Marriage Gets
First night.

"What are you dreaming about?"

Devin's sudden baritone voice managed to resuscitate Renika from her daydream. With her face turning sullen, Renika glanced sinisterly at Devin.

"You think?" ketus reply.

"I don't have the ability to read your mind, Renika," Devin replied, without removing the slightest 'mask' of her friendly smile from her handsome face.

On the other hand, Renika looked increasingly irritated grunt.

"Are you not thinking on the terms that our parents love?!" pecked.

Devin did not answer. The man only glanced for a moment before finally greeting the guests who started approaching them again. With a slight tilt of his body and approaching Renika's earlobe, Devin whispered as slowly as possible.

"Smile," he whispered.

"Other issues, think about it later."

Hearing Devin's words that sounded like a command, Renika silently exhaled her coarse breath before finally showing her professional demeanor by commenting on the sweet smile on both corners of her lips. Look, with her acting skills, Renika looks like the happiest bride tonight.

"No way" Renika said to Devin as they were doing a photo session together.

The photographer's voice sounded. He directed Devin to hug Renika from behind and the man unhesitatingly wrapped his hands around the girl's waist from behind making Renika's body stiffen slightly. Devin's chin placed on Renika's shoulder followed by a puff of the man's breath that felt hot in Renika's ears made her face blush.

"Why do you look so ordinary while I'm dizzy about our parents' requirements?" asked Renika with a face that showed a beautiful smile a falsehood because both her parents and Devin were watching the photo session with a smile on their faces.

"Because I didn't think about it" Devin said in his flat tone. The man raised Renika's chin for the woman to stare at her was certainly a gesture that followed the direction of the photographer.

"Don't I tell you not to think about it now?"

Renika's smile trembled feeling hooked with Devin's calmness.

"It would be better if you start thinking about how to love our grandchildren for our parents in one year! So, I can stop thinking about that, okay?" ketus reply.

"Kiss the bride!"

The command sounded making Renika flinch. Pre-wedding photo sessions alone are not this extreme!

On the other hand, Devin's gaze landed on Renika's lips. Then the man lifted the girl's chin and brought her face closer. It made Renika surprised and froze.

However, before their lips touched, Devin stopped.

"Okay, perfect!" The photographer's loud voice again sounded like the photo taken showed as if the two brides were really kissing. Still in the same position, Devin said.

"If you're cornered, then just make one." Her eyes looked at Renika straight before she finally pulled herself up and walked back to her seat leaving Renika who was sculpting in her place.

When her spirit returned, Renika immediately glared.

'He said what?!' The girl stepped quickly to chase after Devin.

"Hey! What do you mean..."

Renika had not yet finished her sentence, a guest came and made Devin sing her polite smile. Renika can only be silent while greeting the guest.

While Devin was busy conversing with the guest, Renika's gaze swept over the party scene trying to ascertain how many more guests would come to greet. However, while doing that, Renika's gaze was fixed on the figure of a handsome young man who was blatantly watching her.

Renika was silent for a few seconds. Inwardly, he wondered if both of his parents had an acquaintance of a young man like him? His face looked foreign.

'What's possible acquaintance, Devin?' thought Renika.

Curiously Renika turned to Devin who had returned to sitting quietly and asked in a half-sniffered voice.

"Devin, who's the young man over there?" Renika faintly gestured with her chin towards the figure of the man who stole her attention.

Devin then glanced at the figure of the man, but he did not answer Renika's question because at the same time the invited guests began to arrive again to greet them. With a faint smile on his handsome face, Devin welcomed the guests who had no stop approaching them.

After none of the guests greeted them Devin's expression instantly turned cold.

"She, someone you should stay away from." The man's voice sounded very unfriendly.

Renika suddenly raised one of her eyebrows looking confused and a little surprised. Devin did have a haughty face and attitude but he never clearly showed his dislike of someone. But now, Renika could feel the man's deep hatred for the young foreign man.

Slightly worried about provoking Devin's anger, Renika was just silent while thinking deeply.

'Who ... the man?'

'Finally, ' Renika's inner self after separating from Devin and one of her business partners. He sat at one of the tables located a little away from the crowd of guests intending to enjoy some alone time without any interference from anyone.

However, just now Renika wanted to put the first mouthful into her mouth, suddenly a sound came from behind her back.

"Why is the bride sitting here alone?"

Renika reflexively turned her head and found the figure of the young man who had stolen her attention earlier standing in front. For a moment, the girl fell silent while observing the man and Devin's warning telling her to stay away from him came back to her mind.

"There's no law that prohibits brides from eating alone, right?" tukas Renika later.

The young man smiled too.

"Yes, it doesn't exist, but it feels so dear that a bride as beautiful as you should be sitting alone without anyone's company."

Renika was staring at the man who was openly teasing her.

"I'm Mark, Devin's cousin."

'Soup?' Dahi Renika frowned when she knew the identity of the man. If this guy named Mark is Devin's cousin, then why Devin...

