"No, Ma. You asked me to stay in the office to help Mr. Raiden" Vera explained.
"This afternoon, the office will be the arrival of investors from Malaysia. You asked us to accompany the investor until you finish your business in another city" continued Vera.
"Oh...." Karina just nodded. He was silent for a moment thinking about how busy it was to become a Fin.
Meeting from one city to another in one day. Not to mention all the work in the office. Karina was truly grateful, her husband still had time to pamper and pay attention to her, Karina thought.
Suddenly, Karina's mobile phone rang resuscitating Karina from her daydream.
"Yes, Dad!" answer Karina.
"Oh. ... Mba Vera is here" she replied.
Vera only smiled faintly at the call Karina made for her, 'Mba Vera'. If someone else heard it, they might think that the two are very familiar with each other. That's Karina. He never looked at the status of a person. For him everyone is the same. There is no poor or rich.
"Hardisk?" karina asked her husband.
"Okay, Mommy find it first. Bye.. love you too," she said before turning off her husband's call.
"Mba, for a minute, I brought the hard drive up first," she told Vera.
"Yes, ma'am, please, please" replied Vera inviting the wife of her boss to go towards the second floor and bring the item that her boss ordered.
Karina moved towards the second floor of the study. She was looking for a hard drive with files that her husband asked for. Karina opened the drawer of the workbench where the hard drive was stored. What concerns Karina today is not a hard drive but a ring box that the other day she found in the office.
Karina's curiosity grew bigger when she saw a letter she had just read was partly stored there.
Karina put aside her curiosity first. She returned to the first floor to hand over the item her husband had requested to Vera.
Karina's heart was pounding again when she saw the sentence from the contents of the letter.
"Dear, Love. Meeting you was the greatest gift of my life," Karina blushed when she had read it before.
Karina refocused to continue reading the contents of the letter.
"I fought long enough to be back with you. Three years. Not briefly. What a tiring wait." Karina held her breath as she read verse by verse the contents of the letter. His chest was tight but to stop, he couldn't.
How deep did her husband feel for the woman from his past three years? To find out, Karina only had to read it through to completion even though the risk of her actions would end a relationship that only lasted half a year.
"I just need to be patient for a little while. Let everything go according to what God has laid out for us. I just need to wait until things get better and that woman from three years ago I came back. We start everything from scratch, without any lies and falsehoods. There is only love and happiness. Love was like three years ago when we first met."
Degh's... In a moment, Karina's world collapsed. Karina's hopes, too, are dashed. The letter she was reading fell, Karina sculpted. With tears streaming from both corners of her eyes.
So, what does the attention and kindness of her husband mean so far? Karina asked herself. What was the initial assumption that her husband only wanted her rare blood that was true? Karina asked back.
"Stupid!! You are too stupid, Karina!! You may be tricked into conceiving her child!!" karina shouted with sobs that began to break.
Karina sat on the floor.
"True Queen. I am nothing compared to the woman from her past three years" said Karina, with a wry smile laughing at her stupidity.
"Devin.." said Karina suddenly.
Karina wiped her tears using both her hands.
"I must hurry and take Devin away and get away from this family!" he said as he got up, preparing to follow Devin to Singapore.
