What do you want to talk to me about?” laura asked as she sipped champagne in her glass.
Jonathan tilted the corner of his lips, then sat down next to Laura and poured champagne into his glass. “Actually what are you planning?” I asked without looking at Laura. They're in the VIP room of a nightclub.
Laura smiled cynically. “What will I plan for?” Sipping champagne up the toilet, then pouring it back into the glass.
“It's Laura I know how you are.” Jonathan squinted at Laura, then smiled sneering.
“Really?" asked Laura with a defiant look. “What do you know about me? My nature or my body?”
Jonathan knitted his eyebrows together staring at Laura. “What do you mean?”
“Hahaaa.” Laura laughed cynically. “Basic hypocrite!” objurgation.
“We've agreed to forget that,” hissed Jonathan. She snorted as she realized where Laura was talking to.
“Do you really forget the incident that night? Have you really forgotten me?” asked Laura sneered.
“That night I was drunk, it was just an accident.” Jonathan put down his glass violently. He loosened the tie that suddenly felt strangling his neck.
“Accident?” Laura put down the glass and got up from her seat. “Then how about tonight ...” Nimbly Laura sat on Jonathan's lap and unexpectedly he grabbed the man's lips violently.
Jonathan, shocked by Laura's sudden actions, grabbed Laura by the arm and pushed her body back onto the sofa.
“Stop Laura!” snapped with glaring eyes.
“Why?” Laura smiled in anguish. “Isn't this what you want.”
Jonathan closed his eyes. “I've forgotten you,” I admit.
“Ciihhh! You think I believe in you.”
“I've forgotten you since you prefer Mr. Reyhan over me.” Jonathan breathed a heavy sigh. Without him noticing, the words he had just opened his own old wounds.
“You hypocrite, Jonathan.” umpat Laura.
“I'm serious Laura,” replied Jonathan firmly and straightforwardly. He stared intently at Laura, convincing the woman of the earnestness of his words.
“If you've forgotten me, why are you still alone today? Isn't it because you still hope for me?”
Laura grabbed Jonathan's hand, clasped his fingers, and placed it in front of his chin. “Really?” Laura smiled expectantly. “You still want to see me happy, don't you? You know what makes me happy, right? So help me get my happiness back, Jo.” Laura looked at Jonathan full of pleading.
Jonathan immediately turned his face away, reluctant to long face Laura. Those eyes, eyes that were always able to melt Jonathan's heart, eyes that made his stance easily waver. “Sorry Laura, this time I can't keep up with your wishes.”
“Why? Didn't you say you wanted to see me happy?” talk to Laura as usual.
“However, not in this way.” Jonathan desperately fought back against the turmoil of his feelings.
“Then in what way?”
“Return to LN, live your life as you have lived for these five years there,” said Jonathan softly. “Your dreams mean a lot to you, isn't that what makes you happy?”
“No! Now I don't need any of that anymore. All I need is Rangga and Reyhan. Just them" said Laura. Tears seeped from her two beautiful eyes.
“You who have chosen to leave them first in pursuit of dreams.”
“Yes, I know it was my biggest mistake. I want to fix it. Therefore please help me, only you I can count on.” Clasping Jonathan's fingers back. Jonathan looked at him expectantly.
Again the eyes ....
Jonathan withdrew his hand, he immediately got up to avoid Laura's gaze. “Sorry Laura, I can't help you. I don't want to betray Mr. Reyhan anymore" Jonathan replied firmly.
"What?" Laura was stunned to hear Jonathan's unexpected answer. All this time, she knew Jonathan loved her very much, and the man always followed Laura's wishes.
"I'm here just to warn you to stop any of your plans, including your intention to take over the custody of Mr. Rangga.”
“The ladder is my son. I was pregnant for nine months, and I bet my life on giving birth to her. So, I am the most entitled to her,” replied Laura fieryly.
Jonathan smiled faintly. “You were the mother who gave birth to her, but you also left her. You're the one who's been wasting that chance.”
“I went also to Rangga, for his future.” Laura got up from her seat and stared intently at Jonathan.
“What kind of future do you want to give to Mr Rangga? Mr. Reyhan has already given him a bountiful future.” Jonathan squinted his eyes. “I think that's just your excuse, Laura. Including today, you use the custody reasons of Mr. Rangga in order to ensnare Mr. Reyhan to come back to you,” said Jonathan, “please stop, Laura. Realize that everything you do is free. Because I'm not gonna let it all happen. I will be your barrier.”
Plaakkkp!
A loud slap floated onto Jonathan's cheek. “I hate you. I know you're doing this on purpose to get back at me," Laura growled. Just so you know Secretary Jonathan, I'm not afraid of your threats.”
Laura gave a defiant look. Roughly he took his bag and left Jonathan still sculpting. Laura closed the door of the room violently, while Jonathan held onto the cheek that had been slapped earlier. He sat down on the sofa again, looking up at the ceiling of the room. His mind was bright, recalling his High School days with Laura.
