi, my name is Joy the wind spirit. Hm?"
Joy who had just introduced herself came to a halt, then tilted her head when she saw the same creature she was sitting on Rein's head.
~ "Who are you?"
[My name is Croft, Master's spirit protector. ]
Joy stared innocently.
~ "Master?"
Croft nodded.
[Right, that's the nickname I made for her. ]
Croft patted Rein's head as he said the sentence.
Joy's round eyes sparkled, then looked at Rein's face.
~ "What Joy can also make a nickname for Rein?"
Rein's face was a little troubled looking at Joy's sparkling gaze, but she agreed to Joy's request. Because Joy helped him anyway.
"Alright, you can call me as you please."
Joy flies around in circles as she is allowed to make a nickname for Rein.
~ "Hihihi, thanks Cutie pie."
"Huh?"
~ "True, that's the nickname Joy made."
"Why ... Cutie pie?"
Rein doesn't mind any nicknames, but Joy's nickname isn't it too weird? He is human, not food.
~ "Because Cutie pie looks sweet when smiling."
Joy exclaimed with a bang by touching both of her cheeks, and imagined the moment Rein smiled for her.
Rein looked at Joy strangely.
'I smiled to trick her, does it look sweet?'
Croft giggles at the question posed by Rein's mind.
Rein ignored the two strange creatures, then he tried to fly using the power of Joy who had fused with his body.
Rein gathered wind at his feet, which slowly floated above the ground.
Joy squealed furiously at Rein who had already mastered the power of the wind spirit.
"Let's go back."
~ "Good."
[ Okay. ]
* * *
Rein once again stared blankly at Mark who was examining his body to make sure there were no injuries.
"Thank God you're okay."
Rein simply nodded in return, not knowing what to say.
~ "Cutie pie, the plants say that this old man always stands here when we go back."
~ "The legs of this old man must be very strong."
Joy circled around Mark's feet as her voice rang out by Rein.
[He was very obedient. ]
Rein agreed with the comment Croft gave. Mark can relax while waiting for him to return.
"Uncle Mark, I felt tired while playing with the wind spirit. Can we take a little break here?"
Rein stared with a tired face. She was tired of everything that happened to her as a child.
Mark agreed to Rein's request, then looked for a place to shelter and clean the place so Rein could sit there.
Rein looked flatly.
~ "Then Joy will find fruit for us to eat."
Joy flew into the forest.
Rein sighed, then sat down where he had cleaned and leaned against a large tree that had dark green leaves.
The tree moves its branches so that sunlight does not interfere with Rein's time of rest.
Croft sits on Rein's head, and provides information he hasn't been able to convey because Joy is with them.
[Master, your father has burned down the orphanage along with the people who have hurt this child. And he's on his way home. ]
Rein closed his eyes.
'Is there a survivor?'
[Those who did good to this child were moved to a better place than the orphanage. ]
'That's nice. Then I'll sleep.'
[I understand. ]
Hearing Rein's regular breathing, Mark raised Rein and held him carefully to avoid waking up.
As he was about to leave from the green forest, Mark saw various types of fruit drifting towards him.
"Oh great wind spirit, young master Rein was so exhausted that it put him to sleep. I'll bring him back, excuse me."
Mark slowly walked out of the green forest.
~ "Well, how the fruit?"
[I'll keep it. ]
Croft symbolizes his hand, and all the floating fruit disappears in the air.
~ "Wow Croft, you're so cool."
[ Hm. ]
Croft responds briefly, then flies beside Rein. Joy took away the air of her existence, and then she flew after them.
Curran, who had just passed through the gate, saw Mark carrying Rein.
"Mark's."
Mark stopped his steps when he heard that his name was being called. He turned around, and saw Curran and Kendrick walking towards him.
"Welcome back young master Ran."
Curran nodded.
"Let me carry it."
Curran envelops Rein's body with magic, as he can't take Rein by touching Mark.
"You can rest."
"I understand Young master."
Curran passed Mark, and walked towards his room with Kendrick in the back.
Curran went into the room, while Kendrick stood at his door.
Curran laid Rein down slowly, then rubbed his head.
"Why are you with my son?"
~ "You realized it? I have lost my existence."