"Renika's." The sound of the baritone reverberating made Renika flinch and turn to the source of the voice. The figure of a man in a white shirt wrapped in his tall and strong body was seen walking up to him.

"Devin." Renika replied with a slight squeak, inexplicably feeling a cold aura emanating from the body of the man who was staring at her and Mark alternately.

'Well, how can I be caught cheating anyway?!'

As Renika was busy with her own thoughts, she unexpectedly felt Devin's hand coiling around her hip affectionately. The man straightened his body and looked coldly at his cousin.

"We have to go" said Devin, making Renika blink her eyes, was the man commanding her?

"We're just starting to talk" Mark casually replied with a smile. However, the smile on her lips was fake because she was not happy that Devin interrupted his conversation with Renika.

"Unfortunately, we have no choice" Devin replied coldly. He tightened his embrace on Renika's waist so that the girl's body was attached to her.

"Again, you don't want to be stamped as a destroyer of the newlyweds' first night, do you?"

"It's all because of you!" added the girl with a makeup body while accusing the man who recently legally bears the title as her husband.

Now, Renika and Devin were inside the sleeping room with faces of difficulty. Worse, the bedroom was the bedroom that was in the residence of Devin's parents!

"Next time to think it over!" renika snapped again making Devin's temple twitch.

"If it wasn't because you were willing to talk to Mark about the first night, you think we'd be stuck here?!"

An hour earlier...

"Connecting this first night is not good also if you go straight away, tonight you guys just stay here, yes..."

With a bright smile, Devin's mother raised a hopeful look at her son and daughter-in-law. Hearing Devin's talk to Mark earlier, he became more excited to make sure everything went smoothly for the two newlyweds.

Renika and Devin who had planned to go to Devin's private house immediately after the event was over were shocked to hear that. Renika frantically glanced at Devin telling the man who incidentally had become her husband to say something through her eyeball motion cue.

Sensing Renika's gaze, Devin glanced at the girl for a moment. Then, he said.

"Don't exaggerate. We just need to stay overnight."

The calmness Devin seemed to make Renika feel ridiculous. Is that guy so used to dealing with women that he doesn't feel the slightest awkwardness at all?

Devin glanced at Renika at a glance with his flat-looking facial expression, then he turned his eyes back while confirming the reading glasses on his nose.

"You take it easy, I don't have the slightest intention of touching you."

Presumably, Renika felt calm after hearing Devin's words but strangely she was even offended. Was his body not attractive to the point that Devin had no intention of touching it?

Renika shook her head expelling her own thoughts. The girl opened her mouth again, ready to reply to Devin's words but suddenly there was a knock from outside the room door that followed the voice of Devin's mother.

"Excuse me newlyweds... Mommy can come in for a second?"

Hearing her mother-in-law's voice, Renika immediately stood up and hurriedly opened the door of her room to let the woman waltz in while carrying a tray containing some drinks and food.

"Mommy is ready for you both" said the middle-aged woman as she placed the tray on the long table in the middle of Devin's room.

Then, with her enthusiastic-looking expression, Devin's mother turned to face Renika and hugged the girl many times.

"You know what, Mommy has been waiting for a long time today." Devin's mother held Renika's hands together.

"From a long time ago, Mommy always wanted to have a beautiful daughter who could shop, chat, chat. Mommy is tired of the stiff guys in this house." the middle-aged woman joked with her bright smile.

"Mommy is the happiest person at your marriage!" slurried the woman while staring at Devin and Renika alternately. His smile that seemed sincere and warm also had made Renika feel at least guilty.

However, the girl immediately covered her feelings with a smile back and tightly grasped her mother-in-law's hand.

"I also like to have a mother-in-law like Mommy."

"Ah, baby!" Devin's mother hugged Renika again.

"If Devin says anything to you, you know Mommy, Mommy kills him!" strict Mother Devin.

Hearing that, Devin cleared his throat loudly, intentionally. He closed the book and looked at her.

"Mom, it's night. Mommy better get back to the room."

Renika immediately blushed red, understanding what her mother-in-law meant.

"Mommy does not dare to fight a young husband who is jealous when his wife is disturbed," replied Devin's mother makes Renika more drunk. Then, the woman grabbed a glass of drink and gave it to Renika.

"Before Mommy leaves, you drink this first. Spend it"

The girl wanted to refuse, but could not bear to see the enthusiastic expression on her mother-in-law's face. Renika then gulped down the drink, but a moment later she was seen twitching her eyebrows as a bitter taste swept across her tongue.

"Ehm... Mom, what's this drink?" asked Renika who was about to spit out the drink, but in the end she managed to swallow it.

"Any drink. This is good for you," said Devin's mother while forcing Renika to gulp the rest of the drink in the glass. Only after Renika finished the contents did the woman throw an explanatory sentence that made the girl glare.

"May the clock be really nutritious, yes. Mommy wants to get a grandchild soon."

And in the end what Devin's mother wanted really happened. The first night was so hot.
